Hi Lyle
You have started
You made the decision that you want to change your Lifestyle - this is not a diet - it is a whole life thing - I have found that while taking control of my eating I am also taking control of my messy habits around the house - procrastinating, shrugging off a bit of dust etc.
In taking care of ourselves we are able to project a happier self for others. One small step at a time - get up 10 minutes earlier and walk down the road, think of 3 things you are happy about today and then get ready for work. Try to have something for breakfast to kick-start the mechanics of the body - even if it's an apple and coffee (only about 80 calories in an apple) and try to have a 10 minute walk at lunchtime then again when you get home from work - or going to lectures.
Walk to the shop - park further away from entrances - all these things add up. Take the stairs not the escalator - add something new each week.
This is not a sprint - it took me a couple of years to get most of it together - and you are 3 years younger than my youngest!
We are a friendly bunch - not many of us are really active on the site but we will help as much as you allow us !! Get that?
