Mark, This is a great team. I know you can do this. It is not easy, still a struggle, but you are young, smart and strong. You know how you have to eat, just need the strength not to slip back, into old comfortable, BAD eating patterns!
I wish you Luck and Strength!

Hey Mark , At first you might Think it isn't but hang in there it does. I haven't been on it long a couple of months I have lost a few pounds, eating allot better, drinking water,, Blood sugars are great and getting stable, and I feel great.Don't think of it as that dirty four letter word diet, but as a healthier life style and you will enjoy it.

You made a good choice going with Spark People. There is unlimited information about your body, health and food. After absorbing all this information you will automatically make the right decisions about taking care of yourself. I have a friend that is thinking about weight loss surgery and she knows that after that she will have to change her lifestyle to keep the weight off. Good luck to you on your new journey. Welcome.
Mark, Welcome to the team we have lots of successful dieters here and many that are doing maintenance to stay the way they are. I admire you for stepping out to get the surgery, I felt too afraid of it myself. But than goodness I have found the help and support I need hear at Spark and I am sure you will also. Make yourself a spark page when you get a chance, it is a good tool to get to know you and your journey that has brought you to this place and then you will get continual support. Once again Welcome

Just signed up and I'm hoping this is going to be a real help. I was pushing 440 lbs. and decided to have Gastric Bypass (which I am glad I did. I recommend it to anyone that has a chance to do it) but I knew there would come a time that it would be right back to watching what I ate to continue the weight loss. I dropped about 100 lbs. and bounced back up a bit and now I'm holding around 350. I REALLY need to get it going again and would appreciate any help from anyone. I really admire those who have lost without the surgery option but it was just the route I felt was right for me. Hope to hear from some of you.
