I'd like to do the north/south rim day hike....have a list of peaks I'd like to get to as well, Mt Hood, Mr Rainier for example. We've hiked a lot in the southern Utah NP's and they are all great, as well as my beloved Sierra's.

There are a couple of areas near my house that I like to hike during the week. Then there are a bunch throughout Arizona that are great. I have several dream hikes. One is down the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and up the South Rim in one day. I've hiked up once from Phantom Ranch - it was beautiful. I also dream about hiking the Appalachian Trail, after reading the book A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson.
