Welcome to our team!

I haven't gone thru the hypERthyroid stage of the disease yet, but there's plenty of peeps on our team that have. Hopefully they will drop by with their advice.

As for things you can try on your own, l-Carnitine has been shown to be helpful for hypERthryoid disease.

Something on l- carnitine:

Here's a couple of scientific abstracts:

There's a prescription form of it, (Carnitor) but you can prolly do it cheaper OTC if $ is an issue.

A few years back mine went from 4.0 to 0.01 within a few months. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.

My doctor reassured me and she said that if you had 4 different blood draws during one day you'd get 4 different numbers--so there's normal fluctuation even within one day (like the day I tested 0.01 it could have been .10 or 1.0 earlier or later in the day).

For the last two years, my TSH has stayed in about the 1.0 area with meditations (for hypothyroid). So, it self-regulated somehow.

I hope your Endo reassures you as well and that it's not something more serious.

Keep us posted!

Hi. Glad I found this team!

I recently was hit with a surprise that I have hyperthyroidism. My TSH has always been normal (2.27 Feb) and now has gone from .10 to .01 in 1 month. Had CT scan and now on to an ultrasound and more blood tests and appt. with Endo.

I look forward to reading the information shared in this community as I am worried that I could end up needing Radioactive Iodine therapy to dissolve thyroid and I've heard of so many bad side effects.
