Hi, my name is Vicki and I have about 10 lbs to get off which I have not had discipline to do. Not sure why but I just received the email about joining this 60-day challenge that looks like started in March. Looks like I am a little late but better late than never. Hoping this team will keep me encouraged to get these few last pounds off.

I have been watching what I eat for about 2 months now. I thought this team would be a good way to keep working on my goals. I have recently had some surgery, which has impacted my exercise time, but I am still trying to eat healthy. emoticon

Hello everyone...I'm Trisha and I'm a 60 yr. old grandmother of 4. I am only 10 lbs. away from my goal and decided this challenge may be what I need to reach my goal weight. I have more important goals like being able to run my first 5k in July and having more energy to play with my grandchildren when I visit them or they come see me. They always make me look bad on the Wee Fit games we play. I have been closely tracking my nutrients and trying to eat foods that keep my nutrients within the recommended ranges. My two biggest struggles are I don't get enough water every day (I find 6 is my average and I am working on consistently drinking 8) and I sprained a tendon on the bottom of my foot so I haven't been able to go walking every day like I was last month. I'm hoping once the weather warms up here (we are still having snow falling) I will once again go back outside walking and with warmer weather I will drink more water on my walks. I'm always looking for a buddy who is interested in common goals and would like to have someone to check in with.

To me HEALTH means Energy. Stamina. Flexibilty. A relatively pain free body. Enjoying healthy food. You are your body, and your weight loss efforts will succeed exactly to the extent that you mange to do the work on behalf of your embodied self. You’ll do much better when you focus on making positive changes to improve your health and well-being, rather than on fighting your bad habits.

Hi, I am new to the team. I am doing a challenge at the gym that I go to and need a little extra challenge to keep me going. I thought about doing the 28 day challenge 3 time, but thought I would do this first. I am already going to the gym 4 days a week and working out elsewhere 2 times a week. The 60 day fitness/health challenge will encourage me to workout on those days when I just want to go home. The health component will remind me to make health choices.

Each day is a new day!

Hi I'm Sarah Lynne! I'm a mom of 4 who's dedicated to getting fit for real and for the first time in my life. My hope is to see my goal size by my 10 year anniversary next March. I currently have a gorgeous red gown sitting in my closet that I wish to wear for our anniversary. It is a size 10. I'm currently on the loose end of a 20 but not quite in a solid 18 yet. Can't wait for the challenge to start and help keep me motivated to find that healthier me!

Hi, I'm thrilled to join this team because it overlaps with the 10 minute challenge to exercise at least 5 days a week that I'm currently doing. I wasn't sure what to do next, but this new challenge will work out perfectly. This is an excellent way to continue my weight loss journey.

Looking forward to getting closer to reaching my goal weight with challenge.

Hi! I'm Leslie. I've been obese for almost my entire life and have weighed as much as 272. I'm going to be 66 in May and would like to weigh 166 on my birthday. In the last six months, I've gotten really serious about exercising and am amazed at how much it has made a difference in my weight loss efforts. For those who need some motivation, I have found that regular exercise has vastly improved my outlook on life.

Hello

My name is Rita and I live in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. I'm a very proud grandmother of 3 girls and am told that as I grandmother that I'm now entitled to bragging rights.

I retired in May of this year and am loving every minute. I've struggled with weight all of my life and don't have much willpower left. I'm hoping I can motivate myself to go through with this challenge as I'm battling high blood pressure and have type 2 diabetes.

Could someone please explain to me how the points work.

Thank you

Hello, my name is Dana. I live in Savannah,Ga. I am very active. I run 12 to18 miles a week. I also do very good with my diet through the week. On the weekends I like to watch football and other sports with my family. Sometimes that leads to a cheat meal emoticon . Getting back on track now.

Hi,
I'm Becky and I live in beautiful (flood-recovering) Boulder, Colorado. I do aerobic exercise at least five days a week, so getting in walks on top of that has just not been happening for me. Today I did a one-hour weights & balance class and a one-hour aerobic dance class; and since I am just five weeks from my reconstruction surgery for breast cancer, that's all I could manage. I drink the water, plus. I've been good about getting in the fruits and veggies. We are supposed to have rain again tomorrow, and perhaps a bit of snow - and on Friday I do essentrics (a combination of stretching and strength) and Zumba, so wouldn't walk, anyway. However, Saturday, after the Florida State football game, I promise to walk! I'm sorry I don't feel too bad about it since I am getting in plenty of exercise!

Hi, My name is Shirley and I'm loving this challenge already. I'm single, retired, living with my sister since her very serious illness 4 years ago. I still have some indoor and outdoor projects to finish before winter, but I'm working in those beautiful fall walks. Best wishes to all.

Weekends can be sooo hard, but you will find that the more you track, feel success and strength, the stronger your resolve becomes. Saturdays were my challenge because they are my rest day and usually the day we eat out or with friends. When I make it my personal challenge to not let it beat me, I have such success. Making it a game in my mind helps. I also stay proactive by researching healthy options to eating out, eating lots of bulky vegetables beforehand, concentrating on the conversation and company more than the food and drinking lots of water! Finding fun activities that keep you busy and moving are good too. YOU CAN DO THIS, I PROMISE!

Baby steps turn to leaps and bounds! "Just today" turns into a lifetime of improved health and fitness. It turned this body from a size 18+ to a size 4-6! Maintaining my new life, habits and body.

Details for October will be sent out to the team at the end of next week. I want to do more planning for the challenges and be more creative, so that is why there is a slight wait. So, be on the lookout sometime around September 27th!!

Hi Team! I've been a member of this team for a while now and I've tracked the team goals, but I've never introduced myself. My name's Victory and I have about 30lb to lose. I'm hoping to jump in and participate more in this team. The challenges you have going here seem like an awesome way to stay on track and accountable. Have a great week 3 all! emoticon

I am trying to get myself back in shape and to feel better. I have 25 pounds to lose for my first goal, then might try for another 5. I am going to try and burn 2500 calories a week. I can it. It will mean more walking and lots of gardening, but I want to be doing that. I am trying to start a small business of selling plants, establishing butterfly gardens, so I need to be in shape.

I have 85-100 lbs to lose. It's a difficult task but not impossible. I'm focusing on making lots of small changes as those will add up to big results.

Hello! I am 41, started gaining weight in my twenties by eating out almost every meal, plus alcohol, etc. I gained 5 lbs/year...didn't seem like much when I started at 118...wake up call was when I weighed 167 but I didn't worry...then I went to the Middle East as a Peacekeeper and weighed in at 186...I was so embarrassed and that's when I first started trying to lose weight...I ran twice a day for three months, went from size 22 to size 13...stepped on the scale...still 186! Deflated but at the same time empowered! However, 15 years later still in same boat...I exercise for 3 months look great scale doesn't change and I get disappointed and stop (I get a cold so stop exercising....or I decide a few days of sleeping in will do me good...etc). This group showed up in my emails so I'm taking it as a sign I'm meant to be here! My personal goal is to not stop exercising after three months...I've been at it for 4 weeks...I have 60 days left u til I reach my personal dilemma spot and I hope that this team will help me overcome it! I eat healthy 90% of the time but am negligent in my water intake...woo hoo!

Just discovered this team. I will be starting the challenge tomorrow. I'm looking forward to starting, working and finishing a 60 day challenge.

I go on vacation at the end of May, but the hotel has a gym...and I'll be walking a lot...so I can maintain my program.

Hi there - I saw a link for this group on the Sleep Challenge page. I'm going to complete the Sleep Challenge first (I'm only on Week 1) and then this 60 Day challenge will be my next focus. I just wanted to bookmark the Team page before I forgot.

I'm eating pretty well now and exercising more. My focus on the 60 Day Challenge will be to really eat clean - ditching the sugars and caffeines and such. I think the idea of really nourishing my body over the summer sounds totally appealing - who knows - maybe I'll just carry on afterwards :-)

So a quick wave 'hello' for now - and I'll be back in a couple of weeks.

Maria

♥ღ♥ღ♥ღ I'm finally getting to know my body and giving it what it needs – everything is looking and feeling so much better and I love it ღ♥ღ♥ღ♥

Hi everyone,

My name is Cassie. My main hurdle in completing this challenge will be motivation. I sometimes lose motivation when I am tired as the week progresses. I will make sure to plan on getting more sleep by setting a bedtime of 10:00. This will give me the energy to keep going!

I'm Marilyn and 57 years old. Although I walk everyday, I'd like to get back to also biking 3 times a week and strength training 3 times a week. I'm also working on better sleeping and eating habits. I know that getting better with all those things will help me to get back to a healthier weight.

Hey SP! I'm 27 mother of 2 near Chicago, IL. I joined a couple of bets that I could lose 4%+ my body weight in 28 days starting April 1. April 1st I was 220lbs, and today (15 days in) I'm 206lbs. I'm doing a slow carb diet and really feel very energized! I need some people to share my journey with! :)

My name is Nancy; I just today received a link to this team in an email and it looks like it could be helpful. I'm 61 and want to be strong and healthy at 100! But in order to do that, I need to change some habits such as eating more healthfully and getting more exercise. I struggle on my own, so decided to give SP a try for support & accountability.

- Nancy -

Today I eat less, move more, and make healthier choices.

Hello! My name is Christine, and I've actually been looking for a challenge for the past week or so, and finally stumbled upon this one! (Not sure why it didn't show up when I searched earlier!). My motivation right now is a vacation that my husband and I are going on - it will be my day 47 on the challenge that we leave! This is a "honeymoon" that we are finally taking after being married for 5.5 years. My first goal is to get back to my wedding-day weight of 144, but I would eventually like to see 130-something. I am also focusing on getting stronger, because we are going to be hitting up some National Parks and going on lots of hikes/bike rides/etc. We are also trying to conceive, so I want to prepare for a healthy pregnancy!

Hello My name is Monica. This challenge seemed perfect for starting my weight loss journey again. My metabolism is no longer what it used to be. I need to change my eating habits. I eat far more calories than I need. Sticking to a meal plan is very hard for me. I have gotten better at exercising on a more regular basis. 5 times a week instead of 3. But I am not seeing a difference on the scale.

Hi everyone! My name is Keisha and I found this challenge through the SP GA forum. I joined SP in 2011 and have never been an active member of the site until now. Why now you ask? I am in dire need of a change and the steps I have taken to lose and keep the weight off in the past have not worked. So, I decided to try something different and hold myself accountable by actively posting and updating on here. Plus, I need a support system which is something I have not had in my past weight loss attempts. I am really looking forward to this challenge. I hope to not only have lost at least 15 lbs at the end of the 60 days, but to have also gotten stronger mentally and physically.

Slow and steady wins the race...taking my time this go round

Hi my name is MsFavred (Mareya) found this team by accident. But I guess I was looking for another challenge to keep me on my toes. I had fallen off the wagon for the last 2 weeks but I need that motivation to keep going until I reach my goal.
Well I am a single mom of a teenage girl and getting back into the fitness and attempting to set a good example for her. Don't want her to be stuck in my bad habits. looking forward to the next few weeks. emoticon

Hi, all - I'm BJ and have been on SP since January 1st. It's really been a great help. Only lost a few pounds but feel much more fit and am eating healthy foods. I love the motivation and support I get from SP. So glad to be part of this team. Now I hope to use this challenge to increase my exercise and, hopefully, lose a few more pounds while I'm at it.

Hello Everyone! So happy to be a part of this team! It looks inspiring and I've learned in the past that being part of a challenge can be very helpful. I like checking in and seeing what's happening and tracking goals sure helps. Also having the 60 day time frame is great!

Hi I joined SP last year. I had been on another plan and did pretty well, but i'm an emotional "stress" eater and due to a lose of a job (that was unexpected) I regained my 50ish pounds back. But as I heard from others restarted strong this year. Eating, counting calories and staying on plane has been going well, but sometimes getting more exercise in other then some walking isn't happening. And not getting down on myself and falling back into the same old bad habits, but so far so good emoticon Sorry for going on but happy to be here!

Hi, my name is Diana.
Although I've been on SparkPeople for over a year now, the stone I did lose went back on following a bad bout of illness. Things are moving forward again and I now want to really push on towards my goal.
Looking forward to doing this with you all.

Hi, my name is Lacey and I am in desperate need of some accountability. I started this year strong by exercising at least four days a week but as school has gotten busier I have lost my motivation. My weight tends to fluctuate within a ten pounds range and I'd really like to maintain my lower weight (and fit all of my clothes). My long term goal is to lose these last 10-15 pounds before my graduation in May which is about 60 days away.

I do pretty well with eating right and drinking lots of water. I struggle with skimping out on veggies sometimes. I also find it so easy to drive right past the gym on my way home from class. I have a roommate that is always at home in the evenings so I can't work out much at home. I am excited to join a group that is active and motivated!

Hi, I am Jasmine, just join the team, looking forward to completing all my weight loss goals and can not wait to see myself at 250 pounds. Yes I know that is still on the hefty side, but when you haven't seen yourself that small in a while it makes you look forward to reaching that short term goal and to keep it moving.

Hello team, I am Pamela. I joined this team and goals because I need a new push. I lost 20 lbs in 5 months at the beginning of my journey then spent 4+ months in maintenance mode. I see my goal in sight and know I just need a little push to get there. Best wishes to all on our 60 day journey

I really love my SP friends and man have they pulled me through some very rough times this year!!

Look forward to our working together!
