Welcome! I'm a bit farther in the East Valley (almost in Phoenix, really) but alas, just starting out, trying to see if I can handle more than two miles, but there's lots of great hiking for you around here!
My daughter lived in Mesa several years ago for a while and I was over here a number of times. I've driven through some of the Superstition once. My hikes are usually 3 to 7 or 8 miles right now. I have done 9 or 10 a couple of times. I live in Silver City, with the Gila National Forest all around me and lots of places to explore. And right now it's so pretty and green with wildflowers because we've had a lot of rain the last couple of months. It looks greener right now than in several years because we've been in a drought for the past few years. We are still considered in drought because water tables are still low. I'm hoping we have a good wet winter this year. I'm not wild about the snow, and sometimes we have very little. But we need it so bad, especially in the mountains, to have the water tables built back up as it melts next spring. Happy hiking!
