Hi I'm Daphne from Virginia and I need some weekly challenges to get me in the habit of making better choices in food and exercise. I need a goal to shoot for and encouragement.

I like the idea of mini goals for when the tough long term goal becomes daunting. Good luck to everyone!

Hi, I am new. I have been a Spark member for some time and did really well, when I reached my goal, however, maintenance was a problem. I started to gain the weight back so I am back to tracking every day. This team looked interesting, I need short, effective goals.

I am determined to reduce my fat intake and lose this weight. By not reading labels before eating, I way exceeded my fat gram goal today. Instead of continuing to over do it or punish myself by not eating anything, I am choosing to surround myself with like minded people striving for the same things. Thanks for being here team! WOOHOO!!!

Hi everyone. It looks like I have something in common with several other newbies. I am returning to Spark People after an absence, and with a weight gain. I have to get out of this funk, and get this weight off.

Hi I am Mary, 66 years young and this looks like a good group for me. I want to lose between 50-60 pounds and was motivated by my Dr when I saw her Monday. I am beginning to have some health problems because of my extra weight and we discussed a plan for me. I had heard about Sparks so I decided to give it a try. My first goal is to lose 15 pounds by my next appointment on July 15. I have already started walking every day now to just control my eating !!

Hi, I just joined to get some extra motivation. I was overweight before my second pregnancy and gained 5k after delivery. Not bad, but in the next 2-3 years I gained another 15! Mostly because of depression (baby, moved to a new country, no friends or family, etc). Now, finally I feel good and since June 2012 I've lost those 15 kilos but I'm stuck. Don't seem to find motivation to keep going. Mini challenge for me? A week with no snacks at night.

Hey everyone-- I'm also returning to Spark after an absence and a weight gain-- I started several years ago at nearly 150 and, with the help of SP, managed to lose 20 pounds. Then I left for a 3 month stay in Paris and came home three pounds heavier-- not bad, but it spiraled into now nearly six pounds.
I'm here to stop it before it gets out of control-- back on the wagon, back in the groove, and back to Spark! -- BR

Hello everyone! I have been on and off Sparkpeople for the better part of 4 years now. I used the site and support to lose about 25 pounds before my wedding, only to spend the next 3 years on the yoyo/binge cycle ending up a good 50 pounds heavier then when I started. A big part of my problem is not keeping motivation and letting my binges ruin any good work I have done. I am now really starting to work on my binge eating and think that this team can help keep me in the mindset of not giving up.

I have returned to SP after a couple of years absence. Being a, part of the SP family helped me be successful in obtaining my weight loss goals the first time. I kept the, weight off until recently when i became suddenly ill and homebound. Needless to say with such limitations it was not hard to gain weight........fast!! I found the support and motivation of the SP family a blessing to me. Since returning 1 1/2 weeks ago I have lost 2lbs. With Good nothing is impossible!

Hello! My name is Lori Anne, I've been on Sparks since 2008. My highest weight, wow 244lbs, my lowest 168lbs. I've been back and forth so many times and I'm tired just tired. At this time 206.8 is where I am and I want to lose down to 150. I am 42, mother of 2 sons (one just got married) and a wife of a wonderful husband (all but giving support on weight loss). I work full time - office job, teach Sunday School, Preteen Director, and then I have time for myself. As you can tell by the last comment, I've been on a pity party for the last week and want to get out of it. I believe Mini Challenges is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Thanks for the invite.

Hello! Have been on SP for a few years now, but keeping falling off track. At my highest, I lost 35lbs, but have consistently kept off 25. I'd like to get rid of 50 more!! :) I saw this group & thought that the mini challenge was just the thing to keep me on track! I hope, at least!

Hi, I'm Sharon, been on Sparkpeople for a couple years and lost 35 pounds but have 25 more. I keep having a hard time holding on to good habits I start, especially cutting down on sugar. I'm looking forward to being on this team!

Hello everyone I'm 33 years old... married...and have two awesome children (12 & 13). I joined Sparkpeople a year or so ago... but did not use the tools available to me. Three years ago I weighed 150lbs and am now a fluctuating 187 (+/- 5lbs). My lowest weight was 130lbs (prekids) and my top weight was 265lbs (if anyone understands... that this is how I feel and see myself at 187lbs). I have been self defeating in my weight loss goals. It is easy for me to loose sight of my end goal and give up when I have a weight loss set back...or don't see "immediate" results... so I am hoping this Starting Over Challenge is the place for me. I am done sulking in my heavy untoned body.

I have startes to realize reading on real success stories from non-magazine people really does motivate me a lot and poofhere I am on SP. Hope to learn many things from all of you. Cheers!

Hello, I am Kiki, I joined sparkpeople 2 months ago, but I had not itme to take care of myself until now. I am very glad to find this team, I think it could be a great help for me, as I tend to get easily dissappointed when I don't meet my personal standards, or when situations get out of my hand. And as i result I let my dissappointment sabbotage the rest of my day some more...stupid me! Nice to meet everyone, I am looking forward to get to know you! Have a great day!
I joined SP years ago, fell off the wagon several times. As I was thinking of starting up again, I got a phone call from my doctor. You're Diabetic, which pharmacy do you want us to send your prescription to.
So, all my "want to someday" plans are now a "need to now" plans. I've had to change the order of some of my goals but I'm hoping that having a week check-in will help keep me on track

Hi, I'm Karen and I've been with SP since August 2011. Before SP and with SP, I've lost 67# and have been struggling since the holidays and have gained about 10# back and I'm scared! I lost the weight because of serious health problems and my dear sister had passed away some time earlier because of some of the same problems. I'm desperate to get in touch with the desperate feelings I had when I started to lose the weight. Hopefully a smart, quick challenge can get me going again in the right direction!!!

Hi. I'm Sharon. I'm not new to Sparks but new to this group. Last summer I managed to drop 22 lbs, but I lost focus and stopped losing. To my great relief I managed to make it thru the holidays without any gain. I'm ready to take charge of my weight loss again and I'm hoping the accountability will help keep me on the path to my healthy weight.

Hi there, I'm Kim. I have been on spark off and on for a couple of years now, and while I have had some success (lost 20 pounds last summer) my motivation has been floundering and I am not as focused as I would like to be. I am hoping that joining this team will help me get refocused on a healthier me.

Hey My name is Shay.
I am new to the team but not spark people. I've realized that I could use some challenges in my weight loss journey and hopefully my way to a healthier life style. My goal is to get to 180 lbs so my husband and I can start trying to make a family. So far my favorite ways to work out is running and your fitness evolved on the Kinect. My goal with my running is to successfully run a 5k in 30 mins. And to be able to compete in obstacle 5ks.
But yea, that's me.

Hi! My name is Ashley! I'm a 22 year old pharmacy student. I've gained a good bit of weight since starting pharmacy school, and I'm determined to lose it. However, with studying and working all the time I get off track a lot. I thought that mini challenges would be the best for me since I can't plan things long-term very well because I don't know what my schedule is like 2 weeks from now much less 2 months from now! Looking forward to participating!

I am new to the Team, but not SparkPeople. I am also trying again (again) and this time I am trying new things! I noticed that a lot of the SparkTeams that I am part of are not very active, despite the number of members. This one seems to have pretty regular weekly updates and new ideas to try, which is good for me as part of the "new things" that I'm trying this time around!

Hello all, before I fell off the Spark face of the earth, I belonged to this team and I gotta say, I missed belonging to something as fun, prepared in short portions to keep me on target. Like many others around Spark, I had great success and then dwindled away and ended up being successful on my own by putting on "fluff" and attracting a lovely high number at my last cholesterol reading. So I have been tracking my food like a good girl, making healthy food choices and feel ready for weekly direction and guidance to take it to the next step.
Oh, and I have college age twin girls, who are out there somewhere, two doggies and a cockatiel and a wonderful hubby :)

Hi, I've come back to Sparkpeople to lose weight because I love all the tools, education and support that you get from the members. My main challenge is sweets. I work full time,my husband has early Alzheimer's and I have my grandchildren on week ends. So, sweets are a stress relief for me. I'm looking forward to focusing on the mini challenges and getting to know everyone.

Hello, My name is Kristine and I joined SparkPeople this month to help me make a lifestyle change and make sure it doesn't become just another failed new years resolution. I am joining group to ensure that I do not get discouraged. I believe that having a weekly mini- challenge gives the opportunity for frequent mini successes that will keep me motivated and accountable. I look forward to chatting with you all. Kristine

Hi all, I too am returning to sparkpeople. Hoping the mini challenges get me going, I think that might get me out of my comfort zone. Gotta try new things right? I have a wonderful supportive hubby who (currently) weighs less than I do. That is unacceptable! To me, he doesn't care, well he cares, just not about that. As long as I'm happy he's happy. Can't wait to get started!

My name is Emmeline I am joining trying to get back on track have been with SP for one month now and nine days ago my husband was laid off during the holiday's totally crashed my plans and dieting since he is constantly promoting bad habits. Was so pleased when he returned to work he was happy as well that was some real stress worrying over his job, and making it through the holidays. I think this mini challenge team will help me get regrouped and focused once more to move on.

i too have let myself go. but if we keep it simple stupid as a friend once told me then i think we can meet our goals as we want to reach them. dont make long term goals. keep it simple. i know for me, sadly i had to hit rock bottom before i came to realize just how bad i had put on the weight and let myself down. someone asked me how far along i was. This was the last straw. spark has so much to offer me i just have to ask. the people who are on here have been so nice and or supportive. i almost lost my boyfriend last night because of how bad i had let myself go. but by the grace of God i was given a second chance and now i have to fight to keep from drowning again .... anyway, keep it simple, make small goals, and you will succeed ... im here if someone needs me and i hope i can count on you guys for the same ...

Happy New Year! Decided to join this team to get myself going again. I joined SP in 2008, lost some of my weight, gained most of it back, lost some again last year and gained some of it back over the holidays. I'm tired of the yoyoing. I think the Mini-Challenges will help me get back on track. Looking forward to meeting new people too. Marion

Hi! I am new to this team. I have been away from Spark for a few years. So in a way even though my page is old I feel like a newbie to the program. I lost weight when I joined spark years ago so I know it works. Unfortunately, when I left I gained all the weight back so here I am. I have a great boyfriend that lives in Dublin, Ireland. Long Distance relationships are hard but when it's International it's even harder. We have known each other for a few years and have been in a relationship for over a year. Our 2nd year anniversary is in September. My boyfriend will be visiting me in the summer so I would love to lose a lot of weight for that! My ultimate goal would be around 50 pounds but I wouldn't mind losing more than that! A lot of my friends on my sparkpage are no longer active since they were on years ago also...so I would love to make new friends that stay ACTIVE for support and motivation.

Hi, My name is Robin. I was doing very well on SP while I was in school. Now the semester has ended, I just moved into a new apartment, and have been neglecting SP since. I think I've gained a couple of pounds back too; I stopped weighing myself. I want to get back into the SP groove before I sabotage myself any further. Hoping mini-challenges will help get me motivated again.
Thanks! Robin

Hi, my name is Anna. I've had numerous illnesses and injuries, and I have a habit of starting back at exercise as if I am already in shape....then crash for days....then repeat. I have a LOT of weight to lose---gained it by having my thyroid ablated (radiated / killed / destroyed) and having no metabolism *while* being bedridden.... Kinda like having "Weight Gain Surgery"...
I like instant results. I need help to go at things at a steady pace~
Thanks all~!!

Hello! I just joined this team today because I was looking for some new motivation. My SparkCoach feedback today included a link to SP's motivational resources page and that page led me here to this team.
If I've learned anything in the 4+ years I've been a SP member it's that it is important to have goals and to continuously renew our motivation. Some days/weeks/months, that has been easy for me; but, more recently, staying motivated has been a bit of a struggle. So here I am, happy to join in on the weekly challenges with this team and hoping they provide me with some of that additional motivation I seek.
Looking forward to getting to know members of this team better.

Hi! My name is Tanya. I am a stay at home mom of 3. I have made my weight loss goal but I am discovering that losing the weight was only half the battle. Maintaining the weight is the other half. I have been struggling witht the holidays here. I have alot of baking to do so I need some extra challenges and motivation to stay away from the temptation.

Hi! My name's Holly and I'm 26 (I'll be 27 in March). I have a lot of weight to lose and I seem to be stuck in a rut. Instead of losing weight, I'm gaining it back! I need to get out of this hole and get back on track. I'm hoping that this team will help me with that!

Hello all. My name is Sandra. I just found this team and thought it was the perfect place for me to "start over." In 2010 I joined SP with 45lbs to lose, and then I quit smoking!! So, I’m starting again from a much higher altitude! This team seems perfect to keep myself in check and keep moving forward. I’m doing pretty well so far, I’m down 17 with 66 more to go! I’m really looking forward to the weekly challenges.

Hello everyone! My name is Stephanie, I'm 42-years-old, I've been married eighteen years, and we have two boys (ages 15 and 11). I just recently returned to Sparkpeople after an extended hiatus, and I'm still at my highest weight ever (325 pounds). I have a very long road ahead of me, but I'm putting my big girl panties on and dealing with it once and for all. I would love to add some new friends so we can encourage each other. Good luck to you all!

Hi everyone,
My name is Maria and although I've been a sparkpeople member for many years, I really haven't utilized it much. My latest weight loss mission started in Jan of this year, and so far I lost 26 lbs. I did this by keeping track of my calorie intake and exercise. Then summer came around and my weight loss mission got put on hold. Well, now I'm back and would like to reach my new year's resolution goal before the upcoming New Year. This is going to be the first time that I actually stuck with my NY resolution for the year and might actually meet the goal. I'm hoping to drop the last 17 lbs by end of year. I've looked through a couple of challenges on here and this one really caught my eye because of the reasonable weekly goals. So excited to make some buddies along this journey to success!!!
I may not be there yet, but I'm so much closer than I was yesterday!

I look forward to joining the challenges of this team.

Hi! My name is Wendy and I've been a Spark member, on and off, for about 3 years. I just started Sparking again about 2 months ago when I finally decided to get serious about my weight loss. I lost about 30 lbs after my divorce (and not a very healthy way of losing either) and decided that I want to keep it off and want to lose even more than that. I think the idea of having mini-goals is a great idea and I'm excited to be a part of this team.

Hi my name is Terri. I've been onspark people for about 4months and in that time I've lost31 lbs which isgreat but I'm starting to find myself falling back into old habits and things are starting to boring so I. really like the wily challenges here I've tried some of the longer ones and I just can't stick to them so I think short ones will work a lot better

Hello, I’m Jessica and this is my 5th alter ego with Sparkpeople. I felt it was necessary because after losing 40 lbs earlier this year (Jan-Apr) with Spark, I fell off the wagon. I went from 216 to 224.8 where I started back up this week. Now my ultimate goal is to hit 160, but I want to eat better, lose the stress, and reduce the to-do’s on my to-do list of life. Which as a mother, volunteer, employee, business owner, wife, sister, etc…… (we all wear many hats), the list is never ending. I am looking for supportive friends, who won’t hesitate to kick my butt!
Find me on facebook too… facebook.com/rainnnaturelover
I look forward to learning from this team, and being done with losing weight. Some day I’d like to simply focus on maintaining it.

Hi I'm new here and having a difficult time finding motivation living in a tiny town with no gym and no place to walk or jog outside, plus with fibromyalgia (chronic fatigue and muscle pain)! I am hoping the mini-challenges can help me out if I can figure out how to know what they are each week :)
