Welcome Marietta!!! I am Joyce from NE Ohio. You'll find some amazing friendships and support on this team! Come to the Daily Chit Chat thread and get acquainted with the gals. There's a core group if "regulars" who chat daily.

I retired after 30 years as an Adm. Asst. for a school superintendent and like you, wanted to get my retirement years off to a good start. I have two daughters, two stepsons, sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren that I want to be around to see grow up! I've lost 40 pounds since joining Spark, there are so many good tools on this site!!

emoticon I am Marietta, I live in the middle of Nebraska.. married have children and great grand children. Retired RN, live in the country, Struggled with weight my entire life. Now retired want to get myself feeling better both inside and out. Being home all the time I miss being around people... so I hope I can meet some wonderful people here and I can encourage them and they me... with this new life.

If you go to your start page and fill in the info on your current weight, goal weight, etc. your food tracker will show your range on all those items and more!

Thank you for the welcome. I am finding Sparkpeople helpful. I am from the Boston area and do love to have fun and enjoy each day.
I have a question for the group. Does anyone know about how many calories, gms of protein and gms of carbs I should aim for to lose weight?

I am going to post the name of this article as a start. However, I do not know how to make it a link. Can one of the team members help with this?

Finding & Using SparkPeople's Tools: Calorie Counter, Recipes, Weigh-In (I found this article that gives several sites for a newcomer to find all these tools. Can you help with this?
