Hi, I'm Kate and I have been on diets for god knows how long. You name it I've tried it. They sometimes are healthy ie.weight watcher but some are pretty awful like the egg and grapefruit diet, starved for 3 days on that, lol.

I am beginning to realise that the best diets are the ones you can stick to for good, I hate being hungry and used to binge when I was a teenager on fries and cakes sometimes.

In the past, early twenty's, I lost loads of weight quickly and kept it off for a few months but then it slowly crept on again because I was using the same bad habits to control weight as I had done before. Even recently after losing weight quickly to get married, I gained it back in a flash.

So I don't know what your experiences are with diets...I would appreciate any advice and tips you have.

I have changed the way I control my weight loss now so that I won't feel hungry and get balanced nutrition too, trying noodles, pasta, rice to fill me.
Trying new recipes, grilling instead of frying, I don't think there is a right or wrong-just whats right for you!

I've started to realise: What fills me up for the longest, portion size and being ok about having treats etc.

I first joined SP back in 2007 but deleted that profile. I created three more profiles after that. This is my forth and final profile. I am staying here for good. I am here because I want to lose weight. I want to meet other people who are in the same position as I am, no matter if they have less than 20 lbs to lose or over a hundred to lose.

Great to meet you, FITFRIT—Heidi ...

Yes, it is good to know that when you succeed at reaching your goals, you are also helping others succeed ...

You do it for yourself, but not BY yourself ...

I started SparkPeople because I needed the help and I have stayed because I believe in the mission of SparkPeople. If out of the thousands and thousands of members only one person lost weight and kept it off it would be worth it. I want to lose the weight and keep it off and I know SparkPeople can help me do that, and if my story inspires someone else to know they can do it too then SparkPeople gets a little help from me as a thank you for the help I get from them.

First some clarification and inspiration:

I do think it may have started with being in competition (silly!) with some couple of people.

But I stayed because of ME ...

And now, I am here on Spark because of the ongoing support and I know that other people are working real hard ... my team is working real hard ...

and I won't let anyone down ... !

Tina emoticon to Spark!
