Theresa, that's a huge victory! And using your inhaler doesn't detract from that....you wouldn't have an inhaler if it wasn't needed.

I'm in the Midwest....central Illinois. We just had quite a heatwave here with heat indexes over 100 so this cool morning is nice.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to workout now or later. Feels like my neck is out again so I'm debating calling the chiropractor. They're usually really good about getting me in right away so, if I call them, I'll have to workout later. I've been lucky and haven't had to go for over a month and I think it's thanks to the stretches I do on a stabilizer ball. But I've had a headache for 4 days, neck is really tight...and I think I just talked myself into calling.

Good morning everyone.
Dawn thank u for thinking of me. I'm feeling great and strong this morning. I took my walk round town and the straight up hill that kicks my butt normally I am getting stronger and taking it on. Still had to use my inhaler to climb it butt I wasn't gasping for air and my legs didn't feel like jello. I'm getting there.
Dawn do u live in the south? I live in West Virginia the Mountain State they call it. But its been getting down in the low 60's here at night but the day is mid 80's.
Rick enjoy ur vacation with ur mother. Hope u get alot of quality time. Don't get lax with ur workouts ur doing so great with them.
Jennifer hope to see u posting more often with us.

A ride around the lake sounds beautiful. Hope you had a good time.

I work in information management (computers. databases, a lot of MS Excel/Access). I'm working up in northern Canada (Fort Mcmurray), in an oil and gas plant that is being built. The construction phase is almost done and then my teams work really starts (energizing the plant) ... so I'm expecting it to get really busy soon. It's only short-term, once it's completed in the next year or so I will be going back to home office. I'm really glad I did it though, learned a lot from this experience.

Going home tomorrow. My mother's visiting from Nova Scotia for the whole 2 weeks that I'm off, so I'm looking forward to it.

Nice day up here today, going to get up from the computer and take a short walk outside. Have a great day! l8r

I'm glad u got to go for the ride even if it was just around the lake. I bet it was nice even so. Yes the morning is beautiful here its cloudy bc its gonna rain later but I got my walk done and no rain and its nice and cool out. There is a beautiful cool wind blowing. Now got to jump in shower and go to the store. Not a fun time. But its gotta be done. Hope u have a wonderful day. Later.

Theresa, I hope you've had a beautiful morning for your walk. Ugh, that dreaded grocery shopping! I only picked up a few things yesterday but at least we can eat for a few days now, lol.

Yes, I went for the motorcycle ride. By the time we were finally able to meet up, it was sunset so we just went for a quick ride around the lake.

Rick I'm glad u joined Dawn and I in the chatting. This team needs more interaction. Its good that people are posting their stats and things but its motivating to know u have some friends on the team that r with u. Its motivating to me. Were a team. So what kind of work do u do Rick? Sounds interesting. U have been doing great with ur workouts.

Today I am walking my son to school and walking my little town then I too have to go grocery shopping. I didn't get my bike ride yesterday feel bummed about that. Hopefully today I'll feel up to it. Well U all get ur exercise in and be healthy.

I agree with the 2 of you, it's good to see some interaction going on this thread.

I just started doing the treadmill during my last shift of working up north. I was doing the stationary bike but started to find I was getting stagnant and it wasn't giving me the workout I was used to, especially in the 30-40 mins I (barely) have available up here. I work 12 hour days, so by the time I get back to camp and eat, sociallize with coworkers and talk with my family it's 8:30 - 9 pm. In order to workout I need to be up by 3:30. I must admit, I'm doing a pretty good job with it especially since I've never been a morning person.

I'm from a fairly small town too, it was under 10,000 while I was growing up anyway. Live in a city of over 1 million now.

Going home in 2 more sleeps. Can't wait. Want to get out on the bike trails.

So far, I really like the treadmill...because I can prop my Kindle on it and read a book while I'm walking, lol. Harder to work the elliptical and still turn pages.

Now your town sounds bigger than that one I grew up in. We didn't have a gas station and only a little mom & pop grocery.

Time to get moving. Going to workout, clean up, go meet a friend for lunch (now that it's clouded up and I can't lounge in the pool) and get some groceries in this house again. Then I have a decision to make later on...Had arranged to go to a friend's house for a massage later BUT just got invited on a "date." Normally, I wouldn't accept a date on such short notice but it's not a real date. Just a guy I've had my eye on for a really long time and he invited me to go for a motorcycle ride tonight. Now I'm torn if I want it to rain or not....if it rains, I don't have to cancel on my prior plans BUT I do love a motorcycle ride and have only gotten to go twice this year. Decisions, decisions...

I have an elliptical and a treadmill I like the treadmill better. For some reason I dont know why but I can't go for a long time on the elliptical. I got play around with it and see if I can loosen the tension up on it. Someday. LOL
I don't know how many people live here. The mayors office sent out a census a few months back but my memory is shot. I don't remember how many people are here. There is no stop light here and we have 1 gas station/convenient store 1 dollar General store and 1 post office and 1 bank that makes up our town. Its quiet and nice. There is one hill I climb its straight up and when I first started walking it I thought I was going to have to crawl up it. I've got asthma with COPD and I realized yesterday if I puff my rescue inhaler before climbing the hill I can do it with no problems. My goal is to climb that hill with no inhaler.

Well, even staying inside all day, I think the heat still got to me...and that's weird because it was hotter while we were in Florida last week. I had a slight headache all day that threw in nausea in the afternoon so I went to bed at 9:30 last might, which is u heard of for me!

Looks like I'm not sore this morning from my workout so I'm going to add a few more reps of each exercise today. I'm hoping it'll only take a few days to get it back. Then I'll work at those numbers for awhile before I add on something else. Thinking about hitting the fitness room at the community center to try out the elliptical so I can decide if I want that or a treadmill. So far, I really like the treadmill!

Your little town sounds like it's the size of the one I grew up in. I think we only had 400 people living there! The town I'm in now is a little bigger (2000 residents) but still a small town.

Good going. Ya it happens to me alot. U have to build up ur stamina again. My body is like that if I miss one day of exercise. Its aggravating but I emoticon . emoticon Dawn I know u can. How did u fare the heat index yesterday? Did u stay in the air conditioning? I would've. The heat/humidity exascerbates my MS so I stay in the air conditioning most of the time. I take my walk around town early in the morning when I walk my son to school before the heat hits. I live in a very small town in WV. Its 1 mile from my door round town and back to my door. So I been walking 1.5 miles I was walking 1.75 miles but I gotta build up my stamina again. Thats from taking last weekend off due to the rain. Well hope u have a Terrific Tuesday.

Not as much of a workout today as I was used to before going on vacation. Just couldn't do as much without it hurting. emoticon Guess I'll just have to build it back up again and be glad that I'm not starting from scratch again. Oh, and I added in one of the exercises I'd seen around the group!

Dawn it might be too hot for the pool with an index of 100+. I wouldn't do it.
I like to have someone to chat with on here. Its what keeps me going. This team used to b like that when I first started it bout 2 yrs ago. We all chatted then the winter hit and it seems like everyone disappeared. I have some faithfuls that have been with me since the beginning and I love them for it. I thought the spring and summer would bring people back but it didn't with most. O well I'm here to stay and my team is open to whomever wants to join us. My co-leader Jennifer and I have started new threads to spark conversation and participation. We'll see what happens. So far it has sparked a few. Well now I'm chatting ur eyes out. Theresa, I'm wondering if it's going to be too hot even for the pool today. Heat index is supposed to be over 100 degrees. :(

And you'll get tired of me quick since I'm a chatty person who tends to ramble. I'm enjoying looking around the team pages and finding new inspiration. I've already looked up a couple things this morning that I saw in the challenge forum and will be adding them to my routine as I go along.

Good morning team. Its a beautiful morning here in WV. I'm on Day 31 of my 10+ fitness minutes streak. I think I'm gonna walk to my mothers to take my nephew back to her for my morning walk. Its a mile. So there and back its 2 miles. That will be a good walk. Plus I can visit with my parents a few mins. Hope everyone has a beautiful Sunday.

Its good that u visit ur mom daily.Ur getting ur exercise in plus spending as much time with her as u can. My parents live a mile dwn the road and I don't see them as often as I should. I could walk it and get the exercise that I desperately need. U know I think I might start doing that. Thanks for the idea. I bet its chilly there with it being in the 50's its hot here.

I've been biking almost everyday to see my Mom...We have been playing cards, and doing alot of visiting about things we have done in the past..mostly good. She is doing fairly well, but I realize that can change so fast..so am very "thankful" and blessed to have this time with her!!
It's a windy and cool morning, only 51 degrees..brr.., but will still try to get a bike ride in!!

Well if Ur talkin bout my MS its still here. I made a terrible mistake by slacking off my daily exercise not only BC I gained 25 lbs back on but also BC my body got very weak from the MS so I'm struggling with exercising everyday to build my strength back up. I'm not gonna slack again, I now know better. So how have u been? Besides being stressed from work n gaining weight again. Don't feel bad bout the weight we gained too. We juxt gotta keep pushing we can do it.

O don't feel bad for starting over I did too. I had lost 30 lbs then ovr the winter gained 25 back so I starting over too.

Hi everyone,

I'm back! Work has gotten so awful over the last two months that I dropped out of everything and just now getting back on track. Of course my weight is up and I haven't done any decent exercise.

I'm just considering myself starting over.

The company I work for went from 175 people to 125 and the entire culture has changed. It's just been a mess, but I've let it impact me too much. I'm glad to see that we'll be doing some BLC type challenges -- I dropped out of BLC25 too.

Anyway, I love you all and I'm back!

Thanks Theresa and Jennifer. The thing is the new school would only be 1/2 mile from where my husband works and where I work when I work. It would mean her school day was a bit longer about 30 mins and the school campus is bigger.

Plus side is the new school has more lunch clubs etc on things that interest her eg drama, book club.

Had a good day today - loads more steps

Hi Jacqueline, so glad to have you back with us. I understand your dilemma, my sister has cerebal palsy so i do understand. Im with theresa i think i would want my child closest to me but i also understand you have to think about what is best in the long term for your child. Hoping things have calmed down for you enough that you can be back with us, we did miss you!! last couple of weeks have been a wee bit fraught for me to coin a phrase from Adia. But hopefully I am now through the worse of it. Alex hasn't been very well and ended up in hospital and it has made sparking, sticking to a healthy diet and exerting difficulty.

I also had a bad time again with the headaches. So I DO KNOW the exercise and diet helps with the headaches for me. So I need to get back on track. Thankfully I haven't put any weight on.

I have to make a decision in the next few weeks about Where to send the kids to high school. My heart is saying one place and my head is saying another!! Head will probably win. The local authority are changing the nearest school from a school that takes school kids from age 3 -16 to 3-14. But it is likely my kids will sit some exams at age 15 so I don't want Adia in particular with her issues regarding her hearing, vision and her cerebral palsy having to adapt to a new school and new teachers just at the point when she is going to be sitting exams. But I am swithering on whether to keep her closer to home for another 2 years because having cerebral palsy means she gets tired easier. So it is difficult. She will get a review at school soon. The school want her to stay ( well they would ) but the specialist vision and hearing teachers are hinting that it maybe better for her to move.


The kids ended up doing their grading for karate last night and they both passed through a double grading. Adia got a distinction again- she has manage it on every belt so far- for focus and eagerness.
Well I really need to go do some cooking and make some bread!! See I am getting back to normal. I managed to go for a run last night which was really good.

I'm so motivated now. I'm really hoping to lose at least 25 lbs by the end of summer. That'll put me at 150 lbs and then I'll only have 10 more to lose over the fall/winter to reach my goal. I did it before I can do it again. I'm working my endurance up slowly. I'm working on doing the 2 mile WATP video till I can move up to the 3 mile, I hope that will be within next week sometime. I started doing a little strength exercises today gotta work up the strength to do what I was doing. Its crazy how taking a few weeks off from exercise my body became so weak. I guess its from the MS and also gaining almost all the weight back on didn't help any. Well chat some more tomorrow. Have a great evening.

It's good that u have been getting ur steps in on days that is at least keeping the weight off of u. Yes u need to make more time for u and ur health. For u and ur family. I am so glad that Adia is fine. When I first started reading it that she didn't come home from school I started to freak out for u. I'm so glad she is ok. Yesterday Adia and A lex had bike ability at school so the had to take their bikes to school. We live about a mile from school. Anyway, I get a call at about 11am to ask me to come get Alex as he is feeling unwell, no problem with that. By about 3:30pm Adia hadn't arrived home from school. So I thought I would go look for her. I drove to the school couldn't see her but noticed her bike was gone. So I retraced my steps. I went so back to the house, by this time it is 3:45 and she still isn't home and I am starting to panic. Then I look out of the window and see her hobbling up the hill. I went out to meet her. She has wet, had one boot on, was carrying another and she was filthy. I was relieved to see her. And asked what had happened. she informed me that she had stopped at the bridge to look at the fish in the water and her bike had toppled into the stream. She had then had " to descent into the 7 realms of hell to recover it". She was most disgruntled because she said she had just missed me drive pass her.

I was so relieved she was okay. She said if I photographed her she was suing me for emotional child abuse. I made her hot chocolate while she had a shower. She said to me this morning can we have takeaway for dinner- she has a hospital appointment at 4:30pm. Because she has had a "very fraught week"

No I haven't gained any weight back but I feel sluggish and icky!!!
I have been walking because of the dog and I frequently hit the 12000 on my fitbit so I think that is good.

Adia hasn't been well just a virus but now Alex has caught it.

I have been trying to do too much and I think I need to make fitness a priority again. For the sake of me and my family.

I have been getting involved in local politics due to the independence referendum so that has been taking up some time. But I need to remember me

I'm feeling better just need to continue my exercise daily slowly build myself bck up. Its good that u recognized that u were neglecting Ur own health. Start out slow n build bck up so u don't burn out again. Half hour a day sounds good. Did u gain any bck on like I did? I gained way too much back on. Well glad to have u bck. Hope you are feeling better Theresa. I feel I have got do caught up in work, family and other stuff that I am starting to let my diet and exercise slip too. I need to get back on track too. But a realistic track of about 1/2 hour per day at present.

I have been very bad about checking and reading emails. I haven't been doing any real exercise. I haven't been watching what I eat or drink. I've just been real lax lately and I hadn't been weighing myself either. I weighed on Friday 178.2 and said whoa thats it. Yesterday I weighed 173.8 and I'm happy to say today I weigh 173.0 so I'm headed in the right direction again. Yipee. I need the interaction with my friends here on the team to keep me motivated. I'm glad to see some coming back. Jan u've been there all along for me and I want to let u know how much that means to me. I luv u for it. Well enough of my feeling sorry for myself and I'm working up the sweat again. I've got to start all over again work myself up to the strenuous exercise I was doing. I've become weak so with the MS its not a good thing. I need to build myself back up. Here we go. Have a great week everyone.

Okay I have been slacking the past few weeks but I need to get my head down and get on with things.

My DS calls the weekend " life skills school". He occasionally moans that we don't allow him to run feral aka play computer games until he gets repetitive strain injury. So this weekend has involved a lot of walking because it was lovely until this morning. So we have been teaching him about birds, rocks, flowers, we could teach him about trees but alas they are probably blown to Norway. Because of the rain, I decided to teach him how to play poker?? See life skills!!!

Dd has been playing music- we go between Etta James and Rammestein. And she has decided today is a No hearing aid day!!!! Rammestein played at high volume- see I am very tolerant.

I need to tighten up on my nutrition a bit and get back to high intensity exercise.

Let's see what we can get done.

Hopefully with having a couple members returning will help us feel like a team again. Where is everyone. Were supposed to b a team to help, support, and motivate each other not to mention being friends also. Come on everyone get up and get the sneakers on and get moving. Also move the little fingers and come and join us and share ur accomplishments and frustrations with us. Were here for u. I miss the interaction with everyone. Come and join us at least once a week to check in.

Hmmm...I think Spring is a tough time of the year. It is for me. I really like Jacqueline's suggestions. I'm going to post a few thoughts on your thread later. Thinking maybe about a team thing, where we set up a couple of teams and the one with the most combined fitness minutes wins.
