I was a charter member of Spark when it first began, but dropped out when life got in the way of me focusing on my health. I came back with a new focus in August 2012 and reached goal in July 2013 after losing 130+ pounds.
I did this by starting the Y with a trial month membership that I got when I donated food to UCAN in 2012. I wanted to strengthen my ancillary muscles around my knee before I had knee surgery for severe arthritis that was making it difficult to walk.
Within 1 week of starting on the stationary bike, the pain was decreased. I kept adding time, classes and workouts over the months until now, a year later, I focus on an hour of cardio/day. my daughter and I like to plat at racquetball occasionally. Notice the play "AT". That was no typo! We just get out there and have fun.
