Hi, I am Jude and I am a 64 year old nurse practitioner. In the past, I have always hated exercising, and did everything I could to remain a couch potato. I have made it to 232# and it is time for some changes to happen.
The thing that motivated me to get started is that in late June this year, I lost my balance and fell back, breaking my right wrist. The fall was purely that I am so out of shape that I just can't balance very well. Then I read an article about the balance problem is a problem of core strength rather than actual sensory balance. That did it!!
I signed up to go to the YMCA. My main goal is to do "something" every day. At this point I am not so concerned with weight loss as I am about just getting stronger and having more stamina. A personal goal is to be able to hike in the mountains with my grandkids. The weight will likely start coming off eventually.
I have 2 exercise buddies and we work out M,W, and F with Ron, who is a wonderful guy who gently pushes us to be the best we can be. Best money I have ever spent!!! On the off days I do cardio or water aerobics.
I met Jaynee this morning and hope to see more of her! She is a very upbeat and motivating person!
