Double Rainbow Tarptent from Henry Shires. I wore out the floor on my old one - need more room since there is two and a dog now. I also need a new pair of trail runners - I found holes in the lining of my current pair!
I'm aiming this year for more overnight trips and even have a 207 mile trip planned. I have some gear but need a few new things for the long hauls. Need a compass, light sleeping bag and mat, new boots and I'd like a few gadgets like the ultra light headlamp and multitool. Lots of little things. Oh.. and trekking poles! Great for eliminating tent pole weight too.
Great question! I have everything I need for day hiking, but now need to start buying gear for overnight backpacking. So, I need it all - sleeping bag, tent and backpack. Unfortunately, none of it is cheap :(
Losing weight is a little like hiking. If you only look at how big the mountain (or how much you want to lose) is, it becomes overwhelming. But, if instead you look just 5 feet (or 5 pounds) ahead, it isn't quite so hard!
I don't know if this would be considered hiking gear, but I'd love to get this waist belt thingy that has a water bottle on each side and a huge pocket on the back. Sorta like a fanny pack just on steroids, LOL. I could use this while hiking and biking.

I'm celebrating my SEVENTH anniversary with SparkPeople in the June 3-9, 2007 class.
I have most of what I need, but I do need new hiking boots. I'm going to REI in the next couple weeks to try and find some. I need to break them in before backpacking in June. I would also like a new sleeping bag. Mine's not bad and it's lightweight, but I'd like one a little warmer for colder weather.

Do you have a "wish list" of hiking gear? If so, what is on it?
