Good morning everyone!!!!!!! I have been so off track, just alot going on. I also have a 15month old. I have so many goals right now, but mainly I just want at least all the baby weight off. I am really good about eating right at work but when I get home it is all down hill. For all those moms out there that use a treadmill at home, What or HOW do you keep your toddlers occupied so you can go on the treadmill???!! I dont live with his dad, so I cant ask him to watch him. Any ideas!??!

Hi, I am Deanie. I joined last year, but with 2 deaths in my family and my sister getting breast cancer, I just totally lost all motivation. I'm back now and ready to do what it takes to get this weight off. Mainly, I am "sick and tired" of being sick and tired. Carrying around this extra weight is really
making me old before my time. I bought a notebook and divided it up by week days. I have started journaling, hoping that it will help me stay on track. I am committing to come here and support others and find support. This looks like a good group. I look forward to getting to know you on this weight loss journey. emoticon

Welcome everyone! Glad to see so many of us found our way back "home". Its hard to stay away after you get used to all the help that this site gives. Yes, at first, the nutrition tracker was a pain..but I soon learned that I needed to do it for me. I hope to see you all on the board- a lot! Keep us updated on your achievements (good and bad)

Keep at it- you can do it!!

Hi Steph,
Seems like it's a good time to get back on track for everyone! Time to stop hiding. It's just so easy to do. I think maybe I dropped a pound or two over the past few weeks but I already feel better (mentally) just knowing I'm doing something about my weight. It's a hard road but we somehow need to look ahead. I'm trying to avoid the scale and look at it only once or twice a month because those numbers not budging can be very discouraging! Keep in touch. I need some buddies!!!

Hello all. My name is Deserae and I have been a member of SP for awile now but lost my way for bit. I am now very committed to losing my extra weight. I think it has to do with turning 30 soon. I recently convinced my hubby to loose weight with me, which helps a bunch because I can cook 1 meal for the whole family instead of 2. Here's to the new year and the new me!

Hey, I am back at it again. I lost weight 2 years ago during a weightloss contest at my job. I won the contest, $700 dollars, i went from 190 to 130. I lost 60 pounds in 7 months. I worked out everyday and didnt eat past 7pm, it was hard but worth it. Since then, I gained 30 pounds back and now married. I want to be a sexy wife for my husband and feel good about my body again. so here we go!

Hi, I am new to this cite, but not weight loss...I have been up and down my entire life. My highest weight was 230lbs and I am currently about 190. My goal is to be 145lbs. I hope SP will be a valuable tool in my weight loss journey!

Hey there Boxercrazy! I know just how you feel. I've secretly been plotting a way to just sort of drop out of society for about a year. Since I haven't come up with any valid plan to do so, I finally decided that I should just own up to myself and get out there and do the work. So, here I am as well. Good to hear from you!

I've been on this site for some time now. Like another poster, I felt like I didn't need the service offered here. Logging food was a chore and why do I need to post how I feel. Well, these things keep you on track. What astounded me was that someone actually read my blog and responded. I thought that was very cool for someone to take the time out to say a few words. I've joined a fitness boot camp in my area which was not cheap. Having shelled out that kind of money and never being involved in a group dynamic has given me a new outlook. I'm going to post my journey on my blog. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi from Indiana here. My name is Patti. I have been with SP a little over a year now. Not much of a 'poster kinda person'. The time has come to reach out for support, and be supportive to others. Sooooo away I go into a brand new phase of Spark!

We cannot change yesterday, we can only make the most of today and look with hope toward tomorrow.

Hello my name is Shawna and I am an emotional eater. I was thin all thru high school and thru my early 20's until I found alcohol at 21. I would lose weight then gain weight, back and forth. Until I was 25 when I moved to san diego. I fell in love then had a baby. That is when I gained the most weight, then my son's father and I split up...that was ugly. Well its been 4 years and I still have all the baby weight. It has to go, for me to be happy and move on with my life...FINALLY!

Hi, my name is Staci and I had a baby in January 2007. I had hoped to lose all the baby weight by now, and was only 8lbs away from that goal when I had to go back to work after 3 months of maternity leave. Since then I have gained back weight. I will be shortly leaving my high stress 6 day a week job for a more relaxed 2-3 day a week position in a lower stress job and have more days at home with my now 1 year old. This should also give me more time to dedicate to getting back into the best shape I can, and hopefully have another baby after I have reached my goal. Wish me luck, and I will enjoy giving/getting support from everyone while we all work to make our lives healthier.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Carla. I have been with sparks about 10 months now and I have lost 22lbs. Im a single mom with two kids 16 & 9.
About 8 years ago I took off over 100 lbs and kept it off for about 4 years. I then began gaining about 10lbs a year back. I was injured last January that put 10lbs on me and I was just fed up with myself and so scared to put the weight back on that I hard worked so hard to get off. I am abou 12 lbs within my goal and I might even want to loose another 10 lbs. I workout about for about an hour and a half 3 times a week and try to get extra "fun" cardio in thru-out the week.
I hope to get to know everyone and help or encourage anyone that comes my way as well as find those that can pick me up and kick me in the booty when I need it as well.

Good luck to all

Carla

Hello everyone! My name is Kirsten and I am 32, I have 2 daughters 8 and 5 and I just celebrated my 10 year wedding anniversary! I am tired of putting everyone else first and not taking care of myself. I joined a gym back in September and they have a day care so there is no excuse. I lost 10 pounds pretty fast but now I am stuck. I joined SP last year and did really well at first and stopped logging on. I want to lose 35 pounds and get to the 150 mark. I need help.

My problem is not over eating, I don't eat enough and what I do it is not the best for me. I need some balance.

I hope I can stick with it this time and really lose this extra weight!

Well, hear I am participating in my first chat forum on SparkPeople. My name is Matt

I've been getting SparkPeople for a while at the suggestion of a fellow fitness club owner. I own a 1-2-3 Fit franchise in Sacramento with my business partner but that is a side note.

Myself, I have found that this last several months have been very difficult to get fired up and motivated like I have been in the past.

About 6-7 years ago I weighed 420+ lbs. Over a 3 year period, with diet and exercise I lost over 180 lbs. What a journey that was, putting in some serious hours and taking my goals very seriously. So seriously that I got crazy and decided to help others and open the business.

That all being said, I have let about 40-50lbs creep back on. I know what I am capable of, I help others every day and I even have all of the tools at my disposal. I am very much aware of the need to exercise but have just had a hard time lately.

Part of the reason is that I use all of my motivation on others. I don't have anyone who really encourages me to go out there and get it done. By the time I get home from my day job (work for a large company by day) then doing an evening shift at the club there isn't a lot of time. I have an elliptical machine in my bedroom, my own fitness center, 2 memberships so cannot make up an excuse.

I need to get fired up, I need to get motivated. I need to get myself a support circle that I can check in with and keep myself on track.

I am starting today, back on my mission. I love feeling healthy, I love the way I feel when I am in the zone. I love when people notice that I have been losing weight. I am going to knock this weight back off. Don't get me wrong, I'm still proud of what I did but I will not allow myself to get back to that extreme point. Don't even want the sails to head in that direction.

I am going to get it done folks. I hope you are here to check in with me, help me stay accountable. I'll be sure to share with you on my road and help in any way I can. emoticon

Hi I'm Judy and I joined Spark a year ago and really never got involved. I figured I could do it myself and that I didn't really need all that was offered here. Boy was I ever WRONG! I totally need what Sparks has to offer. So I have rededicated myself to really getting involved and making a strong commitment to taking control of my eating habits. I have really appreciated, taken to heart and utilized all the suggestions and support I have received on the boards.
I look forward to making new sparks friends here and once and for all take control of my weight.

I'm back after looking at how I started this time last year and dropped out. Cooking for the family and working all day is what makes it difficult to lose weight. I love yoga and the elliptical as far as exercise goes. I need to find the time to do it though because I work during the day and then run my kids around to their sports after work. I cook on Sundays and freeze some meals during the week. Any tips on meals that I could make ahead that the family would enjoy but aren't high in calorie?

Hello everyone! I'm looking to really start using this site to motivate me and help me reach my goals. I saw the 3 ladies on Ellen this week and they talked about Sparkpeople so that really made me log back in and try this again. I've joined Curves this time and have a group of people there to help me keep on track. I'm hoping with the support of everyone on here it will also help. Here we go!!!

Life is not the way it is supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

Hi Stephanie, I too lost my mother to cancer on May 26th 2006. I was 29 when I lost her and my sister was 20. It was very hard. I stopped caring about myself and was very angry. My mother did as much as she could to live a healthy life she went to curves and that didn't seem to matter. We found out about her cancer on April 20th 2006 and not even a month later she was gone! It felt so unreal! I was angry and all I would do was eat all day. I could feel myself getting huge but I didn't care! My sister is getting married in Sept. of this year and it's hard to think my mom will not be there physically. Thanks to my sister I have started counting my calories and joined the gym last week. My goal is to lose 40lbs by Sept. for her Wedding and keep it off!
You quit smoking so I would say you are off to a great start! Keep up the good work! What is the name of your Spark team?

I promise myself
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on the greater achievements of the future..

Hi, my name is Stephanie. I'm doing this for my mother. I lost her in August at the very young age of 49. I'm only 18, just graduated, and ready for life and need my mom, but i know she's watching over me and helping me. She was at least 100 lbs. over weight, died of colon cancer, and wanted to lose weight. She wanted me to be healthier and I'm doing good. I used to smoke and quit on the 1st, I was 165 lbs I've only lost 5 lbs but I'm doing ok. I have my own SparkTeam for people who has lost loved ones to talk about what you're going through.

Hi,
I was here about a year ago and I lost my way a bit. This is the first time in about a year that I have had any motivation at all. I am incredibly unhappy with the way I look and feel. I am running out of clothes to wear and find myself avoiding social situations and just wanting to hide under my many sweatshirts at home. I will need to re-adjust my weight tracker...I haven't had the nerve to get on the scale yet. I am worried that when I see what it says, I will be even more depressed and run for nearest cookie! I need to make myself a priority and feel good again!

Hi I am Shawna. I used to be thin, but everytime I end up in a relationship I tend to let myself go. Well I had a kid 4 years ago and I have been single for almost 3 years......but have not managed to lose the weight, well now is the time!

Hey my name is Robyn. I have been with sp for about a year off an on. Now I'm dong nurtisystem and still trying to get my weight down. I have found out that i don't follow through on my weight loss. Need some moral support with food and exercise. My husband believes as soon as he compliments me on my weight -loss I allow it to go head and the regain all my weight back, not sure about that.

here's to less of us.

Hi, my name is Brandy.

I just can't take it anymore. I hate the way I look and feel, and I guess I've decided not to just let it be, anymore.
No more "Monday starts". No more splurges until I start, and no more wriggling into too tight clothes.
Even if I only lost the 25 and not the 50, I'd be happy.
I'm 5'8". 4 years ago I was 145 pounds. And thin. Now I weigh a horrific 193. I want to look the way I did then.
I'm a newly wed, and I just got my gall bladder out. It's been hard, adjusting to everything.

So yeah. Hi to everyone!

hi, my name is amy. i've been lurking for a while, recently renewed my motivation to a healthier me.
i did weight watchers a few years ago and lost over 100lbs. however, over the last few years i've put 40ish back on. so i'm tracking everything i eat and trying to get as much exercise in as i can.
i used to be a little obsessive about working out, but i'm in school right now and don't have as much time as i'd like -- so i'm doing the best i can. i'm really excited!

Hi, I'm somewhat new to this board. I joined spark people awhile ago but I barely visited the site. Now that I am very serious about losing weight part of my plan is to visit the site everyday. I would like to become more active in the forums. I'm hoping it will give me the motivation I need. Here's a little info about myself.

My name is Emilie and I'm 26 yo. I'm trying to lose anywhere from 20-35lbs. I'm trying to get back to my previous weight which was 130lbs but I'll be very happy with 140lb. I'm not only trying to lose the weight, I'm trying to develop new habits so I can stay at a healthy weight throughout my life.

i lead the slim for summer group. check it out sometime.

my motto this year is:
I WILL REACH MY GOAL WEIGHT IN 2008!

i hope this group will get me there.

if it was easy, everyone would be thin

Welcome to all of you! Just remember to start with "little" steps so you dont get overwhelmed! Make sure you track, track, track what you eat -that makes a big difference!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!!

Hi, my name is Cindy and I have been on SP since January 2007, but never really finished what I started. I'm from South Africa and have 55lbs (52) to lose before I reach my goal weight. I have already lost 3lbs in the last 2 weeks, just praying that I can keep it up this time, at least this time I have a lot of people motivating and supporting me.
Good luck to all of you!! emoticon

Welcome Bhat- I know you will find a lot of encouragement and things to help keep you motivated here. Remember to start with small steps- they lead to BIG changes.

Think of it as bettering your life and your health not as a diet that last for a few months. Once you get a regimine down- you will have no problems at all!

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Julie

Hi everyone! I've been yo-yoing and have decided to finally do something about it. I'm hoping by actually talking about it and writing down my failures and achievements, I'll actually be able to lose 20 pounds by June, and another 20 by Dec. of this year. Thanks for listening!
