I know how you feel about the meds for high blood pressure. That is one of my goals to get of the meds. The one I am on has a diaretic in it. the bathroom and me are really good friends. Plus all the water I have been drinking. My family starts joking about it sometimes. They know if they can't find mom to look in the bathroom.
Hello everyone! Not am I only new to SP but I am also new to this team. The reason I joined this team specifically is because I was diagnosed with high blood pressure in the year 2000. The highest was 150/100. My doctor put me on meds but the lowest it would ever go was 120/80. Never under that. I have only been a member of SP since the 6th of April. I went to the dr. for my checkup this pass Friday. My blood pressure was 112/70. I was nearly in tears. I could not believe it. I have been on the same medication since I was diagnosed. Hopefully I can start being weened off of the meds. I am actually getting use to not having too much sodium in my diet. Just to add, I am a 43 year old mother of seven children and I have my first grandchild on the way. He's due in July and I am getting ready so I can chase him like I do my two and a half year old daughter now, but much better.
Never would've made it without you. I would've have lost it all but now I see how you were there for me. I can say, I'm stronger, I'm wiser, I'm better, much better. When I look back over all you brought me through. I realize I made it because I had you to hold on to. I made it! By Marvin Sapp

Running with my very active boys is just what I want to do. That and go camping and hiking with them and their cub scout dens. This summer I have a weeklong day camp that I have to be at and also in August both boys are going to scout residence camp where we will be camping out for three days with a lot of walking and hiking. Just to get through those events will make it worth while. Plus, my daughter is getting married in July. Talk about STRESS. Need to learn not to sweat the small stuff.

Hi my name is Lori and I just joined this team. I am an overweight mom of two boys in school and two kids out of school. I decided about a month and a half ago to loose the weight that I have been slowly adding over the last 20 years. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure about 3 years ago. I was put on a low dose medication then. But sometimes my medication doesn't do the trick. I have noticed that the last couple of weeks I have felt better and my blood pressure is down. Not normal but down.
I thought that I would introduce myself to the team and hope to get to know more of you.
