Welcome! I too worked for CPS for the last 12 years. I worked family preservation, child placement specialist, developmental disability specialist, back to family preservation, then my last couple of months I did foster care. I then left and came here to the dept. of state health services to do case management with children with special healthcare needs (my passion!) in March. LOVE it here. but my experience at CPS was invaluable!!

Hello, everyone! I'm new to the team and wanted to say hello. I've been on SP a couple of years now, but really only FINALLY got this thing down in the last 3 1/2 months. Doing great now and loving life! I am a Child Welfare Consultant for the NC Division of Social Services currently and do the occasional Federal contract job as well. I have been in child welfare since 1991 (dinosaur!) and I've done everything from CPS to Adoption and everything in between. What I do now is Quality Assurance/CFSR and Child Fatality Reviews. I am also an adoptive parent as in 2006 I adopted my daughter from foster care - she was almost 15 then and is now 20! I am also the birth mother of two sons who are 22 and 24. I do a lot of fun things as well - medieval re-enactment is a hobby, and I sing lead in a symphonic metal band (yeah, I know - dissociative identity disorder anyone?). I look forward to walking this journey of health with you all!
