Hello Chelsea, I know where you are coming from. I get into these modes where everything I eat is just unsatisfying. I want something and I don't know what it is and I am going to try everything until I find it.
However, I have found that exercise is the key. If I get started into this mode, I just leave the area where the food is available and go do an hour of exercise. First of all exercise help me to diminish that hunger and it makes me tired enough that I can then control what I am putting into my body.
Also drinking more water at those times help me to be able to get past it. I am old at trying to loose weight but not yet a year at sparkpeople. For the first little while I was not very faithful to the site or to me. But I decided that I would set a date (mine was 12-26-2011) that I would start changing my life. I started buying up what I needed to help myself be successful. (protein drinks, frozen dinners for those times I need to eat, greek yogurt, healthy soups, etc)
I have lost 40 pounds since December 26th.
So maybe you just need to pick a date.
This is also a method that many people use to stop smoking.
