Welcome to the team, Little Lady.

I drink diet soft drinks (that's what we call soda in New Orleans) zero calorie flavored water, and a lot of water.

I wear my Fitbit all the time.

I eat a lot of nutrition bars...Zone Perfect, South Beach, Slim Fast. I am not a veggie person, and I recently realized that a lot of the fruit I eat is effecting my latex allergy in an adverse way.

I feel like I'm at an AA meeting!!! emoticon emoticon

Hello! I am so excited to have found this team today! I have watched calories my ENTIRE life!

I know you will yell at me but I do not have breakfast. I use Sweet n Low. I wear a pedometer even if just running around my house doing chores, hey chores count. I am basically a dinner and snack person. I buy produce on clearance whenever possible to cook something nutritious in the crockpot or make a good salad. I drink iced coffee (with Sweet n Low of course), bottled water with sugar-free water enhancer, iced tea and diet soda for drinks.

Occasionally, I will have something sweet IF I have to...you know, low blood sugar.

I hope to make some good Sparkfriends on this team! Thanks for existing!

I'm Vicki and I've been a member of sparkpeople off and on for the last 7-8 years.( I actually started this team but under a different user name ) In that time I've managed to yo-yo myself up about 70 lbs. I'll lose some weight then get compliant and gain it back plus more. But now I'm starting to have health issues that wouldn't be as bad if I were at a smaller size.
I don't expect to ever see below 225 lbs. again but would love to see that number again, so this is my goal to reach. As of today I'm 262.8 lbs., so my goal is to drop 38 lbs. Once I manage that, then I'll decide if I want to try to go lower.

Remember: WE ARE WORTH THE EFFORT !!
Ultimate goal: Lose 45 lbs.

Hi, I'm new to the team but not to sparkpeople. My sparkpage is set to private so if you would like to be sparkfriends just send me a sparkmail letting me know. Once we sparkfriend each other my sparkpage will be visible for you.
I have tried a lot of different diets and food plans over the years. Many with temporary success. The bottom line is calories in have to be less than calories out so to keep things very simple I am going to track everything that goes in with the free spakpeople food tracker and use my spark activity tracker everyday to record what's going out. Its a simple idea and easy to do so I am not sure why I try and complicate the process!
I am excited about joining the team and look forward to making some new sparkfriends. Have a great day everyone emoticon

Saw your team featured and thought I'd join you for a bit. I lost lots of weight on sp but have gained some over the summer. I knew I had to get back to sp and work. The teams I am on are great and I enjoy the friendships, hearing about grandchildren, and husbands but I have missed the conversations about food and exercise that focus me. Comparing notes and being accountable does help. I am 63, a teacher, and have two relatively new knees.

I am doing 1200 calorie diet:

I have a range of 1200-1350 calories per day.

300 calories for breakfast
100 calories for AM snack
300 calories for lunch
100 calories for PM snack
400 calories for dinner

Official 'Eat Up, Slim Down' Challenge and Official Healthy Cooking Challenge

I have been trying to find more websites/groups to help find more 400 calorie dinners that my family and I can enjoy together!

I'm back after being gone for about 8 months. I actually started this team but left due to severe computer issues which thankfully are all straightened out now.
I'm 57 years old and have over 100 lbs to lose to really get back to a weight I want to be. Over the last 6 months I've dropped about 17 pounds but still have a long way to go.

I'm a divorced mom of 2 teens both with health issues. My daughter has more than my son. Keeps me busy & stressed out a lot all the time. I love to crochet & try to work on a project every day. I have 4 cats that keep me as sane as possible. I just got promoted to shift leader @ my job (Pizza Hut). I love my job. yes Cathy its especially tough since my Dear Hubby recently retired , and now has the lets go here , lets do this , syndrom and we acquired a puppy since he retired and needed company ,, lol ,, guess the 2 cats didnt keep him company enough. But Im not real good at dealing with the patients families, (I work in a nursing home) and I don't deal well at all with Doctors, so I do nicely on Night shift. Most families, God bless them, can't deal with mom or dad at home but like to tell you how to take care of mom or dad, or gripe and complain that they are not being taken care of like the family would like. And tho I try as best as I can to treat the facility as the patients home its not, never will be like when they were home and we have certain rules we hve to follow. Doctors well ,, I just cant handle the Holier then thou syndrom. "I save lives, I AM GOD" Any way , I love my job I love my Patients, and I do my best , Now its time to try to start taking care of me .

Hi I'm new to the team and basically starting all over with my journey to a healthier me. Hope to meet and make some new friends,here and be a good team member.

Im 50 yrs old , a nurse that works night shift and an in somniac, who has trouble sleeping during the day .

I live in North Carolina.
I am 72 years old.
I have had weight issues for most of my life.
Counting calories works for me.
I am not counting calories on SparkPeople.
My sister and I are both counting calories and we often eat together. We are using FatSecret to count our calories. We both have our menus already made for today. She is way below her goal and I am almost to goal.
I do not go above 1300 calories each day. Today's total is 1279.
Some days I need to make adjustments; but counting before I eat always keeps me accountable.
Today is day 413 counting calories for me.
413 days ago I weighed 215 pounds.
I maintained weight lost once for 2 years. I got tired of counting calories and before long I was gaining weight again. Good habits are so hard to make and so easy to break.

So glad you're better after the flu ... it is terrible this year. Saw a woman in the pharmacy waiting on her prescription today ... I wished she'd used the drive through!

Thank you for the welcome, and ideas. I use low sodium veggies if I buy in a can, I prefer fresh. I even rinse the low sodium ones with water. I do like Mrs. Dash Spices also.

emoticon sorry to hear about your loss. my dh has a sodium problem so i have been doing low salt for him for years. we make stuff and i add salt to mine.

you can find low salt spagehti sauce in a can if you look for tomato sauce instead. ezeckile bread (like the bible) has low sodium bread. keep it in the freezer or frig. it will spoil other wise.

try adding lemon juice to stuff for flavor. Mrs. Dash has low sodium stuff.
i dont use it becasue i dont like pepper.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am Marsha from Florida. I am 81 years young, and was glad to find a group that counts calories, I have done it all, but always go back to counting my calories to lose weight. I also have to watch my sodium intake. I go to Curves for Women, last week I went 3 days, doctor really wants me to go 4, but I have a tight schedule with my Church, appts., etc. I lost my DH of almost 62 years in May of last year. It is a different life for me, I am blessed with a wonderful Son and Daughter-in-Law.

Doctor wants me to get my Blood Pressure down so I am really trying with exercise and counting my calories and sodium. I have to go back in March to her and want to show a nice loss.

Have a great evening, and a wonderful Sunday. I am planning on going to church in the morning. Haven't been there in 3 weeks as I had that terrible flu. Much better now.

My name is Victoria and I have just joined the team.

I calorie count with my Nintendo DS, I have an English program on there with Carol Vorderman. She also has a virtual walk on there from one end of England to the other, a calorie game and an exercise tracker. As I am a cardio nut, I eat about 1500 calories a day.
