Hi everyone! I'm Zen. I am 33 and live in Phoenix, AZ. I started at 405 pounds and I am now down to 384 in the last month. I have done it by changing my eating habits and walking on the treadmill. I started off walking 10 minutes. I am now up to 26 minutes. In 26 mnutes i can do about a mile, somedays a lil over a mile. My goal is to be able to walk 3 miles in an hour. I would love to join some walking 5ks so that is what I am working to. I look forward to getting to know everyone :)

Hiya, I'm Betsy. 35, mother of a daughter. I used to love to wonder aimlessly, just taking my time, and exploring the city/town. Then life got the best of me. I have tried and tried over the last few years to get back into walking. I finally went "just do it, even if your walking/marching/kinda jogging in place, do it" and well some days I need a break, but I've started. And so I found my way here.

I've never had broken ankle but, my husband broken his in 2011. It still bothers him. Please take it slowly with your walks at first. I love Leslie to death. She is a great motivator and makes you want to go, go, go! Listen to that ankle when it speaks to you.

Hey everyone! My name is Becky Sue and I am from a little town in Michigan. It's a bit snowy, cold and often icy half a good part of the year here, so Leslie's videos have been a go to favorite of mine for years! I found a lot of success with her videos and a good eating plan!
I fell and broke my ankle, trimalleolar fracture, in August of 2016 and spent 10 weeks not walking at all!!! It's been a very long five months, but just yesterday I was cleared for medical release from my surgeon and am back to work full time Monday! That being said... my ankle isn't really totally healed. The bones are just beautiful as the bakers dozen of screws helped them heal nicely, but there is a LOT of muscle weakness yet that nothing but time and hard work is going to fix. There are certain directions this ankle just isn't going to move in... that's why I think some Walk At Home may be a good place to get started.
Of course, I have a nice forty minute at home program my physical therapist released me with... but, I think some extra work with the walking will help.

Hello everyone,
I have been walking with Leslie for something like 15 years (honestly I'm not sure how long ago it was my adult children were in elementary school emoticon ). She is my favorite "go to" work out on yucky weather days.
Currently I'm working on bringing focus back to me after going through a life remodeling.

Hey everyone, I'm new to this group but not new to Leslie. I've been doing her walks off and on for years. I have a variety of her tapes. For about a month I've been doing her walks consistently. I have a big weight loss goal of about 50lbs as of now. I have already lost 20 so it was 70. Besides Leslie's walks I walk outside up and down my street and also do Leslie's healthy abs and back 10 min routine on her walk off the pounds 2015 dvd. I eat pretty much what I want to but watch my portions and count calories. I'm also doing a 30 day wall push up challenge I'm on day 8 of this challenge. I also have a fitbit if you want to be friends there to keep motivated send me a sparkmail and I will try to add you as soon as possible. I also am doing mini goals of 5lb weight loss goals instead of focusing on the whole 50lbs left.

Hi everyone! Sooooooo, I've actually been in the group for a while now. I just got on Sparkpeople for the first time....in well....a long time. I'm going against everything and decided that I wasn't going to wait till New Year Day to start my weight loss. I just turned 40 in November. I'm unhappy with my weight and decided that only one that is stopping me...is me.

Welcome, emoticon , emoticon together!! emoticon They have some walk away the pounds videos on youtube. You can try them out to see how you like them. Walmart usually have some and they are cheaper than ordering them online, you can even order them online at walmart and pick up at the store. Jump right in to any of the challenges, they will also keep you motivated.

Hello everyone! I am Reggie from Missouri. I have been training to walk a 5k breast cancer awareness walk on Saturday. I did the walk 5k your way challenge which kept me motivated. I finished the challenge and new I am finding it difficult to keep myself motivated to walk. My son will walk with me but he gripes the whole way. (Even though he is losing inches!) I've not heard of these Leslie videos before. I am hoping I can get back my walking motivation. I started at 291 lbs and now I am at 272. I still have a long way to go.

I am newly retired and I have been exercising with Leslie since I retired in May. I have just recently started dieting since mid August and have lost ten pounds. I really enjoy the work outs. I want to get involved in a 5K or 10K in October. Trying out low-carb recipes, because my doctor is concerned with my A1C. Trying to bring it down before my next checkup.
I am married (43 yrs), Christian, involved in my church, and staying busy. Exercising is my least sedentary habit, and I love to cook and bake, and I love anything sweet. Trying to change my eating habits.

Hi, I came back to Spark about a month or so ago. I have 20 lbs. to lose and never seem to be able to get to my goal. So, I'm setting a goal of getting this weight off off by December. emoticon

I started using Walk Away the Pounds DVD's in the 90's when I lived up north. A group of us at work used to get together every day at lunch time and do the one or two mile walks. Life made some changes and I moved to AZ in 2006 and I let dust gather on my WATP video. This summer has been really hot here with temps going up to almost 120 degrees last month! We are still at around 108-114 degrees every day and so walking outside isn't really feasible. I did get the dogs out this morning but it was already 110 degrees and after 1/4 mile we were all ready to get back in the AC. I do water jog because I'm fortunate enough to have access to a fantastic rec center with full gym and walking pool. So, I really don't have a lot of excuses for my totally lazy behavior emoticon I'm hoping that by getting back into my WATP video I'll get back into the swing of exercising regularly again. I'm going to start out with the 1 mile walk and hope to work myself up to the 3 mile walk by the end of August. I hope being part of this team and reading what everyone is doing will keep me motivated. emoticon

Hello all! I am a married 36 year old mom of three teenagers. I work full time at a junior high/high school for youth with autism and serve as a licensed minister at our church. I have walked with Leslie off and on for many years via VHS, DVD, and now my Apple TV. :-) Over the past 3 years, I have let life circumstances and my busy schedule become obstacles to doing the things I need to do to be healthy. That said, I am committing to eat healthier and exercise. My goal is to lose 40 pounds by December 1st of this year. Glad I found this team! :-)

Hi I am Sandy and I wanted to stop by and say hi. I love walk away the pounds home videos. I have her five miles walk and four miles walk videos. I am a stay at home Mom of 6 kids and I been married for over 16 yrs. I been a member of spark since 2009 and I have lost weight and gained it back. So I been there. I am starting over as I know I can lose the weight again.
