I've found this site especially helpful with the community of people who have "been there, done that." It's a very understanding crowd here, and one that will pick you up when you need it, and who will motivate you when you need it, too.
I suggest that you use the nutrition tracker. It's been a real eye-opener for me (enter EVERYTHING). And make sure to keep your food scale and measuring cups handy, as you'll need those all the time in order to make sure you have the right serving sizes.

Hi Mindy! I've noticed by looking at your ticker we are pretty much in step with what we want to achieve!
I am married, no children and a very spoiled cat named Buddy. I love my job, but it is also a desk job and I probably average 10 hour days. I love my hubby, but he is not particularly supportive when it comes to me losing weight. He keeps telling me he loves me just the way I am. I also have a mom who is a wonderful cook and worries that I'm sick if I don't have at least 2 platefuls of food (She worries about my brothers the same way, but because they have active jobs they are not overweight.)
I've gained and lost the same weight several times over the past 20-25 years and would like to be able to keep it off for good. While I have only lost 1 lb. during the 3 weeks I have been a SparkPeople member, SP has helped me start setting priorities and looking forward instead of worrying I'm going to fail again.

Hello everyone. My name is Mindy. I have two wonderful boys and a great husband. I have struggled with my weight after having my first child, and he's 16 now so I think it is time to get serious. I have tried Weight Watchers and had some success, but i have no will power. I am hoping to find people who have been where I am and can share stories about how they did it. I work at a desk job which limits much exercise during the day. I look forward to losing with all of you.
