Ok, critical-ish question, I have MS but when do I add resistance to the bike, lets assume I'm healthy! I bike two miles every day or so in 11 minutes!

Hi everyone,
I am still new to the spark experience, just joined in June, but so far this has been the most positive experience ever. The support I get from others is such a motivator. i am learning so much about myself and how to become healthy. I am not just losing wieght I am gaining the tools to be successful and healthy while losing the pounds and that is making this journey so self satisfying. I just want to thank you all for your support .

Today is my best day and tomorrow can only be better

I have a long way to go and I have trouble staying motivated. I;m just back from being out of town for our oldest daughter's bridal shower. I didn't make great food choices. Time to get back to it. Old habits are hard to break, but I'm learning to like healthy foods, so I'm making progress. emoticon

It isn't what you lose but what you GAIN on here. I tell myself this mostly when I am avoiding exercise, which I finally did today! Gotta push myself, don't we all, that's why we are here for each other!! Right???!!!!

Welcome to everyone! I've just been on here since February but it is remarkable. I haven't lost a ton of weight yet but I'm getting my mind and emotions a little more in-line. Every resource on here is great - tracking food & fitness, reading Healthy Lifestyle articles, reading blogs of people slugging through the same journey as I am. It's great!

Welcome Katrina! Glad you are all this lifestyle changing journey. Sounds like you have done great losing five pounds so far in half a month. I was always told that the weight didn't happen over night and it won't come off quick either. The slower the better off you are to get the weight off because you have a better chance of not gaining it back.

I Katrina,
I'm getting started on here too. I think it is great we can help one-another out, which is needed in any huge venture. My bf is supportive, but he gave up one food and lost ten pounds in less than a month, not fair!! And he almost never works out, but does have a factory job, where mine requires me to sit most days. I have given up diet soda, cereal, milk, and any kind of sugary snacks and only lost 5 pounds in half a month. I know I b@#CH too much about not losing weight quickly, but I have to remember it took me two years to put this weight on, I won't lose it in a week!! P.S. I'm in Canal Winchester if anyone wants to get together, sorry can't go walking or bike riding in this heat, I have MS, I am stuck inside during the summer.

You will get a lot of advice, support and cheering along your journey from posting on the boards here daily or a couple times a week. I have learned that if I track my food intake and fitness, it helps motivate me to continue to make the lifestyle changes that I need to lose my weight. Plus posts on the team boards helps me alot too. This is a great website with a lot of free support. They have great articles to motivate you and give you advice.

I am Beckah Joy and wanting to make friends on this weight loss journey b/c w/o friends I will not be able to get to my goals. I am one who has always required a friend to back me up on my journeys.
