Hi Kelly, AA stand for anti-angiogenesis. Angiogenesis is a natural healthy process in our bodies. It goes haywire when cancer cells grow into tumors because cancercells don't have their own blood supply. Somehow, through angiogenesis, blood vessels start to grow to feed the cancer cells and they can grow into tumors.
Many cancers are now treated with ANTI-angiogenic drugs that bring the cancer-feeding blood vessels back into balance, thus starving the tumors.
So, ANTI-angiogenic foods do the same type of thing, and if you go to our resource forum you can link to Dr. Li's Ted Talk, "Can we Eat to Starve Cancer."
I started this team to let others know about this resource. Since I have had cancer twice, I am trying to be proactively preventative in the way I eat. I incorporate more and more of the foods on the angiogenic inhibitor food list at Eattodefeat .org.
So most resources at this team will be to information and resources put out from Dr. Li, or Eat to Defeat Organization.
In our PHoto gallery, I have posted a slide from Dr. Li's Ted talk that lists all of the chronic illnesses which happen because of an imbalance in angiogenesis--INCLUDING OBESITY.
Be sure you go to our resources, and link to his video.
All foods are mostly normal, everyday foods. Dr. Li says they are synnergistic--increasing the potency of the other when combined.
Again the links to the video and the food list are in the resource forum.
