I have GERD and take Nexium but still have reflux when i lay down.
I find that taking a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in water and that
helps to relieve the acid. I find chewing some fresh ginger helps.
Does anyone else find the same results?

Hello! Thank you the reply. I seldom hear of anyone with Barrett's.
I still have heartburn once in a while, but I have food backing up into my esophagus at night when I go to bed. I suppose that I should elevate my head.
I currently take omeprozole 1x daily.
How is your doctor treating your condition?

Have a wonderful day!! Carolyn

Welcome to our team. I wish you well in reaching your goals, and that the Barret's behaves itself. Paying attention to lifestyle changes can help a lot with that, as well as the care from your health providers.

Take care,
Kris

I have been diagnosed with Barret's too but my medications and life style changes are helping. Welcome to the team.

Hi! I am new to this but, like the rest of you, not acid reflux. Mine has been severe enough that I have Barretts Esophagus, which I am sure that you all know is not good. My gastro doc takes good care of me.... Perhaps we can all learn something new here in prevention and treatment...
