Hi! I am an official SparkTeam Challenge fan, and hope there are more. I've Type 2 diabetes, and need to lose the 60 lbs I gained when dh retired (down 20, so far). I've been with SP since February, and have adjusted fairly well, but I keep thinking thoughts about how I'll be able to eat like I did before, and I need to really believe that the way I'm eating now is not temporary. That is my greatest challenge, so far.

Hi! My name is Shawna. I've been on SP for years, but only just now joined this challenge. I'm actually participating in a real life fitness challenge, part of which includes a fairly regulated diet, and I thought joining this group might give a few more tips and ideas... plus if I can get a trophy for doing what I'm already doing... yay me ;)

Hello!
My name is Rachel, I'm returning to SparkPoeple after a few years of chaos... Hoping to stay motivated this time!! I joined this challenge to help hold me accountable for eating MORE healthy foods and less binging on junk. I'm a vegetarian so theoretically it shouldn't be too much of a change for me.

Hello, Honouria here.
I weigh about 360, and last year I lost 110 lbs on strict low carb. I regained it.
As a result, I have become agonistic to low carb due to food exclusions.
I need to lose weight, but I want to do it sanely.

regards,
Honouria

Hi everyone, My name is June and I live in Chesapeake, VA. I have spent the last few days reading about nutrient dense foods and then I found the team today, so this challenge is for me. It will be one way for me to increase my veggie and fruit intake. Looking forward to meeting everyone. emoticon June

Hi Team!

I joined this challenge so that I can learn to eat with portion control, eat more throughout the day so I don't "late night over-snack" and reach my caloric goals with healthier, more nutritious foods that will help me build lean muscle mass and not fat! I look forward to meeting you all!

Hi, I am working towards being below 200 lb by my son's wedding in September. I seem to do this every spring. Get excited about making improvements, then get bogged down in all the stuff that accompanies life change. I slide back into what are the old and comfortable habits. Been doing it for years. Now this is the year I really change. (Fake it til ya make it, right?)

I joined this challenge yesterday so I can learn how to put together the right foods to get all my nutrition while staying in my calorie, etc. range. Ultimately I want to run, but I need to lose weight so I don't kill my knees. I walk 5k 4 to 5 times a week and have been doing so since September but haven't lost much weight.

Hi. My name is Marilyn and I just joined the challenge. I have lost 10 pounds but need to get more on track if I want to reach my goal in July.....of course it isn't set in stone so there is wiggle room. LOL I am interested in finding out what I can eat more of and to get some variety in my food choices. So I am starting this before my next trip to the grocery store and will make my shopping list out accordingly. I think the mini meals would work well for me through mid afternoon and then just have a regular dinner.....will have to do some calorie figuring on it.

Aloha, I'm Karmann. This looked like a good team for me to join. I need to improve my eating habits. I have always had a healthy lifestyle (in my opinion), l juice fruits and veggies every day and get regular exercise. But I also have some bad habits that I indulge in. For instance, I enjoy a martini after a hard day and I also have a weakness for cheese and crackers that are keeping me from meeting my weight loss goals. I've been "stuck" at the same weight for several weeks.

So I'm here for motivation to eat the right things and break some of my bad habits.

Hey team. I just joined today. I too have never weighed this much. I used to be very active but in the last year I have become more sedentary. My diet has improved but the weight continued to pack on. I started running again. Used to be an avid runner but when I started working midnights stopped all of that. I now work days again and feel I can now get serious about my health.

Hi, just joined. I've been on a plateau for months and am finding myself slipping because I'm hungry so much of the time but not seeing any results. Just finished reading CaloriesPerHour.com and realized I'm doing something wrong because I should be losing weight like crazy. I'm doing this challenge to see if it will help me fine tune my eating habits.

Spring seems to be here, my recuperation from surgery has succeeded, it is time to take on a few challenges and get serious about some more weight loss. With one vegetarian daughter, I've learned more about healthy eating, but expense and time are keeping me from making as much progress as I'd like. I hope this team will help me make some changes in my eating.

Hello, I will be turing 27 next week and I am not new here, been here since 2010 or so, realized today that I weigh more today, then I did when I joined spark people way back when! That is a shocker emoticon Needless to say, I have not been following the great tips on spark people, or allowing others on this site to support me on my weight lost journey. I plan from this day on, for my weight to decrease(and not increase any further). I think this is a perfect challenge for myself because veggies arent exactly my go too for eating! Its time for that to change as well! I am fairly active, I walk, play volleyball 3 times a week and even go to the gym several times a week but it is not enough, until the diet changes, nothing with my weight will change! Looking forward to completing this challenge emoticon

Hello, I so need to lose weight. I have been eating what I thought was healthy and found out, after tracking, the calories are too high. So here I am ready to get started and become a loser. I want to learn how to eat healthy & lose. I so very much want to see less of me, feel better about the way I look and get back that spring in my step and energy.

As they say, "If nothing changes, nothing changes" Well something is changing--my actions. I plan on being a loser and seeing less of me...so here goes!! I am on my way to a healthier, happier me. Today is the beginning of eating healthier & more often!

I know there will be those times when I will need support & encouragement, so I hope to find it here. And, you can be certain, I will let you know when I need help.

I am confident that what I put into this team plan, I will get back in my weight loss success!
Actions + Commitment = Success

I have been doing SP for some time, but as yet have not reach my goal weight. I believe tracking is my problem. I am just not consistent with it. Going to try to do better going forth.

I am a 62 (soon to be 63) yr old, grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren, 11 & 13.

Hi, My name is Robin. I am 56 years old. I have had fibromyalgia since grade school (not that it was considered real then). I thought this challenge would help me move forward. I want to lose weight to be healthier and active. The more I do not do the worse I feel, but if I overdo it is very painful. So I am trying to find a happy medium.

Hello My name is Vyctoria
I have bee put on a high fiber, moderate protien, low fat diet due to some helath issues that have recently surfaced. I eat healthy most times, but getting enough fiber is my week spot. I am making changes daily and will continue to make changes everyday moving forward. This challenge is a jump off point for me to be the heathier person I know I can be.

Hello, Hello! My name is Sara and I'm from (born & raised) a suburb of Milwaukee, WI. As long as I can remember, my weight has gone up & down like a yoyo. This is my 500th time (not literally) returning to Spark People. I start to have success and end up falling off the wagon - stop using the site and ultimately gain the weight back and then some. I've tried other programs without achieving as much success as I do here.

I used to achieve the most success when I participated in challenges. Hopefully that still holds true.

Nutrition - still trying to work on this...I have the most problems when I get home from work - I'm typically starving and pack anything edible into my pie hole. It's a hot mess.

Fitness - I attend Zumba 3-4 times a week. However, I do know that multiple modes of fitness is a must for weight loss. I just love love love Zumba.

Sweat like a pig, look like a fox!

Hi! My name is Debbie. I'm 57, 5'5" and was 222 lbs when my doctor weighed me this past Wednesday. My health has taken a bad tailspin due to my husband's failing health.

DH is 6'0 and was 117 lbs 2 weeks ago at his gastro's appt...and that was fully clothed with a heavy jacket on. He has probably lost another 10 lbs since then since he refuses to eat or drink. He was finally diagnosed with C Diff this past Monday. He had hernia surgery 4 weeks ago and he really had full blown C Diff within 24 hours of the surgery. He is severely anorexic and refuses to see a doctor or get any sort of help. He refuses to tell the doctors what is actually wrong with him. I know that he is dying...it's almost like he's willing himself to die too.

In the past month I have suffered from chest pains, severe shortness of breath, nausea, and bad pain in my hip (I've had bursitis in that hip a few years ago too). All this scared me enough to finally see a doctor to get myself back on the right path. I have a referral to a cardiologist but the EKG looks good (thank goodness!!!). When I'm stressed, I eat. When my husband is stressed, he doesn't...we are total opposites. I have to take care of myself because I will be no good to anyone else if I don't. I want to be alive to see my step grandchildren grow up since my husband won't be around to see them grow up...and that is so incredibly sad.

Hi, I have tried lots of different eating plans and am really just getting tired of it all but can't give up now! I have been with Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and Nutra Systems not to mention fad diets! I got tired of being hungry all the time so I just said forget it, & of course I gained back the weight every time!

The heaviest I weighed was 240 & when I joined JC in 2010 I was 222. My goal of 145 was reached August 2012, & have stayed within 5 & 8 lbs, but it has been a struggle. With SP supporting me, I think it helps me to stay positive and motivated. I hope this challenge will help me learn some new techniques. emoticon

Hi everyone, I'm 5'2" and 30lb overweight. I'm turning 40 this year and I would like to start the next decade of my life feeling like I like what I see when I look in the mirror. I continue to gain and lose the same 5-8lb, and I'm just lost, tired and frustrated at myself for not succeeding. I'm hoping that the info I get on this challenge helps me to get on track and get this weight off.

Hello. My name is Jennifer and I am from Queensland, Australia. I have been struggling with my weight for years now, and in the last 6 months have lost 5 kilograms. When I found the nutrition tracker on here, I thought that was just what I needed. I have been on the site for only a few days, but am already feeling more positive that Spark people will help get me down to my ideal weight. I also have high blood pressure, quite recently, so I am determined to get that down to normal range. I have really enjoyed what I have read so far, and like the level of responsibility people on this site seem to take for their actions. So far, I don't think I have read one person's account where they try to blame someone or something else for their health and fitness. I find that very reassuring!
Thank you all in advance for what I think is going to be a very positive resource for me.

Hello, Linda. I have always been a big water drinker, but as councils added more and more things to our water, I found it increasingly difficult to drink it from the tap. I started observing my reaction to water from various sources, and found that my nose was far more sensitive to what was in the water than I had expected. Very clean water from streams and filters I could drink very easily, but unfiltered tap water made me gag and I couldn't put it to my lips. The other thing I found, was that adding something as simple as a slice of lemon or slices of strawberry in water makes it really delicious. A thin sliver of any fruit you like makes all the difference. You'll soon find you can drink as much water as you need to!

Hi my name is Danielle I am 45 years old and at 5'2 my weight had gotten up to 187lbs. I am now at 137lbs been working on my weight for ore than 3 years now. I want to loose 20 -25lbs more. I have tried every last diet trick you can imagine the last one helped me to loose 5lbs in just 2 days only to gain 8 during the past week. I have tried other fitness groups but they weren't helpful. I really hope joining this group will help. I try tracking my food but it tends to confuse me. Lol any suggestions would be great.

Hi, my name is Brandie and I'm joining this group to provide some structure to my weight loss. Over the last 6 years I have lost 130+ pounds but have really struggled the last month or so. I would like to lose the last 15-20 pounds and I think a challenge like this is what I need to get me back on track.

Hi My name is Kaelyn and I am excited to join this challenge. I have gained 35 lbs in the last 4 years and I am in the worst shape of my life (at least that is what it feels like). I am joining this challenge because I am hoping to get healthier through my eating habits, which are currently not so healthy.

Hello everyone , My name is Dawn and I am 46 years old. I love a good challenge to keep me accountable and heading in the right direction.I have so many reasons to be here but I am the most important one. I want to have a healthy relationship with food . I would like to eat to live , not live to eat.

Hi everyone,

I started with SP really on Feb. 3 2013. Since then I have lost 15 pounds. Still have a long way to go. Would like to learn how to eat healthy not just for myself but for my son as well.

Hello! My name is Megan and I'm 22 (I seriously just had to stop and think about that for a second haha!) I live in central Illinois with my fiance and 3 dogs. We are recently engaged and I want to slim down (in a healthy way) for the wedding! I have a while so I know I can do it the right way instead of crash dieting. I would love to learn new and healthier ways to cook as I am constantly in the kitchen. Cooking is a passion of mine and I am glad to be here!
