I hope that you can make it to Ethiopia. We plan on the N. Island so I can show my hubby around, and hopefully down to the S. Island. I never made it down there before and would love to see how different it is. I've heard Dunedin is a lovely place. We should see if we can make it over. :)

Thats what happens when we assume....sorry about that....you are just a spring chicken...

Wow...how cool that you are coming to NZ in december....
What part do you plan on coming to?????
I am in Dunedin....would love to coffee with you if you get here....

I will get back to Ethiopia but because my husband hated it so much he will only let me go if my daughter is there and seeing she has finally got her husband here they will be here for at least a couple of years....all good...if I don't get to meet the lady before she dies I am sure I will get to the place she built before I do....lol....
Won't have regrets either way.....just need for hubby to be half happy at my going on my own....

I'd love to go to the African continent but I'm really too scared to really. I'd love to visit Morocco while I'm in Europe because it's "so close."

I'm sure in 10 years you'll be very much alive and very much kicking especially if you stay with SP and stay fit & healthy! ;) Congrats on the 60! I'm actually 30 less than that rather than 3, but it sneaks up on ya! I can retire from this job in 10 years but I can't collect until I think 67. I guess that gives me enough time to start an entirely new career for another 20 years, haha.

I was born and raised (1/2 childhood) in NZ but had to move to the US with my parents where I spent about 20 years and now I'm in Europe. I love it, I love the US, but I very much miss NZ. I hope to visit this December! (Only the 2nd time since I moved from NZ!) -- Need to get the beach body ready, haha.

Try to get to Ethiopia the best you can. No regrets!

your world sounds really fascinating...yay....
Hopefully i will still be alive and kicking in 10years....lol....Have just turned 60 in December so that would make you 3 years younger than me....yay.....

Ethiopia...the trip was for my daughters wedding...she married a Black smily face...he is gorgeous however they have had a terrible journey over the last 18months and are finally together here in NZ as of December just passed...thinsk they are still getting used to being together...
Never felt unsafe when i was there...my daughter knew the lie of the land so I had no concernes...loved the place although my hubby hated it...I would love to go back as I have someone over there I want to meet before she dies however with my daughter being here now that potential is not likely to happen until she is back there....

Hi Lyn, Thanks for the welcome. :)
When I returned from A-stan I went back to the USA as my home where it technically still is but my heart is in NZ. I plan on moving back to NZ when I'm finished with my current career hopefully in the next 10 years! (Just enough to draw a pension when I reach.. 67?)

I agree with you that all of the processed food is horrible for us. We've been eating less processed food but it's hard to keep the discipline for vegetarianism, let-alone veganism. I was successfully vegetarian for 2 months last year after watching the documentary "Earthlings" (free, online). Then BBQ season came around and I folded.

Ethiopia - what a trip huh! I'm glad you made it back safely too! :)

Hey Kirsty....Welcome to the team...great to have you with us....
Coming home I assume you mewn NZ???
I had a trip to Ethiopia 18 months ago and when I can back to NZ the weight started going on again and I felt terrible so ended up changing to Vegan.....I believe it is all the processing that we have in our food here....
My daughter lost a lot of weight in Ethiopia however is fast putting it back on since coming back to NZ so that convinces me even more.......

Even with all the nice breads and cheeses and stuff over there I am sure you can still achieve your goals

I am a Kiwi expat living and working in Belgium for the US Gov't with my US hubby. :)
I was in wonderful shape in Afghanistan and when I came home about 6 years ago I think I got lazy (maybe a bit depressed?) and gained about 50 pounds (around 22 kg) over the course of the first 2 years back into normal life, and reinforced horrible eating habits which I'm now working hard to undo.
We've been in Belgium for a little over a year so far, and luckily haven't fallen into even worse eating habits being surrounded by awesome bread, cheese, wine, beer, frites (french fries - usually with mayonnaise), waffles and of course chocolate. I'm a little hungry as I type so I'll keep this short so I can go and drink some water. ;)
Of all the SparkTeams I've searched for with the various places I've lived through the years, I feel more at home here with Team Kiwi although I'm half a world away.
Thanks for your acceptance!
