Hello I just started on 1/6 and after some rough days i know what going on I went over my calories 3 days in a row and I know why now that I havent been losing. I am really happy today and I am doing well on the tracker so far.Lets hope I make it today.would love to make some friends.

Within the past two years I have had several health issues which caused me to gain weight. I have been pushing ever since to get back to the way I was. Until recently, it seemed like no matter how much I pushed myself or how many things I was doing right, nothing was changing. I always said how much I wanted to get back to the 'old me'. Someone kept telling me to stop looking back and comparing my past and present body. After ignoring that person for months, I finally took a stab at focusing on how my body was at that moment.
Now that I am living for the present and future, my mood as uplifted. I recently joined a new gym and I love the change. I have been a healthy eater and have played sports/exercised most of my life, but I still faced weight gain. I still have moments were doubt and sadness occur because I just want to be fit for my body. It is hard when I feel like there is nothing else I can improve. I then have to rid these thoughts because negative thoughts are not going to help. Feeling sorry for myself isn't going to help anything. I also found out that I could be doing more, like getting more sleep and drinking more water.
Keep positive, and keep going forward! Put motivational sticky notes on mirrors, hang out with friends who care about who you are inside and who will stick with you, etc.
Use the motivation of gaining weight back to empower you when exercising and throughout your day. BUT DON'T think that you can't change because you lost weight and then gained it back. Learn to love your body! (I will never be a skinny model, nor do I want to! I want to look fit for my body type). I wish you all the best.

Hi all!! I am new to the message boards, but not to Spark People. This seems like my hundredth attempt to lose weight and develop healthy habits. I am frustrated with myself because I had lost 40 pounds several years ago and seemed to have gained it all back. I can't even say how did this happen, I know exactly what lead to my demise!
I hope to obtain some motivation to continue on this difficult lifestyle change and meet a few new friends who know what this along the way. I wish you all success in your journey!
