My name is Deb and I started my weight loss journey almost 4 years ago by having gastric bypass. I went from 300 pounds to 163 pounds. I have since gained a bit of that back and am working on losing those pounds in a healthy and permanent way. I am not dieting, I am changing my nutritional habits.
I love to cook and am a self proclaimed foodie. I love to prepare healthy, beautiful meals with interesting ingredients that please the eyes, nose and the mouth as well as nourishing my body and soul.
I am so happy to have been introduced to SparkPeople and have already found myself thinking more about the consequences of reaching for that snack out of boredom or emotions. Just knowing that I have to put it on my nutrition log really has made me think.
I am 55 years old, a wife, mother, grandmother and nurse practitioner. I love to read cook books and cooking magazines and hope to open my own catering business once I retire from my present job.
