I was diagnosed long time ago and did the classes. After a couple of months the Dr changed his mind I was delighted. Then later after a surgery I was told again I was Diabetic I insisted I be sent to an endocrinologist. I was sent as a single consultation. It was worth it because he told my Dr he was right this time.
I am so Happy I found Spark and this community and much of what I know now was taught to me by my Spark friends. Support and knowledge is what you will get from here. Always ask questions of you Dr and Spark friends no-one can help unless you ASK Please.

Hi IMPROVETODAY, Welcome!
Took my Dr. a few years before he refered me to an endocrinologist. I feel as though he wasted my time! And in those first few years I did NOT have good control over my BG numbers. So, hope you have the same thing..finally getting a lot more controll over your Blood Glucose numbers.

Welcome to SPARKPEOPLE and to this Great Team! It sounds like you are on the right track now that you are going to an endocrinologist. I understand because I am changing doctors so I can be referred to an endocrinologist. I want to get this diabetes under control also.
Hi, Improve - You've come to a right place with a right attitude.

Welcome! I think we've all had health care experiences we look back on an think the "woulda", "coulda" and "shoulda" thoughts about. BUT most importantly, right now, you're sounding like you're in more capable health care hands to meet your needs. THAT'S good.
Glad you're here.
Just joined the group, although I've been a Type 2 for 15 years now. I also just started seeing an endocrinologist, and posted another topic on that journey. I have been on the diabetic roller coaster for a long time now, and hoping that I can finally get a handle on this disease and start feeling better in many ways. I'm looking forward to meeting others and sharing our experiences. My PCP had good intentions, but it seems he only managed to make things worse for me by not referring me to an endocrinologist sooner. Now I'm just looking here for support and advice and maybe a friend or two!
