hi my name is Linda I have been here on spark 8 years now every year I make myself new goals last year I maintained my weight this year I intend to lose again , I am disabled, a wheelchair user so I have to watch what I eat anyway I exercise daily on my exercise bike and I do chair exercises from the videos on this site, I visit my doc every 12 weeks my last visit only last week I had lost 14 pounds therefore I need to keep this up I thought this group could help

Hey group, my name is Nicole. I have been on and off of SP for years but I need to really step up and lose this weight. I will be 31 tomorrow and married a yr next week and I am ready to start a family. However my doctor told me it would be very dangerous to have a child now due to my current healthy. I wanted to just cry when she had told me this. We have been trying and I just do not know how possible it is at this moment. I love that there is a mini challenge forum. I feel like this is achievable for me.

Hi there, my name is Milli. I am fighting to get my life back. I just had a baby 3 weeks ago and I also have an 11 year old. My dr recently told me if I do not lose weight, I will be in a wheelchair by the age of 35 due to the excess weight on my back where my arthritis is. I refuse to hear it. That will not be me!!! I was 235 when I got pregnant and I am now at 213. Still have about 80 lbs to go!!

I started over in January and had been doing great. As I pushed my self harder to exercise I ended up pushing too hard and injured my hip. My diet intentions have been progressively slowing down since then. Then I hit vacation time. I need to get back on track and keep looking forward to the future. Hi everyone! I've joined SP this week to start over. I've done other ($50/mo) programs and had inconsistent success. About 4 years ago, I lost 47lbs, got overconfident and gained it all back! What drew me to SP was the layout is very similar to the other program I was using, but FREE! I turned 40 in May and am determined to lose 40lbs by the time I hit 41! I'm calling it 40 at 40! Wish me success! Good luck to everyone!

Hi I'm Judy. I restarted Spark People in Jan 2014 after regaining most of the weight I had lost in 2012. Funny how that weight keeps coming back... Well not this time! I'm trying to take it slower. I've adding one new healthy habit at a time.

Well I seem to have constant ups and downs. Good days and bad days when i am depressed it is worse. I think a lot of it is because i have super low confidence. But i am really determined. I got my black belt a few months ago and am getting ready to be in a new fighting division. I was good in my last division and i am determined to be great in this one!

Hi!!
I'm Corinne and I'm a food-a-holic! Really I am. I eat jelly bellies and salt and vinegar chips chips at work for an afternoon destress snack. I'm a nurse with many achy joints, with a sister, mom and niece all with heart problems. I also have a caring doc who is helping me get on track to lose weight and to keep my diabetes under control by griping at me every visit. My goal is to be down to 199 by sept 5th when I see him again. I am not new to sparkpeople, but lost my way a while back and have finally found my way home again.
Looking forward to mini challenges. Off to pick my 5 to start tomorrow, and to post starting weight.

I am new to group. Also doing biggest loser summer challenege. I would like to be consistant and keep motivated. In the past I start a program but don't stick with it. Hopefully this will be different for me and I am happy to be part of the group! emoticon

My name is Anita, I am new to the group. I am looking for some challenges to shake thing up for me, I have been at a stand still for 5 months not losing at all, I gain 2 then lose that or gain 1 and lose that up and down up and down weekly and it is driving me nuts.. I also see my self not making any physical changes, I wear the same size clothes are not tight nor lose .I track both my food and my fitness, I eat about 1300 calories a day, I cannot work vigorously like cross fit and jogging any more due to my knee injury but I can walk and I can ride my bike and swim which I do and strength work.. any ways I will shut up and listen because this old dog needs to learn a new trick or two..

Hi, this is Dawn.

I have been getting overwhelmed and not being consistent with exercise, eating healthy and tracking both. I need to keep things simple so that I don't get frustrated and give up like I have in the past.

My goals are to:
1) walk at least 10 minutes a day consistently and track that
2) eat healthy and track that

Once I get consistent with these goals I can add on to them.

Hi! I've just joined this group as it seems like a fantastic idea! One week at a time... I like it. I previously lost 20 lbs but gained back 8 and am looking to lose the remaining 15 + 8 now. I fell off track halfway through. Right now, I'm struggling to avoid my gorging episodes that I frequently have with chips, sweets, cakes, chips, nachos, chips... I need to get back my discipline that I had when I first started! I'm also trying to work exercise into the mix and finding I go either all or nothing and neither is good. So, mini-challenges.. help me out here haha.

Hi everyone, I am trying to start over, again. It seems to be a pattern for the last five years. I have lost 12 pounds this year alone to put back on 3 but I am ready to take those off along with another 30. I have decided that life is all about me now that my youngest child is a junior in college and my husband and I are "new" nesters. I decided to join this MC for starting over to help me give up soda and sugar once again, they are my arch enemies. I'm ready to start see you on the flip side:)

Hey everyone, I'm Cassie. I've been on Spark for quite some time now (some years more faithful than others). But using Spark in combination with an introduction to zumba helped me to lose 60 lbs about 2 years ago. I've slowly put back on 50 of those lbs (20 from being lazy and the other 30 since October 2013 when I started dealing with a great tragedy). I'm ready to start putting myself first again, but having a hard time finding that motivation. I'm huge on challenges, they really seem to motivate me...so that's why I joined the group. Here's to finding my motivation again while shedding those 50 (and then some) lbs!

Good Morning,

I have been watching my weight creep up from last November and now I'm closet to 20 lbs heavier than I was last summer. Portions too big, too many excuses and too much wine. I've always exercised a lot and am very active but I just eat too much. I worked so hard over a year ago to lose the weight and am mad at myself for gaining it back. Looking forward to the mini-challenge and learning to take one day at a time.

Good morning everyone. I'm Nancy - I'm a lifetime member at WW, and the lbs are slowly creeping back on. I know I need to start getting back to taking better care of myself and thought this challenge would be a good place to start. I have a busy week with lots of company until Saturday, but will try to do the best I can.

Finally got on the scales this morning. I'm up 10 lbs from a year ago. Going to focus on trying to get 5 off by the fourth of July.

Hi everyone,
I found SparkPeople 8.5 years ago while on mat leave with my first baby. Since then I've had another been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and have basically stopped exercising and tracking what I ear result overweight, overfat and very uncomfortable. I have set a LT goal to weigh 142 by my 42nd BDay in October.

Hi, I'm Holly.
I've used sparkpeople off and on for the last 4-5years, last week I started using it again tracking my food and exercise. I decided I wanted to join a team that would be active in challenges, but not so active you can't possibly respond to those post, and this team looks like a great fit. hi, everyone. I just joined this team. I've been a part of SP since July 2007. I had reached my goal weight and maintained it until last year. It was a year full of many challenges and lots of stress. I ended the year having put in 30 pounds. This year my situation has settled down and I've been able to refocus on good eating habits and exercise again.

I've read some of the previous MCs and look forward to the weekly challenges.

Hello!

I'm back and trying to get serious again with this after a couple years of stressors and being extremely busy, I had trouble trying to track things, eat properly, keep exercising, etc. I had my elderly aunt, whose affairs I had to manage as her health declined and after a few years she eventually passed away. I fell and broke my wrist and had the joy of working one handed for several weeks. I had an old ankle injury that now prevents me from running (but it doesn't stop me from walking!) Work was chaotic and a lot of things were changing. We were doing a lot of travel to help run Magic events - which is long hours of work in convention centers, where it's nearly impossible to manage healthy meals at regular times. At any rate, it was stressful enough that I gradually gained about 30# in five years.

So now that things have quieted down a bit (except for now having a dog with cancer), I'm working on getting back on track, and this team seemed like it could be helpful.

Hello!

I recognize so many of your stories. I was at goal weight 1 year ago. Since then I have gained 15 pounds and lost my muscle tone. How did it happen? By eating whatever I want, not exercising or tracking my food and drinking too much wine.

Time to FOCUS. I need this challenge so I can come and post and hold myself accountable. We can do this Sparkers!

Here I go again!

I've committed to losing weight so many times i cant count. done it all; WW, myfitnesspal.com, ediets - just found about 100 page print out from 2007 of ediets meal plans. You name it!

I've been within 5 pounds of the same weight for 8 years. I slowly gained 40 pounds over 8 years after a change in job and an injury kept me from working out regularly.

After reviewing SP going to re commit. I have to believe this time will be different.

emoticon I went from being toned and happy, comfortable with myself to being very uncomfortable, it happened after I move to Bakersfield. Not over night but a slow process where my emoticon And I would fight about food he had to put Alfredo sauce, well, this is no good without the ton of butter or bacon. On and on it went. I was actually repulsed by the food, but we were on a budget and he made it and on and on I go. So here I am hoping to get unstuck from this mess and just overwhelmed. Here I go it's my choice not his or anyone else. I will get back on track and comfortable again.
