Hi I'm Judy. I restarted Spark People in Jan 2014 after regaining most of the weight I had lost in 2012. Funny how that weight keeps coming back... Well not this time! I'm trying to take it slower. I've adding one new healthy habit at a time.

Well I seem to have constant ups and downs. Good days and bad days when i am depressed it is worse. I think a lot of it is because i have super low confidence. But i am really determined. I got my black belt a few months ago and am getting ready to be in a new fighting division. I was good in my last division and i am determined to be great in this one!

Hi!!
I'm Corinne and I'm a food-a-holic! Really I am. I eat jelly bellies and salt and vinegar chips chips at work for an afternoon destress snack. I'm a nurse with many achy joints, with a sister, mom and niece all with heart problems. I also have a caring doc who is helping me get on track to lose weight and to keep my diabetes under control by griping at me every visit. My goal is to be down to 199 by sept 5th when I see him again. I am not new to sparkpeople, but lost my way a while back and have finally found my way home again.
Looking forward to mini challenges. Off to pick my 5 to start tomorrow, and to post starting weight.

Hello,
my name is Tammy I am new to spark people and this team. I'm hoping to shed some pounds on my journey with spark people. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me, my main problem is motivation. I am hoping with these mini challenges and my determination and will power this will work.

Welcome to all the other new members.

My name is Anita, I am new to the group. I am looking for some challenges to shake thing up for me, I have been at a stand still for 5 months not losing at all, I gain 2 then lose that or gain 1 and lose that up and down up and down weekly and it is driving me nuts.. I also see my self not making any physical changes, I wear the same size clothes are not tight nor lose .I track both my food and my fitness, I eat about 1300 calories a day, I cannot work vigorously like cross fit and jogging any more due to my knee injury but I can walk and I can ride my bike and swim which I do and strength work.. any ways I will shut up and listen because this old dog needs to learn a new trick or two..

Hi, this is Dawn.

I have been getting overwhelmed and not being consistent with exercise, eating healthy and tracking both. I need to keep things simple so that I don't get frustrated and give up like I have in the past.

My goals are to:
1) walk at least 10 minutes a day consistently and track that
2) eat healthy and track that

Once I get consistent with these goals I can add on to them.

Hi everyone! I've been a member of SparkPeople for years, but kept slipping and going away for different reasons. But now I'm back and committed and here for the long haul. I can't wait to get going on some challenges and watch this weight start to come off.

Hi! I've just joined this group as it seems like a fantastic idea! One week at a time... I like it. I previously lost 20 lbs but gained back 8 and am looking to lose the remaining 15 + 8 now. I fell off track halfway through. Right now, I'm struggling to avoid my gorging episodes that I frequently have with chips, sweets, cakes, chips, nachos, chips... I need to get back my discipline that I had when I first started! I'm also trying to work exercise into the mix and finding I go either all or nothing and neither is good. So, mini-challenges.. help me out here haha.

Hi everyone, I am trying to start over, again. It seems to be a pattern for the last five years. I have lost 12 pounds this year alone to put back on 3 but I am ready to take those off along with another 30. I have decided that life is all about me now that my youngest child is a junior in college and my husband and I are "new" nesters. I decided to join this MC for starting over to help me give up soda and sugar once again, they are my arch enemies. I'm ready to start see you on the flip side:)

Hey everyone, I'm Cassie. I've been on Spark for quite some time now (some years more faithful than others). But using Spark in combination with an introduction to zumba helped me to lose 60 lbs about 2 years ago. I've slowly put back on 50 of those lbs (20 from being lazy and the other 30 since October 2013 when I started dealing with a great tragedy). I'm ready to start putting myself first again, but having a hard time finding that motivation. I'm huge on challenges, they really seem to motivate me...so that's why I joined the group. Here's to finding my motivation again while shedding those 50 (and then some) lbs!

Good Morning,

I have been watching my weight creep up from last November and now I'm closet to 20 lbs heavier than I was last summer. Portions too big, too many excuses and too much wine. I've always exercised a lot and am very active but I just eat too much. I worked so hard over a year ago to lose the weight and am mad at myself for gaining it back. Looking forward to the mini-challenge and learning to take one day at a time.

Good morning everyone. I'm Nancy - I'm a lifetime member at WW, and the lbs are slowly creeping back on. I know I need to start getting back to taking better care of myself and thought this challenge would be a good place to start. I have a busy week with lots of company until Saturday, but will try to do the best I can.

Finally got on the scales this morning. I'm up 10 lbs from a year ago. Going to focus on trying to get 5 off by the fourth of July.

Hi everyone,
I found SparkPeople 8.5 years ago while on mat leave with my first baby. Since then I've had another been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and have basically stopped exercising and tracking what I ear result overweight, overfat and very uncomfortable. I have set a LT goal to weigh 142 by my 42nd BDay in October.

Hi, I'm Holly.
I've used sparkpeople off and on for the last 4-5years, last week I started using it again tracking my food and exercise. I decided I wanted to join a team that would be active in challenges, but not so active you can't possibly respond to those post, and this team looks like a great fit. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

hi, everyone. I just joined this team. I've been a part of SP since July 2007. I had reached my goal weight and maintained it until last year. It was a year full of many challenges and lots of stress. I ended the year having put in 30 pounds. This year my situation has settled down and I've been able to refocus on good eating habits and exercise again.

I've read some of the previous MCs and look forward to the weekly challenges.

Hello!

I'm back and trying to get serious again with this after a couple years of stressors and being extremely busy, I had trouble trying to track things, eat properly, keep exercising, etc. I had my elderly aunt, whose affairs I had to manage as her health declined and after a few years she eventually passed away. I fell and broke my wrist and had the joy of working one handed for several weeks. I had an old ankle injury that now prevents me from running (but it doesn't stop me from walking!) Work was chaotic and a lot of things were changing. We were doing a lot of travel to help run Magic events - which is long hours of work in convention centers, where it's nearly impossible to manage healthy meals at regular times. At any rate, it was stressful enough that I gradually gained about 30# in five years.

So now that things have quieted down a bit (except for now having a dog with cancer), I'm working on getting back on track, and this team seemed like it could be helpful.

Hello!

I recognize so many of your stories. I was at goal weight 1 year ago. Since then I have gained 15 pounds and lost my muscle tone. How did it happen? By eating whatever I want, not exercising or tracking my food and drinking too much wine.

Time to FOCUS. I need this challenge so I can come and post and hold myself accountable. We can do this Sparkers!

Here I go again!

I've committed to losing weight so many times i cant count. done it all; WW, myfitnesspal.com, ediets - just found about 100 page print out from 2007 of ediets meal plans. You name it!

I've been within 5 pounds of the same weight for 8 years. I slowly gained 40 pounds over 8 years after a change in job and an injury kept me from working out regularly.

After reviewing SP going to re commit. I have to believe this time will be different.

4/7/14 I can do this

emoticon I went from being toned and happy, comfortable with myself to being very uncomfortable, it happened after I move to Bakersfield. Not over night but a slow process where my emoticon And I would fight about food he had to put Alfredo sauce, well, this is no good without the ton of butter or bacon. On and on it went. I was actually repulsed by the food, but we were on a budget and he made it and on and on I go. So here I am hoping to get unstuck from this mess and just overwhelmed. Here I go it's my choice not his or anyone else. I will get back on track and comfortable again.

I've been a member on Spark for quite awhile. I've managed to lose 15 pounds. I do better when I am completely focused and track everything. I've lost my focus and am trying to gain it back. I thought having a new challenge to focus on weekly would help.

Hello everyone!

I am new to Spark people. I joined because I need some accountability. I am trying to make consistent healthy choices and exercise on the regular, and I want to surround myself with others who want to do the same.

I've read some of the other "hellos," and I find myself in a similar boat. I find that I go on a health binge, every few months getting toned and in shape. I have a bum knee. I was born with it. Even the extra pound or two here and there strains and pains. I used to binge diet and exercise, but always found myself gaining weight and hurting every few months. I decided it was time to make a consistent change.

Thanks in advance for all the encouragement and motivation! Hope I can help you all in some way too :)

Hi, new to Sparkpeople, been on for 12 days now. I have a really bad habit of quitting what I start but am determined to keep going this time and not let little hiccups make me throw in the towel.

Hi guys, I am not new to Sparkpeople, this is about my third time but I have been active since September 2013. I seem to do really well for a while and then it is a full out binge and sit on the couch backslide. This time, I have only slipped up for about 3 days so I am trying to catch it before I gain all my weight back. I just need something new and engaging for me to feel more connected and motivated.

Hello to everyone. This is my second time with sparkpeople and I am really glad to be back. I am a caterer, who loves to bake. Fortunately I don't eat baked goods, except donuts from mighty fine in Erie, my hometown. I am trying to lose 30 pounds by my birthday. I was also proposed to so I would like to look nice in my wedding dress. More importantly, I want to present a healthy example to my children and grandchildren and learn to like myself again.

Hi all. Been a member of Sparks for awhile, but hardly come here. Last 2 years have been rough with learning to walk again etc. I do pretty good now. Need to get back on track with eating, drinking my water and exercise. I know I need to be here more. Joining a mini-challenge seems the right way to get back on track. emoticon

I have been a member of Sparks for a fairly long time but give up usually after some success.
The new goals every week will help me to be consistent, I and help me to keep

I live in the south eastern region of the Province of Quebec near the Vermont and New Hampshire borders. Winter is sitting heavy on my soul right now. As I write the temp. is -20C.
However, the work on this will be a real help.

Good morning.
I have been a member of Sparks for a fairly long time. I have had some success, but, I usually give up before I finish..
Right now winter is heavy on my soul .I live in the south eastern part of the Province of Quebec very close to the New Hampshire and Vermont borders. As I write the temp is -20 C. However the sun is shining and the days are much longer.
I wish you all the best (and me too) emoticon I am very sure that the team will bring me success.

I'm Mary and I'm buried in snow in northern Michigan. I have been absent from Spark for 6 months due to a broken leg. Now that I am healed, I am more determined than ever to get fit and lose weight. Mini-challenges should help me along.

Starting over. I live in west central Florida. Looking forward to taking the weekly mini challenges. I tend to get lazy with diet and exercise so working on short term goals will help with my long term goal, I hope! emoticon

Hey guys,

Been a part of this team for a while, but never post. Actually had fallen off the spark wagon all together. But I'm back! After finishing nursing school I feel I can put my focus on my next goal, which is to lose weight. Love the mini challenges, keeps you going and I'm excited to get going.

Hello to all!

I just recently joined this team. Since it's a New Year, it's a perfect time to start over and to do it repeatedly if necessary in order to keep that momentum going. That's why I think this team is going to be a great addition to some of the amazing spark teams I already belong to.

Wishing every one lots of progress in the New Year!! emoticon

Hey everyone!
My name is Bree, I joined sparkpeople a long time ago actually, but rejoined a few days before New Years.
I am 23, studying to become a Speech Language Pathologist, am engaged, and from Washington State.

I have a few disabilities that have led to 4 surgeries in 5 years, but things are finally looking stable which means I can take a real stab of getting back down to the weight I was before the surgery.
I am looking forward to the mini challenges, and will start with the one next week!

Hi Everyone :) I'm Heather and I'm 29 from Delaware. I'm not new to Spark, but I'm new to the team! I'm back because I'm finally ready to take charge of my health and this team seems to be just what I need! I've been diagnosed with high bp and also with pcos over the past month, so I need to get in control of my health, especially while I'm still young-ish. I've struggled with my weight almost all of my life. I have trouble sticking to things and seeing them through, so I'm determined to do that this time!

If anyone wants a friend, feel free to add me, I need all the support I can get and give! :)

Hello. Matt here. I live in Peoria, IL with my wife and teenage daughter. Been on this journey before, but really let my so go. So, time to get it back and break that 200 lb barrier....actually, I would like to shatter it, but slow and steady is the best..

Hello and an early Happy New Year to all!!

I'm Robbie. There's quite a bit of info about me on my SparkPage, so I won't go into too much detail here.

I take daily medication for Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and Cholesterol. I had open heart surgery in May of 2012. I have completely recovered and do my Phase 3 Cardiac Rehab twice a week with a personal trainer and all in all feel pretty doggone good!!

As with many, my problem isn't knowing what to do - it's doing what I know!! But usually, having someone to hold me accountable and to provide motivation is a big help. I hope and expect that will be the case with the various teams!!

Thanks in advance for any and all help, guidance, motivation, tips/ideas, etc.

Robbie

Hi everyone, I started with Spark back in 2010, did good til the death of my brother in 2011, fell completely off the wagon in January of 2013 and now I am back to start again. At my highest weight I was 217 (I'm 5'1" to put that in perspective), I got as low as 153 and now I am back up to 180. I don't want to go back to where I was, so I decided to take my journey back to the beginning, that means Sparking, being held accountable, keeping a food and fitness journey and being 100% honest when I find myself slipping. I just happened across this gorup and I know mini-challenges are just what I need.

Hi everyone! I need some help and so thought I'd try this mini challenges team. I'm not really sure how teams work. I had lost and maintained weight for some time but this past year I regained 10 lbs and would like to lose that plus 5 more(my cardiologist says I should anyway!). However, I'm finding it difficult to get started. I'm 66 and retired. Enjoy volunteering, reading, going online.

Hey everyone! I'm new to the team, but not new to Sparkpeople. I joined in 2008, got off track, and am back to stay! I love the idea of mini-challenges to keep you motivated. So far I have my own mini challenges, like attending zumba at least 3X per week, and strength training 2X per week. So far I've been keeping with it emoticon

I'm also looking for a Spark friend, to help keep me accountable and to stay on track together. So if anyone is looking, just send me a message emoticon

Hi All,
I have been on Sparks since 2006. It is an interesting journey. I am looking forward to mini-challenges to keep me focussed and from straying off my trail. Three things I have learned is that I need balance, tracking and challenges to keep on that track. When I have them the pounds come off when I stray they come back. Hoping these challenges will help with my motivation.

Hi, I am new to Spark. I am looking for a place to help keep me motivated since I seem to waffle and therefore my weight keeps going up and down. This sounds like just the group I need. I like the idea of weekly motivators/goals. Short term feels easier than looking at the long term goal. Glad to be a part of the group.

My name is Faye, I'm 24 years old and I'm overweight by about 80 lbs or so. This is something that deeply bothers me because in May 2014, I'll be graduating from medical school and will be a fully fledged M.D. I feel a little ridiculous at times because I know what I need to do physically to lose the weight but I have a hard time overcoming my mental barriers. I've always been heavy my entire life and my emotional attachment to food can be a little scary, especially whenever I'm stressed.
This group is perfect for me because while I love visualizing the big picture, I struggle with the day to day. I love the opportunity the weekly mini-challenges provide to focus on smaller goals and recommit whenever necessary.
I look forward to getting to know you all throughout this journey!!

Hi everyone I just joined the group. I am just wrapping up an 8 week fitness challenge (the last day will be the 14) so far in the last 7 weeks I have lost 19.3 pounds! I have lost a total of 37.6 pounds since re-joining Spark at the end of July. I didn't want to lose my motivation so I decided to join the mini challenge group for support!

In need of some challenges and this looks like the team to be on. Looking forward to the mini challenges each wk. Might take me a few wks to get the hang of all this, so hope you will be patient with me.
I am Sara from Guelph, On. Canada, and I am 53 yrs old, and have been a SP member for a few yrs now. Have been in and out of SP and found that I needed the encouragement that I get from fellow team members, so a few months ago I rejoined.

Hi, I'm Catherine & I just came back to SP. As I've seen others comment, it works when you work it. MC's seem like a good idea and I also like the idea of being able to start over infinitely.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Hi, my name is Chrissy. I've been on a mission to live a healthier life and doing pretty well, I'm down a total of about 30 lbs over the last few years, but I feel like its time to refocus and get some help with staying motivated and on track. I love the idea of starting fresh every week and I'm excited to get started with you all!!
