I understand how hard it is when you gain weight back. I've lost about 400 pounds in 20 pound increments 20 times over. My problem obviously is maintenance. I'm going to really have to work on that when I am done with the loosing part. I'm hoping Spark People can help me with this!

Hi there and welcome! I'm new too and understand the frustration with gaining weight back. I lost 20 pounds for my wedding (wanted to lose 40) and then gained 10 back. Very frustrating, but I know for me is because I fell back into bad habits.

While I'm not menopausal yet, age is a bitch. I brisk walk ten years ago and I'd lose 10 pounds. Now if I think about food, I gain weight. :) Well, not seriously, but you get what I mean.

Good luck on your journey! Don't let the pitfalls get to you; we all have them. Make mistakes and learn from them. Make sure your brain and heart knows that giving up is not an option and you'll surprise yourself!

Hi, I'm Ali and a little under 12 months ago I started on a program to lose at least 5kg by the time I turned 50 in Feb 14'.
Well I did manage to lose 6kg by that time and it took me about 4 months. However, I put it all back on in 3 months. Shattered would be the understatement. Now that I am menopausal it's soooo much harder to lose it. I'm also nearly finished my personal trainer course and certainly don't feel like a very good role model.
Anyway, the only way is to get out there and do it, so I'd love some support and help from other like minded people to help me to achieve my goal of getting back to 85kg and further. Thanks.
