Hi, Hilda - Welcome to Spark and this Team. I have learned so much helpful information here and gotten the support and inspiration I need to journey towards a healthier life. With diabetes, I realize that for me, it is truly life and death and/or horrendous complications. Spark has been a wonderful gift I have given myself.
It is also fun here - we all need a laugh once in a while to lift our mood.
Thank you to your husband, you and your whole family for service to our country. May you have a long, healthy retirement in Alabama.

Hi Hilda, And to SPARK , And you are right, it is a great site, with lots of caring, knowledgble people..who are right where you are, or have been there.

Try to use the Nutrition Tracker..for me, it is one of the most helpful things on SPARK. It took me a few days to figure out how to navigate it, but it really helps me see why my body is responding..it keeps me accountable.

Hello All...I have made the choice finally to join Spark Team and become part of a great bunch of folks that are going throught the same things that I am. I am 65 years young, have four grown kids and eight grandchildren. I am a diabetic on insulin and diabetic diet. I have
been a diabetic for about 15 years now..it runs in my family ... I have felt so isolated for a good while now...this my decision to become part of Spark People...when you are around other folks who are in the same "boat" or condition...their understanding seems to really help!
I have to learn my way around "Spark People" and how to navigate...but I will learn. I live in Alabama...my husband is retired Army (served 20 years) ; we lived overseas about 9 years total (Germany) and when he retired, we moved back to Alabama. I hope I can learn all I need to with Spark People and the good folks that are a part of it! Wish me luck!! Hilda B.
