I have a new flash now . . . but I'm not sure I like it. It's an off-brand and it's almost too much flash for me. I think I've had it too long to return it. Sigh. That's my problem . . . it takes me forever to make decisions about things.
I'm sorry to hear about your flash! Hopefully you can get a new one soon. I'm glad your camera survived though.
and you're welcome. I could talk about it all day as well. I was joining some of the other photography teams, but the all seemed so cluttered and inactive, so I decided it would be a good idea to create one my way. :]

I am also a photography addict. Growing up my dad was a photojournalist, so I was surrounded by photos of almost everything, but particularly flowers and architecture. I lived overseas after high school and started taking photos in my own right.
A few years ago I bought my first dSLR, and the addiction took off. I took several courses through the local college so that I could use my camera more effectively. Given my love for dogs, the whole pet photography thing was a very natural fit. I've done a few shoots now and enjoyed them, but I really prefer photographing pets I know personally. It allows me to put my own spin on the photos and to make them more interesting. I also do candid ringside photography at dog shows, and have done well with that. I love looking at the world through my camera!
This year my photography has been slower than most years, due to a very long, cold winter and the death of my external flash unit. The dogs knocked my camera off a coffee table, and the only victim was my 430EX Canon flash. Sigh. Now that the weather is nice I'm outside more and shooting more.
Thanks for creating this group . . . I could talk photography all day long, so it's nice to have a dedicated place to do so!
My name is Caitlyn and I am a photography addict. Just kidding...well not really. I love photography and my dream is to open a portrait studio. I want my work to focus on senior and family portraits. Right now, I'm in college working towards that shiny degree that will tell everyone that I've had decent training and what not.
I created this SparkTeam as a way to get myself to remember to log onto SparkPeople everyday. Having a responsibility to other people on the site will encourage me to actually stick with my own goals!
Within this team, I plan on creating weekly assignments that will get you out and taking pictures. Maybe you will even be encouraged to take a walk that you can add to your fitness minutes for the day! My ultimate goal for this team is for it to become a support group, almost like a family. I want the members to be able to turn to the team when they need motivation or just to talk about their struggles because people within the team are probably going through the same things.
