I am amused by the teeth brushing--maybe just heading out for a walk will do it for me. I sure hope so--got to get it under control to be successful this next three months.

Figuring out the puzzle pieces that work for your journey can be frustrating... It can also be extremely motivating if you keep an open mind. Having other sparklers to bounce ideas off of are what makes the team so much fun and successful! :)

I know you will figure it out... You are already putting pieces together... Finding out that protein may be the missing link for you would be an awesome link!

One of the things I do if I feel like it is a boredom eating, or just because someone else in the house is doing it... Is to brush my teeth. I won't mess up a sparkly mouth with ick. Lol

Yes, J. good ideas for snacks--I thank you for taking the time to share. I seem to want to stuff myself at night and i wander if it is because I am not eating enough protein. I am going to count grams today to see. I know on days when I have eggs, and fish I seldom go wacko at night. But frankly I do not believe it has to do with hunger but more anxiety, boredom, a feeling I should have some reward for the close of a difficult day. Got to rethink --take a different stance at night--maybe even work out?

Again thanks

QueenMabe - have you tried to budget calories in your day to allow for evening snacking? I am an evening snacker myself. What has worked for me is to budget 100-300 calories for snacking at night. If I have used up to many calories during the day, it limits what my snack choices are in the evening.

Some of my favorite evening snacks:
1/2 serving wheat thins or Kellogg's all bran crackers and a laughing cow wedge = 100 cals
Whole grapefruit without sugar = about 65 calories

There are several dressings and dips available now that are very good, low calorie and do not have artificial stuff in them. Tzatiki sauce, Bolthouse farms yogurt dressings, marzetti Greek yogurt cucumber dill these have between 25-60 calories a serving... Add almost limitless veggies

I plan to change--I plan every other day--even write it down--do most everything I am suppose to --but at night it all falls apart. Got to figure out what to do in the evening to stop the eating.

Hi fellow 'Sparkies'
tried this site a few years ago for a few months and drifted off. Recently having had an abnormal result on my kidney function Sparkworld was the one place I knew where I can hope to control my protein intake, also check potassium, sodium and other elements I must avoid or curtail. I remembered before that when I used Sparkpeople my diet was erring on the protein side and the thing is even bread contains it, especially oat bread, trying to be healthy needs rethinking for me so here goes
