Great question! I want to hike the Grand Canyon (and if I can get a backcountry permit for this fall, I am!!) and the Havasu Falls area. There is also a hike along South Mountain here in Phoenix that is 15 miles long. One of these days, I'm going to do it!

More dream hikes? All of them. Every single place there is to hike, I want to hike it.

Losing weight is a little like hiking. If you only look at how big the mountain (or how much you want to lose) is, it becomes overwhelming. But, if instead you look just 5 feet (or 5 pounds) ahead, it isn't quite so hard!

I had to think about this one...but I think mine would have to be the Grand Canyon. Explore & hike every bit of it :)

Good for you. I grew up the same way, trying to keep up with my dad. he loved the stories and photos right up to the day he died. I miss those times almost as much as when we went out together.

Hmmm...I just want to be able to hike right up close to the day I die, doesn't really matter where.
My dad was never an outright hiker, but he did climb our local Mt Moosilauke regularly as a boy/adult. Now he has all he can do to walk on level ground. So he really enjoys when I come up with photos, stories of going hiking, and is a little sad that he just can't do things like that anymore.

well, my goal has been to make it to the top of Half Dome... so that's the first one, but I might add something in Alaska.

I have the same dilemma, what to pick! For hikes I've done, I'd add the hike to the top of Half Dome, it's a butt kicker, with a great view at the top, and a lot of challenges, plus, Yosemite!

For one I haven't done (except for parts here and there) I think I'd pick the John Muir trail. The parts I've been on have been fantastic, and I'd like to get the rest of it done!

Hard to add just one, lol...

For me it's a toss up between a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail or hiking somewhere in Hawaii. I hope to do both someday, the thru-hike after I'm retired since I don't have an option of taking a few months off of work.

I was browsing on Amazon.com the other day and came across the book: "1000 Places to See Before You Die", and it got me thinking. So here's the question: What place would you add to a list of "Places to Hike Before You Die?"

It could be a place you dream of going, or a place you've hike to often...
