1) I want to feel the way I felt when I was running 2 miles a day... or even better!
2) My jeans no longer fit as I've gained 15 pounds since August
3) I am going on vacation in May, I'll be in a bikini so I need to be stunning! =]
4) My husbands entire family is diabetic, I want to change our household into something healthier, so I need to take the first step
5) I want to feel confident, and the best way to get there is to start working out and taking good care of myself!

1. I'm getting married in 8 months, and want to be fit, toned and healthy in my new wedding dress
2. I'm over expecting to have amazing results with little to no effort
3. I do feel good about how far I've come, but I'm need to make that commitment to end the weight loss journey.
4. I don't enjoy how my parts have gotten "jiggly" again

I was sparked by:
1. Turning over a leaf in other areas and wanting to look as well as feel like a new person.
2. Feeling overweight (chafing, breathing hard, breaking out in places that didn't get enough airflow, not looking good in skinny jeans anymore, and no longer being noticed/approached by attractive guys).
3. My sister, who is a mean, lean workout queen.
4. Realizing that the guys I am attracted to are more health-conscious than I am, and I need to be the type of person I want to attract.
5. Wanting an exciting hobby.

Hi, I'm new here. Please to meet you all. Here are my 5 reasons.

5. I don't want to be the fat one.
4. I want to look good in photos. I don't want to have to make stupid faces every time someone takes a photo just so I can PRETEND that I made myself look ugly in the photo on purpose.
3. I want to be able to buy cute clothes. Why is it that anything cute and cheap is "free-size" only?
2. I want to reduce my bust size. I'm an Asian and everyone there looks at me like I'm some sort of freak.

While I have been coasting through this program I realized today that I needed to get serious.

1. I was out of breath when I got to the top of the stairs.

2) I used to be bulimic which is now in my past and I now want to loose a bit of weight in a healthy way without bringing back any issues.
3) I want to have more energy I'm sick of feeling tired and sluggish.

Hey, im Sarah and im from Montana. I was using spark ppl bout year ago and just wasnt commited enough..i joined again, mostly because i need more motivation and structure to keep me going. i am determined that this will be my last diet everrrrr....ive struggled wit havin an extra 10 to 20lbs for as long as i can remember, tho at one point i went on a crash diet and lost so much weight i was basically anorixic...so now im trying to have a positive healthy view of myself and my body so i dont get back into those problems again. but anyways, here are my top 5 reasons for wanting to lose weight -
1. So i can practice what i preach - to be confident and strong, live life to the fullest :)
2. Im tired of feeling down and depressed because im overweight and dont stick to my plans for getting rid of it
3. i am meeting this guy i kinda like in late august and i really wanna feel and look my best
4. i want to look hot!!
5.I have a whole bunch of clothes that are too small or that i bought in a few sizes smaller than im wearin right now...and i'd love to wear them finally
6. sorry, forgot a big one. most of my extended family tend to be very critical and judgemental of ppl who are overweight - looks are important to them. im tired of feeling like im worth less/not as cool/ not as respected as a person because im carryin a few extra pounds.

Hello, I am new to SP, though i am far from new to the dieting scene. I have had trouble with weight loss for the majority of my life. For a good while there I had gotten to weight I was happy with, but well... here I am with about 24 pounds to lose. I joined because because I really need the help and support. I really have no around me. The people around me hear the words "weight loss" or "diet" and shove more food my way.
What sparked my new lifestyle are:
1-to feel like the old me again
2- to have more energy
3- to feel good in my own skin again
4- to round off everything else that is going well in my life
5- I did...

1) I've had really bad insomnia for the past year, causing me to feel exhausted and tired all the time, which definitely played a part in my weight gain
2) This summer, I want to feel sexy and toned in my summer clothes and in my bikini! I want to lose 25 lbs and tone my tummy

1. My clothes are starting to not fit. I can't afford new clothes... besides, the bigger they get the more weight I seem to gain.
2. My family history and my boyfriend's family history. We both comes from backgrounds where there's a lot of overweight people.
3. New job prospects... I want to look and feel good. I want to dress up for work and look like a smashing good business woman.

1) I have been overweight all my life and fighting to lose the same 30 lbs for the last 10 years

my 5 reasons are:

1. To stop being the fat sister.
2. To be more respectable.
3. To Look Smokin Hot and make everyone who has ever said hurtful things to me, to eat their words.
4. To prove people wrong.
5. To be Happy.

I guess my reasons for losing weight are revenge more than anything else. But i think i had one of the hardest lifes with my weight. I was emotionally destroyed from my piers in one of the most dangerous schools in chicago. Not only was that bad, but i had to deal with it from my family as well. All my sisters are skinny and beautiful, and my mom is too. I'm the only one in my family that has a weight problem. Everyone else is in shape, I am dead serious. Why was i chosen to be the fat one, seriously. I'll never know why. I have been scrutinized for my weight for all 22 years of my life and went into depression, became jobless, lost religion and probably more i don't even know about. Being overweight was not excepted in my family when i grew up. But of course after you have a baby you can be fat in my family. Those were my grandmothers exact words. Now all my sister are fat and breeding machines and they never get scruntinzed. Damn does it make me angry. But all i can say, is that i am not going to be like that anymore. I have lost close to 40 pounds already and i am not stopping. I am going to become skinny and hot and never have a baby. I'm gonna make my sisters feel my pain everyday of my life. Despite revenge, i've noticed my weightloss has been making me feel better physically. The one thing that keeps me going everyday is that thought that i am going to be the sister that they wished they could be. I guess i'm kind of evil person, but these thoughts force me through my workouts. So it working.

hello everyone, I'm new first post and first and hopefully last attempt to kick start my controlled and healthy eating and fitness lifestyle......

My five things are:
1. To feel confident and happy that I am me,
2. To feel secure in my relationship and look my best for him,
3. To wear what i want from any store in a uk 12 and feel comforatble,

Hi everyone. It has been a while since I have joined Sparkpeople, but I am back and hopefully will be more successful this time!

Here are some things that have inspired me to lose weight.

1. My sister and mom have Diabetes (don't want it)

2. I'm a video game tester and can't fit into the dorky shirts that I want. I need to lose about 15 lbs more just to be able to fit into the 2xl sizes..pretty sad!

3. Tired of avoiding cameras and social settings

4. Tired of low self-esteem

1. Gain energy and confidence.

hi, i'm new so i guess this will be my introduction...

1. realizing i gained back 20 lbs over the last 4 years
2. the boy lost a lot of weight... and i don't want to be his chubby girl
3. i got a well deserved raise at work- i have the money for nice clothes, now i want the body for them
4. i am going to the wedding of a high school friend, so i have to see people i haven't seen for 7 years
5. constantly worrying about my dad and all of the complications that have come with his type 2 diabetes over the last 2 decades... and knowing i take after him

1. Looking in the mirror and realizing what I look like compared to what I used to be.
2. A friend looking at a picture from around three years ago and saying, "You were so skinny!" (I know she didn't mean that I was big, because I'm not, but I used to be an athlete...)

Hullo, everyone! As to be expected from this particular thread, I am new here and trying to get motivated to be fit and healthy!

5 Things that sparked my new lifestyle, huh? Well... Here goes...!

1. Looking through high school pictures. I didn't realize the weight I'd gained until I looked back at those embarassing years!
2. I want to keep up with the hubby. He's a military man, and if he can do what's required for the Air Force, then I should too!
3. Genetics. I can't deny that obesity is a common trait in my family pool, but I CAN deny it from overtaking my life!
4. Future health. I am fully aware that carrying around too much weight for a long period of your life can cause you problems that no one should ever have to deal with (ie, heart problems, even depression)
5. Self image. I want to finally look in the mirror and see a body I've always dreamed of obtaining. I want to feel sexy and confidant in the clothes I wear, the activities I participate in, and the people I hang around. I want to finally be able to say, "I love my body."

Hi everybody...I'm new so this will be my first post!
The reasons I want to lose weight are:
1. I am sick of trying to cover myself up all summer
while my friends are struting their stuff
2. I want to have more energy
3. I have IBS and over eating gives me really bad stomach aches :(
4. I've always been over weight so it would be nice to be referred to as "skinny" or at least average

Here's my top 5:
1. I have 4 kids and a husband that depend on me. It requires ALOT of energy!!

2. I hate having to pay more for clothes!! Especially bras. My bras have always been large for my size, but the larger I get, the larger THEY get. And the bigger bras are not pretty in any sense of the word.

3. I'm fixing to graduate in December of '09 and I want to be able to wear fashionable career clothing.

4. I want to FEEL healthier.

5. My hubby has recently been hospitalized for chest pain (we're still looking into the cause). I know that our weight puts us at risk for health problems, and I want to fix it.

1) i want to feel "normal"...i've always been overweight, and i just want to look like everyone else
2)i want to be able to grab something out of my closet and not worry that it's not going to cover my rolls of fat
3)i want to be one of those people that loves being outside hiking or running and just being active

1) I am depressed that I weigh more than I ever did and want to feel better.
2) I have a preemie son who needs me and I want to be healthy and energetic for him. (he's not preemie anymore, BIG BOY)

1.) for once in my life i want small thighs
2.) i have 7 pairs of expensive designer jeans. (i'm only uppity about my jeans, all of my other clothes i get from target and forever 21 :D ) i'd like to fit into all of them. right now i only fit into 1 pair.
3.) i want to turn heads while walking around in my swim suit.

5.) although i'm not overweight, it hurts my feet and ankles for me to stand for a long time. my ankles get swollen. i'm hoping if i get tiny i won't have this problem.

1) Pictures...yikes!
2) Clothes aren't fitting as well, and I really can't afford new ones
3) Tired of being the fat friend
4) Worried about health issues-depression, etc

1. Going back to school to become a nurse, and do not want to be an overweight nurse.

2. 4+ weddings in 2009. 2 are high school classmates, and I don't want to be the overweight classmate.
