Hi, I'm Jan and I, too, am looking for motivation, accountability and consistency. I've been on Spark people for 4 or so years now, but not consistently. I had lost about 65 pounds just prior to and a few months after joining and though I've managed to keep most of it off, I am constantly battling putting back on anywhere from 15-25 pounds and have decided that even though I'm not usually a "joiner", I need to start making myself more accountable when I start to slide. I do really well for a while and take the weight back off, but then "reward" myself by eating all the junk I've been cutting back on for so long! I know that I'm most successful when I track my food, but after I lose the weight, I tend to stop and before long the weight starts creeping up again. Time to break that cycle!

Good day to you all! I'm Diana (or SisterSue, or CrunChewy, or Ms. Magnolia) and I've been on Spark People forever, it seems. I recently had to take a month off so I could move across the country from Sacramento, California to New Orleans, Louisiana. I haven't been great about maintaining consistency, which would explain my lack of progress, but I'm ready to get back into the routine of it again and get on track. Hi!! I'm Susan. I have been working at weight loss (seriously) for over 5 years. Recently I have been gaining back weight even thought I still eat clean, exercise..etc... really getting frustrated and upset over this.. I have been through long periods of plateaus but this is really crazy... I am glad to be here to perhaps get the motivation or some kick in the butt to get back to a steady goal.

Hi, I'm Em. Took me a year to lose 70 pounds. Took me two years to gain back 7. Took less time to gain back 10 more. I think the metabolism took a dive, then the attitude took a dive. I really need to really start over, so here I am, with a brand new attitude.

I joined Sparks in 2009.. I have never been very committed for more then a few months.
my lowest weight has been 165 my highest 218 Now I am at 191 emoticon
Need to get to a healthy weight for health reasons.

HI! new to the team, not new to Spark -- been way off-track the last few months and don't want to wait til the new year to get going in the right direction
I really like the idea of a new start each week. I don't know if I really have any goals for the last month of the year - maybe to lose a couple of pounds would be awesome. Mostly I want to get back into exercising and starting to eat better again.

Hi all...I signed up for a healthy holiday pledge at work, and will definitely need mini challenges along the way to my sign out day (Jan. 15th). I get extra points that goes toward a lower health insurance premium if I can lose at least 5 % of my current weight. Yes...I can do it!
Lots of veggies, starches....and exercise.

Thank you for starting this group to support all of us..I hope to encourage any and all of you with your mini (and maxi) challenges. First stop: a healthy and grateful-filled Thanksgiving... :)

Hi all,
My name is Nilda. I am an old spark member coming back after a very rough patch. I have been very for most of my life, gained 52 during my pregnancy, lost it all a year after giving birth, then gained it all within the past few months. I was on my way to making my lowest weight in a while but depression and bad food decisions aided in gaining it all back. I'm here to try and lose it all and hopefully keep it all off this time. I will lose weight to where I am close to goal and then I gain about 20lbs. of it back. I'm not sure if it's PCOS or me. I know that I am not as active as I wish I could be and when it comes to me doing something I usually get told that there is cleaning I can do or I'm not active. That's another story....

I cook healthy meals, try to keep as much processed food out of my house ( like HFC), track and track and track. Honestly the tracking isn't it cutting it any more and need challenges to vamp me up and motivate me. I have lost positive weight that way.

I'm tired of being fat, unmotivated and well just tired. With the tired part not sure if it's me/ way of thinking or if it's the PCOS. I want to be healthy not just here as person. I also have no support at home so it makes it harder.

Just joined today, been on and off on sparks but steady since Sept 2014. I am a co team leader of Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and belong to sparks coach and a couple of others, They have all helped but I seem to need more because I am not meeting goals. I do exercise about 2-3 times a week, watch what I eat but could do better. I will say I am feeling better, healthy, stronger, sleep better but weight is something else, goes down then up like a roller coaster. Yesterday I decided to start over again. Running into this teamis a good sign. I am looking forward to small goals at a time.

Hi All,

I'm new to this group (joined yesterday) and have been off/on SparkPeople for several years now. I have encountered the often heard about post-menopausal weight gain and am struggling to get rid of it. I know I need to step up on the exercise, but I also need to get a better handle on my eating habits. I do really well during the day, but in the evening I typically blow it- a extra glass of wine or something sweet after dinner. I definitely need accountability and hope these mini-challenges will be the kick in the butt that I need. emoticon

Eliminate excuses and avoid procrastination! Just Do It!

I'm super excited for summer, but just got into a mini-depression due to the fact that has been bothering me since my stepmom pointed it out in third grade- my weight. I told my mom how I felt, and she showed me this. hi my name is Linda I have been here on spark 8 years now every year I make myself new goals last year I maintained my weight this year I intend to lose again , I am disabled, a wheelchair user so I have to watch what I eat anyway I exercise daily on my exercise bike and I do chair exercises from the videos on this site, I visit my doc every 12 weeks my last visit only last week I had lost 14 pounds therefore I need to keep this up I thought this group could help

Hey group, my name is Nicole. I have been on and off of SP for years but I need to really step up and lose this weight. I will be 31 tomorrow and married a yr next week and I am ready to start a family. However my doctor told me it would be very dangerous to have a child now due to my current healthy. I wanted to just cry when she had told me this. We have been trying and I just do not know how possible it is at this moment. I love that there is a mini challenge forum.
