I have found that for me both calorie count and portion control combinations matter. If I eat fresh fruit, it should be with low fat cottage cheese. If I eat a half of an English muffin, I ought to have a single egg with that. Enjoy your journey. You'll figure it out.

Thanks for the encouragement. I can use all I can get. The smoking part is getting easier. The eating to much is still very much a challenge. I am actually enjoying the working out part, and having my jeans fit better is a big plus. :)

It's only been about 6 1/2 weeks since I quit smoking. I smoked for about 25 years, minus one. When I quit then went back to smoking. The first four weeks was hard core. I gained 10 lbs in 31 days, but I DID NOT SMOKE. Then on September 1st, I decided to not gain any more. I am still having trouble not eating to much, but I am doing Zumba on my Wii for 45 min a day, and in about 2 weeks have already lost about 9 lbs. It may sound cheesy but I feel like I could conquer the world right now. I am on a "finally doing it right" trip, and feeling really good about it.
