Hi everyone,

My name is Emame and I've been in Toronto for about 8 months. I've also been a SP member for a while but I fell off the wagon and am looking forward to getting back on track in my weight loss goals. I'm excited to meet new people and I know that this will finally be my year.

Hello everyone,

Hi!
My name is Kimberly. I have been on SP but not very active. I am working or I should say, I am trying to work on getting a healthy eating and fitness lifestyle. I have a window of opportunity to reverse diabetes type 2 and have now decided to do everything in my power to make this happen.

I am an HR professional, love to read, watch sports, meet with friends in restaurants or bookstore cafés. I recently began getting back in to photography and am enjoying it.

Any means of support is greatly appreciate it.

Hi all, my name is Laura.

I've been on SP for a few years but really became serious about my tracking and lifestyle changes since August of this year. I am on a weight loss journey, still at the start of the process, but making good progress. I am primary caregiver for my two kiddos with a husband who travels for work, so my workouts tend to be home-based. I have found that I've started doing well since I began blogging here, it seems to help keep me focused. Other stuff: I am a writer, a theatre person (mostly directing), I'm a political junkie (who keeps that part of my life off SP, so don't worry) and a terrible housekeeper. I have lived in Toronto for seven years and I still feel like a newcomer. I will be moving to the US in the new year, but for now I'd love to connect with some locals!

Hi I am Marie...I have been using this site off and on for a while now....I am new to Toronto....I look forward to some Toronto support and encouragement...my new session of focus begins October 1...I am committing to regular workouts again then...I have had a lower back injury in recent weeks that has limited me to just minimal walking.

Hi!
I recently joined SparkPeople (Aug 13 2012) and started a low-carb diet a few days prior to joining the site. In just over a month I've lost 15lbs and shed a few inches off my frame! Nice to have a local team!

Hi Mandalina. emoticon This is a great website. Get to know as much as possible by looking at as many things as possible.
Remember this is a lifestyle journey so take it as it comes. Don't try to do everything at once. My best advice is to track all your food first. This is one of the best features of this site. It helps you not only track your calories but your nutrition too. Even on your worst days, still track. You'll find your triggers and helpers. You can also see what kind of foodie you are. If it helps, use the tracker to see how much energy and stress you are under. Find out if you eat because you're bored, angry or stressed if you are an emotional eater.
Track your exercise when you start. Again start slowly because you don't want to overdue and hurt yourself and quit because it's too hard. Work up to it.
It took time to gain the weight, it will take time to lose the weight.
For now just try to feel better about yourself by celebrating small goals like staying on goal for that day.

Hi

I have known about this site for a couple of years, but wasn't in the mind set to do something with it.

I have finally gotten my life to the place where I m happy with the direction I'm going. The only thing that I feel like I have not gotten right is my eating and exercise. I need to lose 200lbs.. No that's not a typo. I need to lose 200lbs and probably have skin removal surgery at the end of it.

I live alone and have no family in this province and gained 130lbs since moving here in the last 10 years. Its time to lose it and stop emotional eating.

So this is the beginning for me... gulp.
Here I go :)

Hi Active Toronto. I recently moved from Minneapolis, MN to Toronto. Currently living in Etobicoke (just found out the 'k' is silent) :). I have reached my current weight loss goal, and am working on muscle tone, and staying healthy overall. I love this city, and there are lots of fun ways to stay fit. I already have a new way to exercise without ever leaving my apartment-chasing pigeons off my balcony! I wonder if the neighbors think I am crazy.

I'm from Scarborough and retired. I've been with SP since January 2012 and I'm loving my new lifestyle although I still have to get my butt moving and exercise on a regular basis.
My goal is to lose 23 Kilos by late fall (I've already lost 9K). Then I hope to be off all my meds for HBP and

Hello all! I actually live in the Guelph area, moved here June 2011 :). Was on Spark in 2009, lost the weight then Jan 2011 was up 20lbs and hadn't reached my goal! Now here to get to my goal and feel healthy and strong :)
