Hi Mary, welcome to the Spark Challenge Team!! Boy, you'll be at your goal in no time flat, with all of us cheering you on. You asked about the fat content in an almond, while I'm no expert, I do remember reading that the fat content in almonds is a healthy fat which is good for the body when eaten in the proper amount 1 ounce serving per day. Don't know if this was of any help to you, but I hope it helps!!

When I toast almonds I never see a bunch of fat left behind in the pan/cookie sheet. So if they lose fat I'd think the amount wouldn't be significant.
I know when I grill a steak there is a lot of fat left behind. Or if I melt cheese on a cookie sheet there's lots of fat/grease on the sheet. Not so w/ almonds.

Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

Hi Mary! Welcome to our team. I am thankful you stumbled into SparkPeople! This place is amazing!

Hmm interesting question regarding the fat content of toasted almonds. Let us know if you find out. If all else fails, send an email to support@sparkpeople.com to see if they might be able to help out. Unfortunately, I think you would need to send the email from your regular email. I has never had success sending support an email from sparkmail.

My name's Mary. Joined SP 6 days ago. Stumbled onto this site by accident while trying to figure out how many calories are in slivered toasted almonds. I'm trying to lose 15-20 lbs. I do Zumba, Turbo , strength training & others.

Still can't find out if slivered almonds lose some of their fat content if they're toasted :)
