Hi, I'm new to this forum but not to SP. I've been here for about a year or so....I kept falling off the wagon and re-starting...
I'm finally dedicated completely and have begun to utilize the forums and message boards. I find that they truly help me stay on track and hold myself accountable. So, I'm looking forward to reaching my goal quickly and continuing this healthy lifestyle

Appreciate yourself and honor your soul.

Just saying hi. I've been on for a little bit, but now getting involved, active, and taking it seriously. In Honolulu, married with no children (yet). Another motivating factor, to lose weight to make my future (hopefully) pregnancy better.

Hi everyone. About our 20 lb challenge, I am going to start tomorow, March 1st. I think the best way is to post your current wt. on this board (mine is 168 lbs) and every Sat. post your loss. Through the week we can encourage each other. If anyone has a better idea on how to track let us know. Good luck everyone. Lindy

Welcome Bobbie! All of us here are trying to come together to drop 20 pounds originally we were going to set it for April but i believe most of us are thinking more like May! I have been on here before back in September I lost like 10 pounds got off track and here I am again! Any way we are ALL glad to see you here and will offer any kind of motivation you need! My first suggestion if you aren't already track your food every day even if you just start out by saying what and how much you ate. You'll be surprised to see what you are eating and all the things you can cut back on! Best of luck!!!

I'd Love to join your challenge! I'm apart of another group but I too need more support! I do have a buddy that I talk with occassionally but I need more! I am 23 yrs old and from New Jersey, I graduated college last year and have put on at least 20 pounds working a crappy desk job! I need to lose it! I've been at the workout and eating right since the beginning of February late jan and haven't seen ANY changes. I know that it takes some time but I need to see a change to feel that i'm getting somewhere!

How will we track? will we post every week or to show our stats or will we just blog how we are doing?

Hi Everyone! I'm just joining this team and I'm really glad to meet you. I'm 60 years old and have struggled with my weight all my life. I've lost 30+ lbs. several different times over the years, and I'm really tired of this. I want to figure out once and for all why I keep doing this. I eat if I'm happy, sad, mad, glad, tired or any old reason at all.

I'm really enjoying this site and hope to meet a lot of new friends for help and support.

Hi, my name is Kay. I've been hesitant to try the message boards because it is something new/different/unknown; however, my need for support has finally surpassed my fear of trying something new. I need to lose 45 - 50 lbs. It seems such an overwhelming task, but all my efforts have failed so far. Therefore, I have to try something new. So, here I am. I look forward to learning from everyone and getting to my goal. I want my energy back; I want to comfortably fit into my clothes, and I want to be healthy.

Hi, I'm Dan and for the past few years my weight has hovered around the 200 lb. mark. About 5 years ago, my weight was closer to 210, but I went on one of those low carb diets and I was able to get down to about 170 in just a few months. I liked the way I looked then, but the pounds came back after about a year or so. I'd like to get back to that weight and try to maintain a lifestyle to keep the pounds off. Hopefully, I can connect with some people here to help me keep motivated. :-)

Hello Everyone

I'm 44 and for the last few years I've weighed around 180 pounds. That's a bit much for my 5'3" frame. I would like to lose at least 30 pounds, lower my blood pressure without medication and quit eating so much meat (especially sick cows). I can't do it alone but I know with your support I will succeed!! I will start my new way of life on 2/25/2008. Thank you for your help in advance...

HI EVERYONE!

I have an idea. Since we all have something in common - well, actually two things -
losing 25-50 pounds, and have left Sparks only to come back - why don't we form our own Challenge and Support Group? Maybe the "Come back Girls" or something like that. We can ALL lose 20 pounds by April...take it a week at a time...
What do you say?

HI Lindy, sounds like a good plan that gives you lots of flexibility. I,m doing 1200 to 1500 calories (usually about 1300 - 1400) per day and am trying to walk 10,000 steps a day. I do this either at the gym, my treadmill or just walking around during the day. My main thing is also portion control and staying motivated to stick with it.

Hello again. My calorie range is 1300 to 1800, I exercise 2 times a week at a class, we do cardio, weights, and abe work. Each week she changes the workout so we don't get too used to it. Also I walk the dog for 40 min. a day after work. I think my main problem is portion control. In Sept. I am going to the States (Grove City PA.)on a shopping trip and I hope to get some new, smaller cloths. Bye for now, Lindy

Hi Everyone,

It's 3:30 a.m. and I couldn't sleep. This is my first time joining a team. I'm so ready to finally lose weight and start feeling better about myself. I've tried more times than I can count, so I'm hoping having a support system will do the trick.

HI everyone:
I joined Sparks LAST year - end of April...and basically failed. I am at the EXACT same weight I was...well, lost the three or four I gained during the holidays...but I am sooo frustrated and upset with myself. Had I stuck with it...well, anyway, no shoulda, coulda, wouldas....
New day, new year....and 30+ pounds to lose. Anyone doing low-carb? My doctor suggested it - to jump start.
I guess we are all here because we at least have the intention to lose the weight - so I am hoping we can all be of support to each other - especially those of you like me - off the wagon/on the wagon. I want to do this right - 2 lbs per week or so.
From those of you that have HAD success and STAYED with this, any thoughts or advice or????

Hi I've been on spark people since last May and I really battle to stay motivated and eat the right foods. I go through phases and find for the most part especailly Friday, Saturday and Sundays I binge.
I don't have the will power and wish I could stay on top of the situation. I started off at 181lbs and have only lost 9lbs. Every time I loose couple of pounds I gain a few the following week. I eat because I love food and I don't find vegetables and fruits filling. I a;lso find I am hungry 15 minutes after I have had a huge meal. I've tried eating mainly proteins and still battle. Any suggestions?

Hello I am 30 years old. A mother of two great children. I am hoping that counting my calories is going to help me reach my goal. I have been big all of my life. I am afraid that my daughter is right behind me, she is nine and is over 100 pounds, I need all the support I can get, I seem to lose everything on the weekends. Any ideas?

Hi there! I am back on the wagon for good and have just today decided to change my weight loss goal from 155 lbs to 135 lbs (so, 40 lbs to lose instead of 20). I've been scared to actually write that I want to lose 40 lbs because it seems SOOO far away...and 20 lbs seemed a bit more do-able. But 40 lbs is what I should lose so I'm off and running and hoping that I make it. My goal is to lose about 5 lbs a month - which seems like a healthy pace that I can mantain.

Hi to Everyone-my name is Cindy, and I have 50 lbs to lose. I lost 50 a few years back(more like five) and hover within ten lbs of my current weight. Somewhere I got stuck and never found the motivation to finish the trip-that's why I am here!

Looking forward to chatting and challenges!

Cindy

Hi everyone my name is Natalie. I have been a member of SP for a while now, off and on, but can never seem to be consistent. I have been struggling with my weight my whole life. I was 230 lbs when I was 16 years old and I now weight about 165 at age 23. In the past 2 months I have started working out 4 days a week (aggressively) but still have only maintained my weight because my eating habits suck! I am coming back online to try to get focused again and reach my goal by summer '08. Wish me luck!

Hi my name is Jenni. I am hoping to lose about 25 pounds in time for summer. I have been having a hard time losing weight, but hopefully with watching my calories I can be successful!

Hi I'm Caz,
I'm from across the pond in England and joined SP to help me keep on the straight and narrow. So far it's working!
I had to have a brain operation last April to help improve a rare neurological condition called Dystonia-which meant I couldn't be very active.
I now have a new lease of life and have NO INTENTION of wasting any opportunity to keep on the move.
On New Year's Day I decided this was the time to get trim and fit and have surprised myself how much I can do by increasing my cardio week on week.
Just wanted to say HI everyone emoticon
Love
Caz

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.......

The time you spend in the entire process of readying for your journey is worth its weight in gold

Hello everyone, I haven't been very active since I started and have been here on and off and never used the forums due to some health issues and giving up for a time, but I am back and ready to go! Thought I would say hello and wish everyone well.

Hi everyone. My name is Jacquie. I had a baby three weeks ago, and I am just getting back into working out. I used to work out all the time, but some lifestyle changes got in my way, and I stopped for about three years. Then, when we decided to have a baby, I didn't work out much at all. I am hoping this group will keep me motivated to get back into shape again.
