Hi Elaine. Where do you come from? I'm down in little old George near CT. You will love sparks and just remember this.....I came here with 45kgs to lose and have lost 24kgs. So plod on, track your food, and share in the blogging cos it all really does help. You may fall down, but you will dust yourself off and start again cos each restart will bring you closer to your goal. If you only lose 1kg a month, you will take a year and already have lost 12kgs. So if you can manage a little more than 1kg a month you will complete your goal in one year only. Great thought isn't it?

Hello Elaine! I live in the Lowveld, welcome to the team. You will love it here, and if you track your nutrition and excercise and aim for a negative number you will lose weight. Just have to be consistent. You will love it here. Sheila is right, just break it into smaller bits. Every 500g will add to you feeling wonderful, and when you have lost 10% of your bodyweight you will really feel a difference.

Who did you support Elaine? My DH is a Bull, Sheila is a Stormer and I support individuals that I like. Have favourites in every team. Have to add if the Bulls win it makes for a happier home down here.
First of all, if you set yourself a realistic goal of losing Xkgs per month, you will be able to work out a goal date. I've found that the less I have to lose, the longer it actually takes!
I set myself a goal of 9months to lose 18 kgs - and made it! - then put some back on once the event had happened and I lost the plot - relaxed and thought I could coast. Then I found Spark when I had put 5kgs back on and have been encouraged, motivated, butt-kicked ever since. One of my Spark Friends has asked for a daily "kick" which several of us provide in various ways.
