Welcome to SP Lyle, which part of SA are you from?
I'm sitting in little old George between CT and PE.

I will NOT run emotionally from compliments and hide in fat layers for protection.

Hi,Lyle! Wish I found SP when I was 27!That would have made things a lot easier.

As Sheila says, this is a whole lifestyle thing. Not a quick fix.
If you change one thing at a time and get it right, eventually it will accumulate to a whole lot of things and you will see the weight come off!
Get yourself connected to the SP community. Make your Sparkpage, join groups and a challenge or two. Blog if you like. Soon their will be a lot of friends standing behind you cheering you on.

Have fun!

Hi Lyle
You have started
You made the decision that you want to change your Lifestyle - this is not a diet - it is a whole life thing - I have found that while taking control of my eating I am also taking control of my messy habits around the house - procrastinating, shrugging off a bit of dust etc.
In taking care of ourselves we are able to project a happier self for others. One small step at a time - get up 10 minutes earlier and walk down the road, think of 3 things you are happy about today and then get ready for work. Try to have something for breakfast to kick-start the mechanics of the body - even if it's an apple and coffee (only about 80 calories in an apple) and try to have a 10 minute walk at lunchtime then again when you get home from work - or going to lectures.
Walk to the shop - park further away from entrances - all these things add up. Take the stairs not the escalator - add something new each week.

This is not a sprint - it took me a couple of years to get most of it together - and you are 3 years younger than my youngest!

We are a friendly bunch - not many of us are really active on the site but we will help as much as you allow us !! Get that?

Well, here it goes. My name is Lyle, and I'm 27 years old. I'm fed up with being fat, and want to make some changes so that I won't be anymore. I've been having problems getting started, and I guess I just need some support and encouragement. I always seem to lose my confidence and motivation very quickly. These days, I don't get time for much since I work a full-time job, and then I have classes in the evenings. I'm always feeling too tired to wake up early, to get in a quick jog or walk or ANYTHING. I rarely eat breakfast, mostly because I never feel like it. I eat a lot of junk because it's convenient since I'm hardly ever at home to rustle up something more appropriate to eat. And these are all things I know I MUST change. My quality of life right now is not so great.

So yeah, hopefully this time I can keep on it. I'd like help in whatever way possible, and hope that I too will be able to help other people reach their weight loss goals.

So, where do I start?
