Congrats on making the choice to live a better lifestyle! Remember this choice is about you, not pleasing your newlywed of a hubby, LOL, I had to learn that the hard way. Especially when he'd tell me "babe I think you're hot the way you look now." And I'd listen and quit eating right, quit exercising and try to eat like him-WRONG move! After talking to my doc, he explained that our metabolisms are different on SO MANY levels and that someone with my hormones and body type with my metabolism NEEDS healthy food, LOTS of water and lots of aerobic exercise. When I first started SparkPeople, I weighed 271lbs--that was on February 15, 2010...5 months later, I'm down to 197lbs! All by eating 1400 calories/50 fat grams a day of healthy food and MY CHOCOLATE, have to have my chocolate and by running, I run a 5k every morning before the small town I live in wakes up. It's me, the chilly air, my ipod and the BEAUTIFUL desert sun rise! Congrats again, on EVERYTHING, marriage, the big move, health, commitment, everything!

Been a "dieter" for years. No results. Just got married last fall and we are moving next week. I'm ready to make a fresh start and finally be healthy and feel good about myself!
