Good Morning,
I just joined SparkPeople last night and tracked my first meal this morning. It is kind of a challenge getting used to. The choices available don't necessarily match up with what I actually ate from the foods currently available in my cupboard. The calorie count was off compared to the listings on the actual food items, but it is close enough that I think I'll be able to find my way through this.
I can't do any grocery shopping until the middle of next week, so I'll have to just muddle through until I can get some of the right stuff in the house.
I'm 68 years young and have a goal of losing about 35-40 pounds. I've started calorie counting diets before and usually lost interest after a couple of months. Maybe this website and all of you will help me actually meet my goal this time. In general, I'm pretty healthy and had a good check-up at the doctor earlier this week, but I know I will feel even better if I can lose the excess baggage I'm carrying around with me every day.
I'm retired but not unemployed. I work two mornings a week and some computer work at home for a small church in a neighboring town. I do all their graphics, bulletins, newsletters, and keep the office organized.
I'm looking forward to getting to know others who are also challenged with excess weight and the desire to get it off.
