Thank you for your warm welcome, Lynda. I *love* Alpine, though I have not been up there since the Bear Wallow Fire. My mom lived in Eagar for 30+ years, so I was up in that part of AZ a lot, especially during summer. I'd love to be included in an Alpine get-away when the weather warms up. I admit to being a cold-weather wuss. If it's below 70, I think it is cold (smile).

emoticon to the team, Julia - you have a beautiful area to hike in the winter. I really do like Arizona, especially the mountain areas. I camped last summer with my husband and SparkFriend LINDAKAY228 in the Alpine area. We've talked about making it an annual event so we'll be sure to let you know if we do it again this year - it was great fun and a VERY beautiful area, although not sure I want to plan it for monsoon season again, haha!

I hike with a group that has regular Yoga-Hike combo programs. In fact, I'm in the process of submitting the schedule right now for the Apr-June quarter which will include a Monday night Toga Hike and we have one every-other-Sunday as well. I'm still too stiff to be able to do much yoga but hoping to take an 'adaptive' yoga class so I can learn the poses and how to make them work for me.

Looking forward to getting to know you better!

Thanks for the warm welcome, LindaKay228. Silver City is a lovely area. Only been there once, and know I should visit again sometime for a SUMMER vacation!

Last Sunday, I went on a lovely Yoga-Hike combo at South Mountain Park. Y'all can see my photo-blog on SP, if you want to know about yoga-hiking (smile).

Oh I know how hot it can be in Phoenix in the summer! My daughter lived there for about a year several years ago (actually in Mesa). The summer was soooo hot when I would go to visit. But I was also there in February and I remember it felt so good and I was in shorts and tank tops. I live in Silver City, in the southern part of New Mexico, and at the time we were bundling up here but when I went over there is was heavenly. However I'll take my area in the summers LOL! Glad you've got such a lot of places so close to go hiking, and look forward to hearing about them!

Hello from Phoenix, Arizona. Hiking season is ON for me! We have loads of huge city parks with hills & mountains. This is the season when I can hike after just a short drive of 10-30 minutes to arrive at the city or county park of my choice.

In the summer, when Phoenix is too hot, I have to drive at least 90 minutes to the mile-high+ areas of AZ.

I'm looking forward to the discussions on this forum. :D
