I'm so folks you decided to join this awesome team. We are an encouraging, caring bunch of gals. I hope you find yourself at home here. emoticon

Today is the first step to becoming a healthier you emoticon Remember slow and steady wins the race emoticon emoticon Start out with a small winnable success. The monthly exercise challenge is a great place to start because you set your own goal and the challenge is to reach your goal. Any of the challenges can be joined at any time. My first challenge to you is to set up your nutrition page and track what you put into your mouth for five days. We often discover that we ingest a lot more calories than we thought. I believe your nutrition page is the single most important thing you have in your arsenal for a healthy life. If you go to high or too low you will not get the most optimal results. Let me know on the ROLL CALL thread if you accept my challenge and let us know each day if you managed to stay within your calorie range. This will get you started. If you don't stay in range, that's ok. The challenge is to track your food. Once you get used to tracking then we can work on staying within your nutritional ranges. If you have any questions please get a hold of one of us on the ROLL CALL thread. emoticon emoticon emoticon I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I am new back to SparkPeople. Trying to navigate the system again. It has changed a bit since I was really on here last. It says I joined in 2014, however, I joined and never really did anything with it, so today is officially really my first day back. I was a member 7 years ago and lost quite a bit of weight after the birth of my daughter. 1.5 years later and back to work I went, everything has gone downhill since then. So, here I am back to the drawing board. I am excited to have the various weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly challenges!! I look forward to getting to know you guys better throughout our journey together.

When you feel like quitting ask yourself why you started!

Wow you are very athletic. I'm so glad you joined our team. I think the fitness challenge can really help you stay focused in between your 5% challenges. You might also want to post to the ROLL CALL thread. There's several of us that help keep each other accountable. I don't know how I would have lost my weight without their hep. I hope to see you there. I usually give everybody a personal challenge but you seem to have everything well in hand. You just seem to need some accountability in between your 5% challenge. We would love to help you.

Hi!

I am a 65 year old Red Cross swimming instructor and lifeguard. I live in Miami, Florida with my adult son and two blocks away from my daughter and 13 year old grandson. I joined SparkPeople 3 yrs ago, but only became active 2 yrs ago. It grew on me :). I've tried different meal plans, but the Eat to Live plan is the only one that I've been able to loose any weight with. It has lots of veggies and fruits and low on the carbs. I like it that way. My exercise routine consists of swimming 6 days a week for one hour daily. I swim a mile or 1500 meters. I have just started training for the Senior Olympics. My dream is to compete in the Nationals and beyond in my age group. Yesterday was my first training with my coach. With his help I'll get there.
I joined the 5% Spring 5% weight loss challenge and did really well. Unfortunately what I lost in that forum I gained back while waiting for my Summer 5% weight loss challenge. I figure if I do some challenges in this forum I may be able to maintain my weight inbetween challenges in the other forum. Wish me good luck! :)

Start out with a small winnable success. The monthly exercise challenge is a great place to start because you set your own goal and the challenge is to reach your goal. Any of the challenges can be joined at any time. Its important that you get the support needed to keep you going. The Roll Call thread is a great place to get the support that we all need. Remember to keep up with your nutricianal tracker. I believe it's the most important thing you have in your arsenal for a healthy life. If you go to high or too low you will not get the most optimal results. About me - I am a registered nurse, working full time as well as completing my master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner. I am in my final year! WhoHoo!. I homeschool my children (with the help of my husband) and work occasionally at the local college. I lost 45 lbs a few years ago prior to having my second child, so I know I can do this. There have been many struggles over the last few years, but on June 2 this year, I woke up and thought ENOUGH! It was time to get myself back in shape and on track. I still have a lot on my plate, but will make this commitment.

I am a competitive person so these challenges work great for me. It is what helped me last time.

I have made some commitments to myself
- I will ride my bike to work whenever possible.
- I will compete in the local triathlon in May 2016
- I will feel great about myself when I graduate next spring!
- I will lose this weight and keep it off!

You have your hands full with all the members of your family both human and friends. Although you shouldn't be a slave to the numbers you do want to eat healthy as well as exercise.

So glad you joined our awesome team. We are a great bunch of supportive people. I hope you find your home in our team. We want you to stick with it and enjoy the challenges and other threads we have going. Everything can be joined at any time. We want you to have fun. If you need support come to the ROLL CALL thread. There is always someone there to help and encourage. emoticon

If you don't want to pay attention to the scale their other indicators that may be of encouragement. Loose clothes, smaller inches or just feeling "right" to name a few. I personally do not want to be at the optimal BMI. I have been up and down the scale so many times that if I lost to much I would look all saggy which is not appealing at all. You should set yourself individual short term goal such as 1 inch around your stomach per month for example. Some way to measure your success. Otherwise you never really know just how successful you really are and if you can't realize the success then its easy to get discouraged and lose focus. Keep in mind slow and steady wins the race. emoticon emoticon Losing weight to fast makes it more difficult to maintain later. I think you have a great attitude that being healthy and exercising is the key and everything else will just fall into place. Let us know on the ROLL CALL thread how you are doing. There are always encouraging members there. emoticon emoticon

You've been with the team for a bit now. You have joined an awsome and encouraging bunch. I have noticed you around the pages and I look forward to hearing about your struggles and successes. Are you logging in everything you are eating? Logging is one of the best tools you have in your arsenal of good health. We often don't realize just how many calories we put into our bodies each day. If you have any questions, comments or just want to say Hi, stop on by the ROLL CALL and get to know us. I look forward to hearing from you.

How long have you been with Sparkpeople? - This time, since April 2015.
Marital Status - Married (almost)
Children - 3
Pets - 2 dogs, fish, guinea pigs, 2 horses, and a beardie

About me - I am a high school librarian, history teacher, and softball coach. Softball is my sport of choice and how I currently get most of my exercise. I have a very difficult time saying no. I also struggle with making time for just me. My goal is to become more fit and healthy. In the process I will lose weight. But I am trying very hard to not be a slave to the numbers. It is about how I feel.
Love and light!

So glad you joined our awesome team. We are a great bunch of supportive people. I hope you find your home in our team. We want you to stick with it and enjoy the challenges and other threads we have going. Everything can be joined at any time. We want you to have fun.

It's great that you are working out so hard but you might want to change it up once in awhile. Your muscles actually get used to the same exercise and if you change it up it your body will get toned more quick and its good to use other muscles. Also if you speed up and slow down you burn more callyories. There is a whole circuit that can be done while working out.

If you need support come to the ROLL CALL thread. There is always someone there to help and encourage.

Hi all. I am new to this team

Username: SWATISRIVASTAV

NAME: Swati

Where are you from? (state or country): India

How long have you been with SparkPeople: I joined in 2010 but have started being active on spark since January 2015

Marital Status: Married

Children and/or pets: One boy (15 months old)

What motivates you: My biggest motivator these days is my son. I dont want to feel tired playing with him. I want to be able to run with him and participate more in his games and daily activities.

Anything goes: My husband stays in Mumbai for his work and I stay at a small town Anand for my job. I have applied for a transfer to Mumbai and its still in pipeline. My husband comes here every weekend. Taking care of a 15 month old alone makes me so tired at times that I simply want to sit and do nothing. Also, my biggest challenge is finding time to exercise as there is no one to take care of my son while I exercise. So, I have to do it while he sleeps. I do take walks with my son, but for some serious cardio/ strength training exercises, I need to carve out time from my already busy schedule.

Recently I have got addicted to sparkpeopple. I love posting blogs here and getting motivated by fellow sparkers. I try to find time out to read their blogs and do my share in their journey by commenting on their blogs trying to motivate them.

Wow you sure have you hands full with a family spread out like that. Watch out that little girl will have daddy wrapped around her little finger. little girls and Daddy's have a special bond .

I'm so glad you decided to join this awesome team. We are an encouraging, caring team. I hope you find yourself at home here. emoticon

We would love to be a part of you becoming a healthier you. I can totally relate to the difficulty of maintaining your momentum. As we get closer to our goal it seems to get a bit more difficult. I'm trying to maintain my loss and I believe that maintaining is more difficult than losing. I have a few suggestions for you. First read my blog"making friends with your food". It has the tips and tricks that helped me lose 100 pounds. If you get a chance join us on the ROLL CALL thread. We help each other stay on task through encouragement. Are you still tracking your food intake? Tracking your food and exercise can be tedious but it keeps you in sinc with what is really going on. I know when I'm not tracking my memory plays tricks on me and my picture of what I've done does not match with reality. I hope this has been some help.

If you have any questions please get a hold of one of us on the ROLL CALL thread. emoticon emoticon emoticon I look forward to hearing from you soon.

How long have you been with SparkPeople: On and off for 7 years, but mostly off.

Marital Status: Married
Children and/or pets: 3 kids, boys are 16 and 20. and I have a 13 month old daughter

What motivates you: I don't feel good anymore, I'm tired. Too many sedentary years and I need to fix it while I still can. With the baby daughter I know I need to squeeze a bunch more years out of this body.

Anything goes: I got down to my goal weight when I started using spark, and at the same time quit smoking. Then I ended up gaining back almost 50lb. I'm very frustrated and find it hard to eat right, I feel deprived. I've given up my other habits now have to give up eating what I want too. Staying motivated has been hard, I do well for a week then end up bingeing for a day. Also I've had a ton of trouble finding an active team this time around, there are so many of them and its hard sometimes to tell the living for the dead ones.
I guess that all sounds pretty negative but I want to feel better again, I'm not nearly as old as I feel, and know it can be better. I just want results and am so impatient about seeing improvements.

It's hard to not pay attention to the scale but their other indicators that may be of encouragement. There is no end to weight loss and maintenance. You should set yourself short term goal such as 1-2 pounds per week. The long term goal is to lose ## pounds in total. Losing weight to fast makes it more difficult to maintain later. I would suggest 1-2 pounds per week. Use 2 jars filled with cotton balls. Every time you complete your goal take one cotton ball out of Jar 1 and place it into jar 2. Your loss can be stalled for many reasons. Keep close track of everything that goes into your mouth. We often find that we are ingesting more calories than we think. In fact we tend to think that if I ingest 1600 calories and I am losing 1-2 pounds then by dropping my calories that to 1200 I'll lose even more. Doing this can have the opposite effect to your weight loss. Try to never go below 1200 calories. If you lose your appetite that is a sure sign that your body is in starvation mode and you are eating to few calories. Let us know on the ROLL CALL thread how you are doing. There are always encouraging members there. emoticon emoticon

How long have you been with SparkPeople: More years than I can count but only off and on

Marital Status: common-law but may as well say married as it's been so many years
Children and/or pets: None
What motivates you: The desire to be a healthier me who can keep up with the people around me. To be able to climb the flight of stairs to my office without getting so out of breath that I have to pause before opening the door.

Anything goes: I could echo everything Nicole said here. My husband says I start lots of things but seldom finish anything. I believe weight loss and the accompanying lifestyle change has no end so it isn't finishing it that is my goal but sticking with the game instead of taking my ball and going home when I experience a setback.

Think highly of yourself because the world takes you are your own estimate. --Unknown

We would love to be a part of you becoming a healthier you. You have the right attitude. This is not a diet. This needs to be a life change. We need to find new foods that we really enjoy and at the same time not depriving ourselves. Try reading my blog "Make friends with your food". Many have found it very helpful. Also you can find a lot of support on the ROLL CALL tread. I look forward to seeing your posts soon.

If you have any questions please get a hold of one of us or anyone else on the ROLL CALL thread. emoticon emoticon emoticon I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Introduction!

My user name: Msplacedagain
My name: Eden

I have been on SparkPeople since 2013, on and off.

I successfully lost 25 pounds. The last year brought lots of exciting changes to me and my family. New job for me, moved from old house, downsized into new house, youngest started high school, oldest started college. With all these exciting changes came a lack of focus on my eating, and weight gain.

I live in Austin Tx. I enjoy going to my local YMCA and doing BodyPump and Yoga.

I came into Spark 11/2 years ago. I came because I had just recently found out I had a heart condition. It was due to fragments from hitting a stirring wheel where my new car was totaled on the third day I owned it in 1993. I was going 35 miles an hour then hit by someone going 95 at 9:30 in the morning. I stepped out of my demolished car to go on and become the walking disabled with 8 illnesses that were constantly with me. After 12 years feeling like the victim, God helped me to cure myself in two days, and I stepped out older, yet healthy. Yet this recent illness was from bone eating prescriptions given to me that released fragments in my chest. I went on to be laid off with everyone from my work, searching for work for nearly 5 years. Now 2 years later, I am now retired but stress never ends. I have put on 65 pounds, and have taken off only 10 recently. I just want to get back to living, and being healthy. I think I am a secret closet writer, because I really enjoy blogging here, and ministering to people. I am a born again Christain-8 years now.eva

Where are you from? Just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio!

Marital Status: Single

Children and/or pets: No kiddos, but I have a German Shepherd Lab mix named Marshall! He's a very chill dog and we've had him since he was a puppy. :) I also have a puppy-nephew named Gus. He's a pocket beagle and super ornery!

What motivates you: Encouraging words. A well timed "you're doing a great job" or "I see how hard you're working," or "thinking of" or "praying for you" can make a big difference! I'm also motivated by stories of others who are living well and doing amazing things. In terms of fitness, I'm motivated by friends, goals based around set events, trips, or milestones, and music!

Anything goes:

I drink more tea than most people. So good!

I love Jesus.

I work as a virtual assistant and am on staff of a ministry for women entrepreneurs in creative arts fields (photographers, videographers, bloggers, writers, designers, etc.).

I absolutely love yoga and am keeping the thought of looking into becoming an instructor filed away in my brain for "maybe someday." In the mean time, I'm practicing at home, getting used to the poses, and attending classes when I can.

I broke my ankle on a missions trip to Ecuador back in February. PT went really well and I've strengthened my ankle up since being released in May. I'm hoping to restart C25K early this spring and run my first 5K by the end of the summer!

I'm a really positive person... "incurably optimistic" as I like to say. So encouragement, pep talks, reminders of love and happy things... all my jam. :)

xoxo!

xoxo,
KK

I almost had gastric bypass surgery also. I decided against it because I didn't like the way my life would change after surgery. Also everybody around me gained the fat back after a few years. I decided to lose weight the right way for the first time in my life.

Wow you sure have been through a lot. I agree that our bodies are capable of fantastic things when given a chance. I believe that good health is the key to a happy life. Getting there can be a real challenge. I myself struggled with it for years before I found the key to success. Please feel free to give me any suggestions on future challenges. I've been doing this about a year now and could always use some fresh ideas. Please let us know on the ROLL CALL thread. The ROLL CALL thread has morphed into our teams support group. You can find me there on most days. Have a healthy day!!

Hello everyone!
My name is Alexis.
I live near Niagara Falls, NY.
I have been a member for two days now.
I have five children ages 8, 10, 12, 14, and 19.
I work part time at Subway (eat fresh)!
I am a full time student at the University of Phoenix online (yr 3), working towards my degree in communications with a concentration in media arts.
I have decided to loose my years of built up having kids, and emotional eating fat. I almost had gastric bypass surgery, but I chose to be a role model for my overweight children. If I can still move and breathe, I can still work it off! (I am not criticizing those who have chosen that route) I just chose to make this a family thing (yay group effort)!

How long have you been with SparkPeople: a couple of weeks (12/2014)

Marital Status: married
Children and/or pets: Two dogs
What motivates you: When my husband looks at me and says "It's good to have you back." For awhile, poor health left me depressed with little energy, and he felt like he was losing his happy-go-lucky wife. When I realize how much my health affects those close to me, it motivates me to want better.

Anything goes: What else would you like to share about you?
I'm hosting a monthly health competition on another site and joined this one mostly out of curiosity of how others do challenges. I'm a new wellness coach and joined SparkPeople to hear others' stories about their health struggles and accomplishments, of what worked or didn't work for them, and of what motivates them.

In 2007-2009, I was unknowingly exposed to mold in our home, and I went through the gamut with mysterious symptoms. Muscle spasms, nausea and loss of appetite, skipped periods, mood swings, panic attacks, depression, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, silent migraines, fatigue, loss of concentration, food allergies, etc. It's been a long road, some ups and downs, but I've learned so much about what our bodies are capable of if we just give them what they need. My focus is on making healthier choices and being sure to take time for myself so I don't get stressed.

You have come to the right place! We are an encouraging, caring bunch of members. I hope you find yourself at home here. emoticon The best place to meet some motivated group is on the ROLL CALL thread. That has become our support group. Also we just started a new thread called December restart. It's not to late to join. Choose one or more goals for this month and come back daily to give your update on how your doing. It's helps to be accountable. Remember slow and steady wins the race emoticon emoticon . Setting yourself with small winnable goals over short periods should help. However don't make those goals to difficult. We need those successes to keep us going. I hope you are following your food tracker. I believe this to be the single most important item in your weight loss arsenal. emoticon I'm so glad you have joined us and I look forward to reading your posts often.

You have a great attitude and your goal is fantastic. A long healthy life is one of the best reasons for getting healthy that I can think of. I love your quote. My favorite is "a little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men". It's from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I've been fairly active on this team for a couple of weeks and haven't introduced myself.

My name is Theresa - the username is a reminder to myself. I'm 60 and retired in July after 22 years as an admin in a city planning department. My primary goal for retirement is to improve my health so that I can stick around longer for my wonderful husband, three children, six grandchildren, and great granddaughter - and enjoy them.

We live in what is considered rural Washington (but were born in Kentucky where it is really is rural). Only one of our sons and his twin daughters are nearby. Our other son is in New York and our daughter in Florida. We keep up with video chats and Facebook.

I love to walk and dance. I do weight-training but primarily walk and dance to reach my personal daily goals of 10,000 steps and 20 flights.

My health problems (besides my weight) are generally not life-threatening. I have a number of allergies and chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives with no known cause). I also have bone spurs on the back of both knees and a bum ankle. But, I bounce instead of breaking when I fall or get injured, so it's not all bad.

My favorite quote probably sums me up best: "If you can't poke fun at yourself, you leave the job to someone else - and they may not be so kind!" (Mark Twain).

emoticon

LOREN,
emoticon Now that I have some information about you I can welcome you a bit more personally. I react to praise myself. It's hard for me to stay motivated when no one is recognizing it. My DH doesn't seem to understand that. Then again he is skinny as a rail and lives off of skittles and soda. And he's healthy as a horse. Some people. I have family in the suburbs of Indiannapolis. It's been a bit since I've been able to visit them. I hope you are enjoying the team. I look forward to seeing you often.

Where are you from? (state or country): I am currently in Indianapolis IN.
How long have you been with SparkPeople: since 2007, december. So uh 7 years. Thought I had some down time then and again.

Marital Status: Married to a wonderful weirdo
Children and/or pets: No kids, no pets at this time. Lots of plush dogs though
What motivates you:
- knowing that I am doing the right thing
-doing what I said I will do
yah, my sense of responsibility is pretty strong :).
-helping people
I'm into intrinsic motivation. Rewards don't really work for me, but knowing people are proud of me, or can rily on me is what makes me tick.
Okay that was too long for so little reward hehe.
Anything goes: What else would you like to share about you?
Hmm. Let's see.
Spark related things

I do like working out, but I do most of it in the AM before work, so I get up really early. I want to work out more in the morning but getting up earlier just doesn't work. When I get close to the 430 am mark I just can't get going, so 445 is the current time.
On some days I workout multiple times. Right now my work gym is getting a much needed renovation so I don't get my lunchtime workout. :(, Once it is open again January, I'll be back at it with my at work work out buddies.

Over the years I lost over 100 pounds. It took me about 4 years. Then it came back with a vengeance. Now I work towards getting healthy. If the weight goes down, great. If not, i just want to make sure I am the best I can be.

I occasionally do races, not because I am competitive, it just seems like something I should do on occasion. Nice to have a goal :).

Indianapolis IN - Eastern Time Zone.

Did my first Sprint Triathlon September 14th 2014.

Ran my first Marathon, Indianapolis Indiana October 16th 2010.

Also Diet coke is a killer. I used to drink a two liter bottle a day! When I quit the soda and started drinking water I dropped almost 20 pounds in about two months. It does something in your brain that mimics sugar and your body reacts like it is sugar and retains the weight anyway. I didn't like water but forced myself. Now I love water. It's just a matter of training your taste buds.

My niece's name is also Christina. I have 4 grandchildren that range from 21-4 and I'm 56 years old. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! emoticon I also love balloons.

I'm so glad you decided to join this awesome team. We are an encouraging, caring bunch of members. I hope you find yourself at home here. emoticon You are a long term SPARKPEOPLE member and chose our team and that makes me really happy.

Setting yourself up with small winnable goals over short periods should help. We need those successes to keep us going, but I'm sure you already know that. I hope you are following your food tracker. I believe this to be the single most important item in your weight loss arsenal. If you eat to many or to few calories it will stall your weight loss efforts. My personal challenge to you is to set yourself up with a reasonable goal for this week and meet that goal. Let me know on the ROLL CALL thread what that goal is so we can all help you get there. Do you accept this
challenge? Please let us know on the ROLL CALL thread. The ROLL CALL thread has morphed into our teams support group. You can find me there on most days. Have a healthy day!!

As I am from Australia I was using CalorieKing, but stumbled across Spark People whilst surfing the web. Even though I have to add most of my food to the SP database, I like the support, articles and the fact that I can blog to like minded people and get encouragement and support.

I am 53 years old (54 tomorrow), my children are all grown up, I have one child living at home, my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter is married with twins, boy and a girl (grandkids) and lives a 2 min walk up the road, my son just got married and also lives away from home. I have just completed a Diploma in Management and am commencing a Diploma in Business Administration I am also in my first year of Nutritional Medicine. I am currently out of work, and this depresses me, that is why I turned to study to keep me busy and my mind on other things. I am actively looking for work, but enjoy studying.

I also love animals, like to read and go for long walks, I love the ocean and coastal areas but unfortunately don't live near a coast to satisfy me, but my kids take me for trips to the coastal areas every now and then to keep me satisfied. I love technology, and like to learn how things work and why they do certain things, I am a very curious person when it comes to technology.

What motivates you: I think feeling my clothes fit better. When I feel they're not tight, not only is it more comfortable, but encouraging. My daughter is extremely athletic too and she motivates me to want to be in my best shape as well. I'm also a list maker, so being able to check things off, like achieved goals and whatnot, is fun.

Anything goes: What else would you like to share about you? I love writing, drawing, reading, and photography. And coke - I love it a little too much and that's one thing I'm trying to cut back on. :) I started working part time last spring and since then, have just not found as much time to exercise. Or I have it, but then I'm just tired at the day's end. So I'm hoping by being in a group like this, I can keep up with what I want to accomplish better than I have been on my own!

Have a healthy day!!!

Do you accept this challenge? Please let us know on the ROLL CALL thread. The ROLL CALL thread has morphed into our teams support group. You can find me there on most days. Have a healthy day!!

I took my mom to Victoria, BC last year for Mother's Day. I have to say that your country is beautiful and the people are extremely nice and polite. It was a pleasant surprise as here in the SF Bay Area such is not the case.

You have joined the best team in all of Sparkdom. Maybe I'm a bit biased. We are an encouraging, caring bunch of members. I hope you find yourself at home here. emoticon The ROLL CALL tread is where we meet to encourage and support each other so I hope you join us there so we can help get you motivated.

What motivates you: at the moment I am finding it hard to get motivated - have started to lapse back into bad habits, so am looking for a team to challenge me and help me get refocused on getting back on track.

Anything goes: What else would you like to share about you?
In the past year I have had both knees replaced, which has made a big improvement in my mobility.

How long have you been with SparkPeople: Since January of 2013... I didn't really get serious about it until July of this year though

Marital Status: Engaged
Children and/or pets: I have one dog named Roy, he's a boxer.
What motivates you: Many things motivate me, but the main thing is that I really enjoy life and I would love to keep on living it for a good long while without feeling like I'm dying with every step that I take.

Anything goes: I'm a bookworm. I love to read books of all kinds, but I guess mainly it's fantasy such as Lord of the Rings and all that good stuff. I love to play games. Right now I'm playing the Sims 4. I'm doing what is called a 100 baby challenge on there currently, lol. I love to craft things. I'm just a geeky crafter :D Also, recently I've discovered that I really do enjoy exercising.

In March 2013 I had to have a knee replaced. I thought I would be "up and running" in no time. Um no.....Over the year I managed to gain 50+ lbs that I am determined to get rid of!
I somehow lost my focus and am here on this team to get it back!
I'm happy to see this team is active and I appreciate the team leaders for all their time creating challenges for the rest of us! (yes, I poked around on the threads for a few days just to be sure I wanted to be here emoticon

How long have you been with SparkPeople: I'm back after a hiatus. All together, I have been on this site about 5 years I think.

Marital Status: Engaged
Children and/or pets: 2 chihuahuas
What motivates you: I will eventually get married and I would like to look great in my dress. I would also like to be around a long time to come so I can be there for my man and my girls.

Anything goes: What else would you like to share about you?
I love to participate in challenges on this website. I enjoy the weekly challenge teams but my favorite team is The Biggest Loser Mailing List. They have a repeating 12-week challenge. It's challenging, a whole lot of fun and usually commands results!

How long have you been with SparkPeople: I have been a member since 2010, but not really a serious member until last year in June. I had a wake up call when my heart went into AFIB, not life threatening, but a wake up call none the less.

Marital Status: Married for 32 years
Children and/or pets: 2 grown children, 3 grandchildren
What motivates you: trying to always remember my parents died from cancer, and I don't want to follow in their footsteps. I need to change the lifestyle choices that contribute to being overweight.
