Hello there and to Spark People and to our team!
What I love on Spark People is that the support is unlimited! You need motivation, read up on the success stories and/or post a query and someone will be there to help you along. It is always difficult to start something new but Spark People make it so easy for us all to achieve our ultimate goals. Take it step by step: a) study the site, b) incorporate good habits from the beginning, c) start exercising, etc.
On Spark People, they encourage a lifelong lifestyle change. It is important to continue tracking your food and exercise even though you may have reached your ultimate goal. They call this maintenance. There are tons of articles on this site that will help you stay on track.
Good luck on your journey and if you need help at any point, just drop a line and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi, everyone. I joined the site in July 2013, but have finally decided to start tracking on a regular basis. In my 40s, married with two kids, female, 5'3", started 2013 at around 165 pounds and had just started taking a martial arts class once a week. Ten months later, am doing martial arts three days a week, yoga twice a week, and additional core/conditioning/fitness training five days a week. I plateaued at about 122 pounds a five weeks ago, and am ready to kick it to the next level, lose another 7-10 pounds, and really work on stretching/flexibility. I am hoping that tracking the stretches I grumble about will keep me motivated to build those into my daily routine until I start loving them as much as I have grown to love lunges and pushups.
