Ah, German bread, how I miss you :)
Actually, Trader Joe's sells a fairly good rye bread.

I will be here at least until July 2014. There are awesome bike trails here too. But- I miss the country roads of TN. The bike trails in my village are packed with walkers, kids, dogs and ....
If I go later in the evening then it is easier to ride.

I am trying to get a group of women to meet for activities a couple of times per month. This winter I have been running on my treadmill and swimming in my pool. I am blessed to have an indoor hearted pool. So, I really don't have it too bad.

I eat much less fast food here, but more bread since it is yummy from the bakeries.

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17

Hi Sandy. Hope you're enjoying Germany.
In my opinion it is still easier in Germany to stay away from processed foods than it is here in the US.
How long will you be there? How long will you have to miss your biking buddies?
BTW there is awesome biking in Germany, too :)
Wishing you all the best.

Hi!, I am Sandy. I have been on SP for over two years. I have lived in Germany for 18 months. I miss my friends that I biked with in TN. three times a week. I chose this team to give me some extra motivation to stick with my workouts. Some German pounds have crept on to me, and I need them gone.

Hi Debroah,
SP is definietly better than an weight loss program I've ever found. It has helped me look at my goals in smaller steps. Don't get discouraged. emoticon
Welcome and good luck!

Hi Deb. Welcome to Spark and welcome to the team. You've come to the right place. It takes time and patience to build new habits, but if you keep at it, they'll sneak up on you.

Set small goals, take small steps, this way it won't feel so overwhelming.
Wishing you much success on your journey.

My Name is Debora & I heard about this site from a friend on FB. My ultimate weight loss goal is 1/2 my body weight (from my heaviest point), but that is such a huge number, that I'm only putting in my small goals.... I weigh less today than I did this time last year, but didn't first one is to go from 268 to 250 by mid-March. I can say that I am my own worst enemy....I've gotten off to a good start more times than I can count & several times have set up routines that were really working for me. And Then....well, let's just say that I don't deal with interuptions well and it takes me time to reset and rework my routines. I end up focusing on the immediate (we are a family of 6) and my personal goals fall by the wayside. In order to success I HAVE to plan ahead, and learn to keep my basic goals on course in spite of whatever life may throw at us. That's partly why I'm here. I hope to keep learning and keep working toward that ultimate goal.
