It's been closer to a week. I'm having trouble with my days with the fibro and may have posted when I received it on the wrong day. I'm sorry if I did that.

Best of luck with that Shell!

It sounds like you're determined it will work, and often that's all ya need to getcha where you're going, tighten your resolve to stay on your menu and exercize.

We are more than just flesh and bone, the mind and spirit are powerful things. And mabbe too, so are 2 grams of refined tuna protien before bed.

I ordered the Calorad and I checked it out too and it's working for my friend and maybe it will work for me too. She eats anything she wants and is still losing inches and weight. Maybe with me watching everything maybe it will work for me. I will keep everyone posted.

ya, Joy, I'd love for some of these things to be true, but I need to see studies before I'm convinced. Promises and anecdotal stories that fly in the face of science just don't do it for me when there is sumpin to sell.

IMO the entire premise that the body searches for exactly 2 gs of protien before it falls to sleep in order to burn fat all nite... what the heck is THAT all about, huh? LOL This original premise is flawed.

Evolution programmed the body to hold ONTO fat... fat was necessary to survive famines and sickness... before there were grocery stores and medicines. Our brains are 60% fat, our nerves coating, the myelin sheath is made of fat, the omentum is a fat organ that creates hormones in our bodies...and as we all know the body will preferencially burn muscle in many instances when glucose is depleted rather than touch its precious store of fat.

Its why its so bloody hard to loose wieght.

Perhaps there is some value here in placebo effect... if ya pay enuf for anything, its gotta work, right?

Better to buy some nice fish oil capsules and give your body the right feul to build a better brain, myelin sheath and healthy omentum, keep your blood vessel walls flexible.

LOL

Hey MZZ

Thanks for the info, I looked at the website too, dang!!! That stuff is way expensive, a lot more than street drugs LOL

Sounds like we could eat some tuna at bedtime and get the same results, huh? Tuna is really low cal, the solid white albacore in water that is, and it costs 1.85 a can for the best stuff available.

I do not buy into any of the fads or quick fixes, if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Hey Michelle!

I went to this site to find out what this was about. They were very vague on the ingredient description,on their site, so I emailed the company to get the full ingredient list. Here was their response:
~~~~~
Ingredients:
Protein, (derived from tuna) Aloe Vera, lemonade flavoring, potassium sorbate (preservative)
No stimulants, No drugs, No herbal stimulants.
Nothing to elevate the heart rate or the blood pressure.
This a FOOD, no side effects.
PER TABLESPOON:
10 calories, 0 carbs, 0 fat, 12 mg of Sodium, 2000 mg of Protein.
This is not an abundance of protein that creates stress on the liver or kidney.
Such as a Protein Meal Replacement drink/shake does.
This product contains the exact amount of protein your body needs.
When it is searching for protein in the first 45 minutes of sleep.
Everyone takes the same amount regardless of amount of weight needed to lose.
One tablespoon nightly.
We hope you find this helpful ;-)
~~~~~~~~
2000mg of protien = 2 grams of protien. A gram of protien is 4 calories so 2x4=8calories from the tuna protien. I suppose the other 2 calories come from the smattering of aloe vera in it.

That your body would be searching for exactly 2 grams of protien right before sleep, and that those 2 grams would feul fat burn during slumber sounds suspicious to me.

IMO best to save your money or invest in minerals or a good multi, or sumpin that you really want.

Thank you to all that responded to my original email. I greatly appreciate all fo your input. I guess that I am not the only one whol needs to vent. I still feel great even thought the weight is not coming off fast. I guess slow is the way to go. Well, I guess that is what I will have to do for now. Has anyone ever gone on a diet pill while on meds for thyroid? I know that one of you said a friend went on something. I asked my Dr. about putting me on something and she said that I should continue doing what I am doing. That was not what I wanted to hear.

yes it is tough to lose but don't give up. I've been battling this for 26 yrs since after my first preg. my highest weight was around 230! I'm just now going at it again with determination and will lose it this time. so many times I'd get upset and quit.

JAKARINNA- You might want to try weighing yourself without clothes on or with just underwear first thing in the a.m. I doubt you'll be wearing the same p.j.'s come summer time. And your aim is to be consistant. I only weight first thing in the a.m., after using the bathroom, and wearing only underwear. Throughout the day, you can add on up to 3-4 lbs just with the foods you're eating, sodium intake, clothes, humidity, etc.... the list goes on!
Even weighing a few days before your period (anbd during) affects your weight- I have the policy to never weigh 3 days before or during because when I have, I ALWAYS see an extra 2-3 lbs.

a friend of mine had her thyroid removed and she is taking something she bought off the site www.nodiet.com and has lost 3 pant sizes in 2 months. She said that it is the easiest thing that she has ever done.

I'm in the same boat, no thyroid since 1984 when I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. I gained 60 lbs in one year!!!!!! All I ever got was "eat less". Well, how much "less" than under 1000 calories a day can a person eat? Out of desperation, I went on Medi-Fast, 500 calories a day, exercised to 2 Jane Fonda every day, (I'm showing my age LOL LOL) tapes which make todays aerobics tapes look like a walk in the park, did one hour of weight training 4x a week, with a trainer who worked me really hard, and then in the evening took a walk up the mountain side for an hour and back. It took me over 8 months to loose 40 lbs with this schedule. After having a wonderful time with wearing nice clothes and eating normally, I was gaining it all back. During the time I was gaining the weight back I was still exercising although I had cut back to 1/2 my original exercise, eating around 1000 calories. No avail, it came back. No one could put up with what I was doing forever. I'm so frustrated. Now, I have been doing a protien shake for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and a lean cuisine for dinner and a protien snack bar in the evening. I have lost 5 lbs and am stuck now for over 2 months. I don't know what else to do. VENTING VENTING VENTING.

Vent away it is healthy for you. Most of us in here are dealing with the same thing. My question is how often is everyone weighing themselves and is there a better time of the day to get on the scale to get a decent reading. I try to weigh myself in the morning while I am in my nightclothes that way I am wearing the same thing. However a couple of times I have weighed myself in the evening instead and it will show a 2-3 lb difference.

Welcome to the group. Many of us here are in the same boat and feel your pain. As Hypo's we need a lot of water, fiber and few carbo's. I find that keeping carbs around 100 a day, drinking 10 cups (at least) of water and getting 30g of fiber help. I lost 5lbs since I got serious again at the beginning of January. However, last weekend we ate out 4 days in a row and not all choices were good. Put me back up 2lbs dagnabbit. There is hope it just doesn't happen quickly. Read the posts for tricks other members have come up with. There is a lot of good information here. If nothing else you know you're not alone.

Hi everyone. I have had my thyroid out for a year and a half now die to thyroid cancer. I gained so much weight before my three surgeries and it is so difficult to lose it now. I work out at the gym five times a week for 1 1/2 hours to 2 1/2 hours per day. I am eating right but nothing seems to be happening. Sure, I feel better and I lost only six pounds. I should be down a lot more than this by now. Thanks for letting me vent.
