Hello everybody. My name is Becky and I was invited by Mia-Morsel to join this team. I have been active on SP since August of 2012 the same time I retired from my job. I am now 56 and have lost 35 pounds but have recently gained 10 pounds back. And I do not plan on gaining anymore. I am excited to be active on this team and to get back to losing weight.

Hi all. I appreciate the invite to this team. :o) My name is Ashley and I am a single mom of 3 (1 child has special needs). For many years now I've only focused on them and their health, but now that I've lost my job I suddenly have time to think about myself again. It's good to be here and I look forward to connecting with you. :o)

Hi I'm Ange, 21 years old, and I'm happy to be joining this team. I only joined Sparkpeople a few months ago, so this is the first team I'm joining. I've been overweight all of my life and have finally gotten tired of it. I've still got a ways to go, but I'm happy with the progress so far. I live in Japan, and am a Junior in university. I believe that God led me here to start a new phase of life!

Time4Dee, I am positive you can do this, and you deserve to take care of yourself. I know as a single mom, your job as breadwinner and caregiver come first and we have it backwards, because if we don't take care of our selves, then we are unable to take care of others. We must take care of our own health first and foremost....trust me, I didn't follow this and almost died, who would that have left to raise my children....thankfully, God stepped in and took over, and now I am working on me first. Hang in there, you can do it! I look forward to getting to know you better, as well.

HI! I'm Dee and I appreciate the invite to join this team!
I'm 55, married and have 2 grown children and 4 grandkids. I work in a hospital at a desk job everyday but I've managed to fit in exercising throughout the day. I spent almost 9 years in a big truck before hubby became disabled due to health problems. I'm the sole breadwinner and I feel overwhelmed with stress at times. I need to focus on my health to stay healthy and reduce stress. I have uncontrolled high BP I am determined to get under control by diet and exercise. Meds only as a last resort.
:ooling forward to getting to know my teammmates and be accountable.

Hello, Thank you for the invite, I am Janet. I am 45 and I have 2 amazing boys. I have been on the yo-yo plan since my 19 yr. old was born. After some eye openers given to me by God, I finally got a big swift kick in the pants a little over a year ago and 'got the picture". I had lost quite a bit of weight, but I still was not taking things seriously. So a long story short I have now lost 109 lbs. in the last 2 1/2 years. I still need to lose from 45-60 lbs. to get to my healthy weight. I tend to quit at the last minute (I think in fear of success) and that is why I found SP, to keep me going to finish to the end, and to help others along the way. I look forward to creating new friends, and the time I am sure I will spend with all of you will be great.

Hi I'm Sue and have been riding the weight roller coaster all my life. I am 49 and will turn 50 in July. It is my goal to be at a healthy weight by that time. My Dr said that 150 would be fine even though I only stand 5'3". Looking for someone I can rant with and support as well as have their support when things run a muck. My passion is horses, I just can't get enough.

Thanks for the invite. I'm Beth I'm 49, I live in Pa, am a grandma to 4 + one on the way. I have over a hundred pounds to lose, I want to be around to see my grandbabies grow up. I've been using the WII for the last 6 days and the scale is finally moving in the right direction. I'm a master crochet and a knitter, and teach both out of my home. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Happy Thanksgiving to those that celebrate it.

Hi everyone. My name is Amber and I'm 23. I just graduated with my bachelors degree in May and I plan on starting my masters degree in the next year. I have been overweight since childhood and have lost weight several times before, only to gain it back little by little. My greatest success was losing 80 pounds when I was 16 but I gained it back all back plus some in college. I have lost 40 pounds by using SP and I plan on losing about 90 more.
I live with my boyfriend and our ferret, Lola. He does most of the cooking since I am not strong in that area, but that can provide some challenges. I cant wait to meet some other members through the team. Ive been active on SP for quite a while but I've been hesitant to post and interact with my teams. I think that is an important aspect that I have been missing!

Hi all! I'm Joy and I'm a married mother of two children. I balance my time between homeschooling my kids and working towards my Bachelor's degree, and in the meantime, I have like zero motivation to get fit. I really want to though, so hopefully I can find a partner who will shame me into actually sticking to my workout routine :)
Best luck to everyone here!

Jen, Ricky is 9 years old. We got him when he was 3. We have two other dachshunds: Abigail, 11, is black and tanned long-haired and Nutter Butter (aka Peanut), 2, tanned. Abigail is quite the couch potato and Peanut gets into everything. Peanut is a rescue from a New England rescue place. She is such a sweetheart and for some time had trust issues. Abigail, when we first got her 6 years ago (she came with Ricky), didn't go to the bathroom for a week until Ricky showed up. I swear, she didn't. She stayed under a bench we had in the front hall. It was cute but nerve-racking. LOL!!! I love these guys!!!!

Hey, I'm Jen. I am 35 years old and live in Missouri. I just joined Sparkpeople about 5 days ago and I am really excited to be here! I have already lost 42 lbs three years ago and have maintained at 185 for three years. I have about 50 more pounds to lose, and I plan to do that this year.
My strategy is baby steps. I have my eating down cold---and can eat within my calorie range and incorporate veggies and fruits with no problem. I am currently working on developing a fitness routine. (I always start gung-ho, walking three miles a day, doing a high intensity workout video, lifting weights...and then I get really sore and fail.) This time I am starting with the recommended 10 minutes a day. My husband and I were doing couch25k last year and I would like to continue running/jogging.
A little bit about me- I love to knit, listen to podcasts, and read romance. I have two dogs-- a pug/poodle mix and a mini piebald dachshund. I also have a guinea pig. I have been married for 11 years, no kids. I live in Missouri.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!

My name is Cat. I just turned 35 at the end of Oct. But my big wake up call came to me earlier in the month when I lost a close friend to complications of diabetes, congestive heart failure, and being too heavy. (Her body could not let her breathe on her own because of her weight.) I don't want this to be me in 30 years.
I have Type 1 diabetes (poorly controlled), many other medical conditions that would take forever to list (also mostly poorly controlled), and I have extremely bad knees and back (but can wear braces on my knees and can usually push through the back pain).
I need to lose 100+ pounds. My plan is to lose weight in small increments (about 25 to 30 pounds) at a time. I would love to have a partner to push me and keep me motivated. My only real sources of exercises are a treadmill and walking around my condo complex.
Please SparkMail me or Friend Request me if interested. Would love to make friends and lose this weight!!!

Hi! I'm Delana, I'm 33 years old and I have an almost 16 month old daughter. I've struggled with my weight for most of my life, mainly because I get lazy and I have a terrible lifestyle. I ate whatever I wanted and never put 100% into exercise. I use to play roller derby and I'd like to get back into that someday. I'd also like to participate in the Dirty Girl Run 2014, I was too worried about being out of shape this year. My main goal is to be healthy for my daughter. I want her to have good eating habits and want to exercise/be healthy.

Hi, My name is Lisa and I'm 40 years old. I've struggled with my weight since my early 20's and I'm really motivated at the moment. Started doing the couch to 5k jogging programme this week - 1st time in my life I've tried running and I'm really enjoying it! Taking it day by day as I know how easy it is for me to lose that motivation and interest. Thanks for the invite to the group .

Hello. Im Chrys. 34 as of two days ago. I am trying to lose at least 200 pounds to be healthier and to take weight of the leg that was broken back in may. Have a titanium rod now, but the rod can only do so much. I suffer from fibromyalgia and bi-polar and a few random other things. I am on nutrisystem but it doesn't work well when you eat all the deserts before the month is up. Anyway thanks for the invite, hope to see you all around more.

Hi, my name is Kelly, I am 37 years old and I have been struggling with my weight my entire life. I have about 100 pounds to lose. I have Chiari, which is a genetic disease/condition in where my brain is too large for my skull and I have had 3 brain surgeries in the past 7 years. With the surgeries, I have not been able to exercise they way that I needed in order to lose weight. I still have days that I am physically down, not able to do much other than sit on the couch and try to get rid of the pain. I found Sparkpeople to be very helpful in the past. I am hoping to find a partner that will help to keep me accountable and help to keep me motivated so we can lose the weight and help each other get healthy.

Hi everyone! I am 28 and from MN and have been working to lose the rest of my baby weight (about 30 lbs) for over a year now. Not having that much luck. I used to belong to WW and miss the camaraderie of having people to talk to and hold me accountable for my actions! I have lost 40+ lbs before, but don't have the same tools (gym, time) as I did back then! I am signed up to run a 10k in January to help with motivation! Looking for others going through the same thing as me!

Hi Everyone, WV girl here. I have lost over 100 lbs. 4 times in my life only to regain it plus more. A friend told me about this site and I know this time I can do it and keep it off. The 4 previous times I tried to go it alone, but Spark people made me realize that I needed support from other people who have the same struggles I have or they have had them and over came them. Thanks in advance for giving me that support.

Hi I'm Joanne,
I have been part of Spark People for about a month now. My goals for being part of Spark People is to have a community to encourage me to get toward better health and reach my weight goals. For me, the health is more of an issue. I have a lot of different health issues. My weight right now is about 5-10 LBS away from what I want it to be. However, if I could get motivated to exercise regularly, I think the health issues might improve as well. Right now, it is hard to find time for exercise other than physical therapy. I go to PT 3 times a week for about 1 1/2 hour each time. It is to gain strength in my foot that was fractured. I have two more weeks to go with it.

Hello! I'm Donna and I recently turned a young 58! I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 40 years and we have 3 well-turned out adult children. They have given us a total of 7 grandchildren, aged 18 months to 10 years. Two years ago I retired from teaching after 25 years to join my husband who had been retired from the postal service for 5 years already! I spend my time reading, walking, going to the gym, attending mass, listening to music, trying to garden, and trying to stay in touch with family members. My husband and I love to fish and travel, but we can't do much of either now because he is taking care of his father who suffered a massive stroke back in the spring. I have high blood pressure and cholesterol, and my goal is to get fit and lose enough weight to go off my meds. I'm almost there with the blood pressure meds now that I'm no longer teaching (relief of major stress) and exercising again as a result. Isn't life grand?

Welcome to the team Terri. You are worgh it so you'll have to set aside atleast 30mins a day for you to exercise. Try making your meals before you go to bed or first thing on mornings. You ca do it!
Hello..my name is Terri....I've got a set goal to loose 50 lbs...my schedule is kind of hectic (not making excuses) I work 2 jobs...school bus driver and pharmacy technician and a household that is a never ending story...I'm steadily on the go, eating is a challenge, and exercise well, I'm either driving or standing for long periods, the in between I'm trying to do housework and all that comes with that..still trying to figure out to juggle track foods, exercise, and participating in my groups. Well, that's the basics about me for now.

I'm very happy to have been invited to participate in this forum. I'm a 47 y/o wife & mom who has had an unhealthy relationship with food since childhood. I was a chubby child/teen, slender and active in my 20's and early 30's and began rapidly putting on weight from my late 30's up to now. I'm devoted to healthy eating and exercise. I have 40 lbs left to lose. Can't wait to team up and hear about all of you.

Hi everyone- My name is Dana. I am a 43 year old wife, mother, and nurse from Massachusetts. I have struggled with my weight for most of my adult life, but it has gotten worse in the past 5 years. I lost my dad 5 years ago to cancer and my mom a little over a year ago to pulmonary disease. I've been doing a lot of emotional eating, and it has gotten to the point where I weigh what I did when I was 9 months pregnant 13 years ago. I know that it is time to focus on me, and I'm looking for people who will support me and who I can support along this journey.

Hello! My name is Amy, I received an invitation from Mia-Morsel to come join the team. I am married and have 3 children, and I work as well. I have been sparking for about a month. In that time I have studied the site, am reading The Spark Solution, and have learned a lot and am pretty motivated to feel better physically as well as feeling better about myself.
I am looking forward to sparking with all of you! We can, and will, do it!

Hello! I'm Jen, 28, living in Michigan. Been overweight since my teens. Been on Weight Watchers and lost 50 pounds, however they changed the program, and it messed me up. Decided to try it on my own, but gained the 50 pounds back, and then some.
I work full time, during the midnight shift at a fast food place. On top of that I am back in school, so I can get out of the fast food industry. I'm a carb-a-holic. Work doesn't help with food choices. I know I need to bring my own food it, but the free food can be so tempting.
Looking forward to trying sparkpeople whole heartily this time. Tried it before, and didn't put in the effort i know it needed.

Hello, I'm Charlene, living in North Carolina. I am a retired school teacher. I have had several health issues over the years. Both of my knees were injured and very painful for about 10 years. In the beginning the orthopedists said I was too young for knee replacement. So I lived on pain meds and restricted my activities. Ok, so that meant spending a lot of time doing nothing and being bored, so what did I do? I ate and ate and ate; and gained weight. Shortly after having my surgery I thought life was heading in the right direction just to get diagnosed with RA. Well, I have reached my breaking point on being fat and unhealthy and a recent doctor's visit made we realize I really have to get my act in gear. I joined SparkPeople the next day. It hasn't been quite a month yet and I've lost 12 pounds, so pretty proud right now. I have been watching lots of the exercise videos on here and trying some of the seated ones. I know I would get more benefit from fully engaged exercise but I'm taking baby steps and trying very hard not to injure myself and have a reason to give up. Any exercise I do today is more than I did before, so that is where it's at for me.

I'm new to the team, and decided to join because I received an invite from MRSTWIGGY. So I'm happy to be here!
A little about me...well I'm 30 years old, engaged to a wonderful man who unfortunately has to be away from home for a while, and I'm overweight. I have decided to stop with my poor habits and take better control of my health. I am one of those Americans who has been without healthcare for many years because I couldn't afford it. With the laws changing now, I may be able to afford it soon which means I'll be visiting a doctor for the first time in many, many years. For most of this time I've been terrified of what going to the doctor would be like because of my poor habits. I have been afraid that I'd be diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol and wouldn't have the money to afford the medications etc. I'd need. So instead of taking my father and sister up on their offer to pay for my doctor visits, I've simply avoided it altogether. Not a good thing.
Now though, I'm on a mission. I am young enough to turn things around if I put my mind to it, o that's what I've decided to do. I am not going to fear going to the doctor anymore. I have begun to change my eating habits and have begun working out. My goal is to get my health in decent shape on my own, before I go to the doctor, so that I won't have to worry so much about being diagnosed with chronic illnesses or being placed on lots of medications. I want to be proud when I go to the doctor, so regaining my health is what I'm doing to reach that goal.
Looking forward to being a part of the team, meeting everyone and receiving a partner!
My name is Donna, I am newly divorced and a 32 year old single mom. I have always struggled with my weight and after my last daughter was born 6 years ago I was at an all time high of 340 lbs. It took me years to get down to 240, then I got stuck and gave up for a while. I am now below that mark at 233, however it is still a constant struggle for me. Its a constant struggle not to slip back into my old ways and not exercise and eat out all the time. The only thing that keeps me on track anymore is my kids. I want to be healthy for them and I want to be able to enjoy my life again.....

Hello my username is OkieSccy... I just turned 25 and I am a brand new single woman (just found out my divorce was finalized today!) I have struggled with my weight since I was about 15 years old... I started gaining a little weight here and there...and then with a series of unfortunate events, I ballooned up to 200 lbs. Shortly after getting married, I started gaining more weight due to the bad eating habits of being a newly wed... I continued to grow until I stepped on the scale one morning and realized that I weighed 250 lbs. YIKES! Talk about a slap in the face.... After my husband kicked me out of my house... I realized that I had to do something about my weight... I wanted to make myself healthier, so that I could live longer and grow to be a beautiful, sexy woman that I had always dreamed of becoming... well there is no time like the present right? I am now in the process of moving, changing my name, starting a new job as a substitute teacher and figuring out this whole... "who am I?" game... I really struggle with my weight and have fought with bulimia on several occasions in my life... I am trying to change my relationship with food...instead of just "dieting"... I will succeed this time and I know that with a partner, I will achieve more than I ever thought possible. I am ideally looking for someone who will be willing to kick my butt if I need it, do daily/weekly weigh-ins and keep each other motivated to do the right thing... it takes baby steps to get to where we need to be... and I am looking for someone to take those steps with me. I am looking to lose about 75 lbs...

Hello, my name is Breanna. I'm 20 years old and live in Las Vegas, NV. I've struggled with my weight my entire life. I have always been overweight and at one time in my life I was obese. Weighing 211 lbs, I joined Sparkteens when I was 16 and lost 30 lbs. Unfortunately, I developed EDNOS (eating disorder not other specified) with tendencies of anorexia, bulimia, and BED (binge eating disorder) shortly after losing my initial 30 lbs with Sparkteens. I've struggled with this disorder for four years now, losing an additional 20 lbs due to my eating disorder. I'm now 160.2 lbs and attempting to recover from my eating disorder in hopes of living a normal, healthy life. (:

Hello, my name is Keisha. I am 30 years old, married, and mom of 6 sweet little blessings! I am on my way to a healthier lifestyle. I weigh 245lbs and I am 5' 6''. This isn't my first run here on spark people, but the first I have looked at this as being a life journey instead of diet. I am also NOT a slave to the scale, in fact I don't own one. I plan on measuring my changes through other means w/ a dash of the scale when I visit the gym occasionally. I exercise mainly at home to DVDs such as Cathe Friedrich, Leslie, and Chris Freytag, to name a few.

Hello, my name is Annamarie, I am a 44 year old, single mother of three (21, 18, 16). My children are both the light of my life and the cause of my stresses. I live in central Michigan and work at a bank close to home. I am not new to Sparkpeople but new to this team. I have been a yo-yo dieter since my early 20s and feel I am finally making progress this time because I see this as a lifestyle choice and not a "diet".

Hi, my name is Susan, I'm 38, divorced as of a year ago. I'm a nursing student, a Christian, and I have 5 children ages 4-18. I'm very close to reaching my goal weight. I just started back on spark people 3 days ago to lose these last 10-15 lbs. As of 3 days ago I weigh 140. I have already lost 42 lbs. and have managed to keep it off for over a year now. I just got a little too comfortable with my new size for way too long. I'm ready now to continue with the weight loss and to really firm up! P.S. I LOVE SPARK PEOPLE!!!

I just hit 30 this past summer and am wanting to lose close to 40lbs. I started Spark People at 195 and am now 189. A few years ago I was what you would call a gym rat, my eating habits weren't the best and that is why the weight crept up on me. About a year and a half ago I started having breathing issues so I started going to the gym less and less until it was barely anything at all. Last month i was finally diagnosed and given medication so I have no excuse not to go now. I have been making it 4 times a week. Would rather see that at a minimum 6 times. I have always been accountable for others...always the one to motivate those surrounding me. I don't have someone like that for me. And that last sentence took me almost 30minutes to write. I don't like asking for help...not sure why. I have always been the listener and hated talking about myself. Either way I am here to support anyone and look forward to meeting others with similar goals. GOOD LUCK!
