Welcome to the team!

I am also trying to get healthy for a baby. My husband and I have been working on it for close to a year and there is still no baby but we are going to keep trying until we get one. I am also trying to make my lifestyle healthier because I want to avoid all the different health problems that come with being over weight.
Welcome! This is a great place to get support and encouragement. Remember - you don't have to be perfect, you just need to keep trying. Keep coming back - it will definitely help you reach your goals.
I am also new and from NE Ohio in Amish country.
Good luck on your journey with restarting your life by gaining control of your body and health.
Just stay away from those Amish bake goods - they use lard when baking:-)

It's all about making small changes you can succeed with and then building on success, Michelle! You're doing great!

Hi everyone. My name is Michelle. I am from a little town called Beach City (no there is no beach). I live really close to Amish country. I am 41 years old. Next month i turn 42. :( wow i just realized that. lol I am here at Spark People because I want to get healthy. I want to get rid of my Type II diabetes. I want to get healthy enough to have a baby. I know, late start but i just finally found the man of my dreams and am ready.
Yesterday was my first day on Spark People. I did really good until the evening. I had a little emotional upset and it caused me to eat a little over my limit. I didn't get any exercise in neither. I know we aren't suppose to worry so much about what we eat the first week as much as we are suppose to read up on starting out so, i am not so worried about it. This site has been great so far. I love all aspects of it and logging food in was really easy.
I look forward to getting to know you all and working together to be fit.
My success depends on my willingness to do what I have to do to achieve my goals.
it was easy, everyone could do it. You are the one who will make it. And don't forget the finish line pose!
