Good morning everyone. I'm Donna and have been a Sparker since 2008. I've had my ups and downs and thought this would be a good way to refresh myself. I think overall my food choices are pretty good (with an occasional lapse!) but I need to get portions back under control.

Hi, I joined this challenge to stay motivated and work on a healthy eating goal. I am good for about 9 months and once August hits , I go back to bad habits.
This is my fourth year on SPARK. I have made a commitment to honor myself this year and enjoy each and every day!

Hello! I am Linda. I am excited about this challenge. I hope to learn so much about eating healthy. I have been a nurse for over thirty years. And I am ashamed to say that I don't know squat about nutrition. Yes I could tell you basics, and such. But I couldn't begin to explain how to follow those basics. It's almost as if I am book smart but common sense stupid! I don't know any other way to say it! I think it is amazing that I have reached the age I am at without more physical problems due to poor diet than I have! I hope to implement a healthy diet so I can reach my goal of being able to play with my grandchildren in the park.

A big lifestyle change has me regaining after a good spell of maintaining. I spend most of my week on a Big Truck which I love but which is very challenging as far as exercise and eating options! I need to get back to better nutrition and figure out how to get in more exercise on a tight schedule and limited space.

It wasn't job stress that caused me to regain weight, but I could still relate to your story. I lost over 65 pounds before I got pregnant. I ended up regaining 35 pounds that have stayed with me even though my son is now four. On my last birthday, I decided enough was enough! Since then I've been trying to make one new lifestyle change each month so that I can lose the weight and keep it off. I had more energy and felt better without these extra pounds. Plus, I know Type 2 diabetes runs in my family, so I NEED to eat better and stay active. To add more incentive, I just found out that I have an inner ear disorder that is aggravated by too much sodium.

Hello, I'm Jéssica, I'm a Mexican writer, 33y/o. I gained 20lbs when I left Mexico City and moved with my hubby to a city/town where you cannot find chicken broth - only pozole, tacos, fried quesadillas and so. Before leaving my city I used to hula-hooping everyday, but when I came here I twisted my ankle and voila, I gained a ton of weight. I want to be back in shape as my knee and my back hurt so bad, plus I want to eat healthier to get pregnant some year soo.

Since mid December, I've been concentrating on eating more natural foods & cutting back on added sugars, food additives and processed foods. Doing that, I've lost around 3 lbs- there's been some hovering in the last 2 weeks, but this week I lost another half pound. Adding vegetables has been very important and I was psyched to see this new Spark team challenge!

HI, my name is Robin. I will be 51 Feb 9 and I need to get back in shape. I am a mother to 5 children - the youngest being 8 and 9. They lost their father 2 years ago when he had a heart attack. I do not want to leave my beautiful children without a parent. I am not only a single mother but a busy nurse working full time on a behavioral health unit. Being physically fit is a must for my sometimes very physical job. I am making this the year to get back on track...no more excuses. I think this challenge will go well with a weight loss challenge I started at work.

I am a CEO with a somewhat stressful desk job. This has led to a creep in my weight over the last 5 years, since I assumed control of the company. Prior to that I had lost about 60 pounds, after a lifetime of struggling with my weight. When I realized that I had gained back 30 of that - and the fact that in another 5 years I could be as unhealthy and unsightly as I was before, I realized I had to take some responsiblity to change my future. There is heart disease, diabetes and cancer in my family and although I eat healthy foods and like to walk when I can it clearly just wasn't enough. My goal is to make myself accountable for my exercise and nutrition choices once again - because I know how much better I can feel physcially and mentally!
