welcome! already some excellent advice, but i would also suggest taking advantage of the fast break program. it is designed to break down your big goals into small manageable goals. this way you can experience some success, which build on itself, and keeps the motivation high. post to your team boards, write a blog, and whatever else you can do to help keep yourself on track and motivated.

Hi and welcome here. Which part of SA do you come from? Sheila has given you really good advice. Take it slowly and develop a pattern that works for yourself. Try to make exercise a part of your life too, whether its small walks or the exercise videos that are on sparks.

I will NOT run emotionally from compliments and hide in fat layers for protection.

Hi there and welcome
You've come to the right place - SparkPeople has many different teams and challenges that may be helpful to you - depending on your interests.

Have a good look around the site and see how the tools provided (nutrition tracker and the exercises and fitness tracking) can help you

Let me know what sort of help you need specifically - I've always found it helpful to break down the huge goals into small manageable ones that can be celebrated more frequently - e.g. Lose 5% of my weight and then have a head massage with next hair cut :)

It is difficult to offer specific help without knowing what you are already doing for yourself on the food and exercise fronts - but just get in touch
